Actually it is two separate alloys. A stronger, harder, more brittle, less ductile, less tough alloy for the gun....well at least for the barrel and breach. A softer, less brittle, more ductile alloy for the bullet. If a rifle barrel and bullet are the same alloy, the rifling will be destroyed very quickly after being fired a few times and accuracy would quickly decrease. If both were the same alloy, it would have to be a smooth bore, and the only way to get high accuracy would be to use a discarding sabot bullet, and we have not seen any evidence of that for the aluminum guns. The coinshot and lurched painkiller rounds work on a similar physical design though.

If I remember correctly, those 3 make up the glyphs for the various House Kholinar branches. Page 11 half way down, Harakes post here Yep! In fact Dalinar's glyphpair for "Kholin" is the Tower and Crown shown above, while Elhokar's is a Tower and Sword. We haven't seen what Elhokar's looks like, but I imagine you'd be able to tell the resemblance at a glance.

Well in that case I think it just creates a "null" zone based off the shape of the hat...an Allomancer directly below might be able to influence....would make a great Brandon question really... If a soother or rioters radiates their intent, it should be a straight line function, so any aluminum in the path should stop it. Caps are not spherical only conical, so correctly positioned you should be able to avoid them.

I just see a Wolverine style expulsion of the metal as the body heals around the wound, surface pressure on the shrapnel increases. As the pressure increases the intruding object is forced out. Your way would only work if the aluminum had a field around it that everything in its range was nullified by.

D&D are both splintered and shoved into the cognitive realm. Speculation follows: The fact that one shard pool exists indicates there should be two. The shard pools would have have to form before the arrival of Odium most likely. OR The one and only shard pool formed from the Dor itself in Elantris for some reason.
