    I agree that she is emotionally confused about the events there. I also am not suggesting that the man was her mom's lover. But I now know where I got that idea from in the first place- a different flashback. The man COULD be, but I doubt that's all that there is to him. Otherwise, why would a lover decide "grr I wanna go kill me some of my lovers daughter who's been doing some weird light stuff." There's more to the story. My question is WHEN WHEN WHEN

    Im starting to share a room again with my brother. It's not fun. I'm losing my big bed, my space to put all my nerd stuff, and my book space... and my alone space. I like being alone. And my brother is stinky. (Actually stinky). We're doing it to make things during the school year easier to manage... Doesn't make it any more fun.

    I've discussed this in a topic before, and I finally found where I got the whole lover thing from. The maids in one of Shallans flashbacks refer to him as being Shallans Mom's lover. I think it is interesting that he came with her to kill her own daughter, and I assume we will learn more about that eventually. I'm also a bit foggy on how he died. It is clear that Shallan killed her mom. But it is not clear whether she also killed the friend, or whether her Father killed the friend. I suspect that it was the father that killed the friend, and not Shallan herself. But I'm not sure. I'm sure we will eventually learn more about that fateful day. And when she actually first swore the first ideal.

    HOLY highstorms. I just read this book called Flash Boys. It's crazy how little I understood about the stock market, and how much the stock market is making off of microseconds. If you've never heard of High Frequency Trading or IEX, read this book. It will blow your mind.

    So I was really excited to get into conference all state. Really excited. I had gotten an 100 on my top level vocal solo, and felt really good about it. I also did conference all state last year, so you would think I would get in no problem. Apparently not. I'm not not in, but I've only been selected as an alternate. That... crushes me. Now I did change voice parts which could be part of the issue, but I have been looking forward since Conference all state finished to getting in. I worked my butt off to get that 100. And now I've only been selected as a person who might get in if another person can't do it? I guess this is an issue of expectations, but it still hurts. This is super important to me and... ugh. Just ugh. When you do your best and you still don't get what you think your best warrants, it hurts. Oh and my parents decided to move me out of my personal room. No more big bed, no more privacy for me.

    I have got to agree with calderis there. Somehow the surgebinders did make things worse. Perhaps it even gave odium an idea or something. In other news, I can't find Chana. I combed the book. I do have one last strategy: list every female character and eliminate them one by one. That'll take a while.

    I'll just post again. I have no idea why you guys made me medium, I was camping lol. I think I told you guys that. If I could have been on, I swear I would have. But roaming charges are not something I like to incur I did have a lot of fun though. I feel really bad about the last minute inactivity.

    I just finished a re-read of WoK and WoR. So I have a couple things I'm going to throw out there. I am so confused how entire nations were destroyed by these desolations. What we've seen just doesn't seem enough to cause the utter destruction of a civilization's roots. Even giant stone giants don't seem... destructive enough. I feel like there is something more to the desolations that we haven't seen very much of. Something more than the conflict between Radiants and Voidbringers. Speaking of which, how did 10 Heralds ever win against the voidbringers before the Radiants came along? 10 people against a lot of destructive magical hate machines seems not enough. Again, I think there are some more pieces to the puzzle than we currently have. I also noticed that Highprince Hatham has a Ryshadium. That says something about his character, and being an honorable person. Probably. The final vision that Dalinar has continues to intrigue me. The warmth and everything just feels like something else was going on. It wasn't from the stormfather... so I think something else was going on. I also gained a much better appreciation of how much hate is in the land of roshar. Between many wars, and just general unrest apart from the actual events of the series, I think Roshar has been seriously inundated with the power of Hate.

    I have no idea how I lost, but I had a ton of fun playing this game! I think the only reason we lost was because so many foresters died to the zeta dimension. It was fun, and educating to be elim again. Thank you Aonar for running it!
