  1. This isn't actually true. He can use the same method as Vasher to infuse himself with stormlight. If he does that, then drawing Nightblood will be possible. Also, it seems that drawing Nightblood is part of what is required to bond it, so he will need some alternative method of infusing himself first.
  2. The Heralds have always been inefficient in their usage of investiture when surgebinding using the powers granted by their blades, this is not something which has changed. However, as they were directly powered by Honor, inefficiency means little when they had access to almost to unlimited investiture. So really, it's not that the honorblades got weaker, it's just that the Heralds lost an advantage which made the disadvantage of the blades meaningless.
  3. I'm in the middle of final exams. I'll get it done once I'm all done those. Edit: I also wasn't even aware that Extensian had posted one.
  4. He was probably tapping or burning internal goldminds that they couldn't get at without cutting him open. I think it would very hard for another shard, which isn't of Preservation or Ruin, to supplement Feruchemy as it wouldn't possess the correct type of investiture. Additionally, this means that it would've had to have somehow created a spiritual connection to Miles, which while isn't impossible, would also be a bit complicated if done non-obtrusively.
  5. An argument for hemalurgy's focus being metal, and not it using the focus of the magic system that's being stolen: You still use metal when stealing attributes like physical strength, intelligence, etc, things which don't require a focus and are not of allomancy or feruchemy.
  6. Yes, the title is certainly misdirecting as it appears you are, in no way, thinking that feruchemy is not end-neutral, but rather than atium stores an attribute that changes quite rapidly by itself. I would say that this is coincidental. Also, I wouldn't describe the trait as being end-negative, as it's not. It's just accomplishing its nature, and end-negative is not a term which should be applied to attribute, as it deals with the net transfer of investiture during the course of using a manifestation of investiture. Other attributes change on their own. Memories degrade, your strength lessens, your health diminishes. While these are the result of age, it is due to the nature parts of these attributes that these happen.
  7. You're not older because the charge has, in any way, diminished. You're older because during this entire process, you're still naturally aging. To break down the entire math. t = 0 min: Start storing so that you're 5 minutes older. [Relative age from start, 5 min; Actual age from start, 0 min] t = 2.5 min: Still storing so that you're 5 minutes older. [Relative age from start, 7.5 min; Actual age from start, 2.5 min] t = 5 min: Stop storing and start tapping so you're five minutes younger. [Relative age from start, 0 min; Actual age from start, 5 min] t = 7.5 min: Still tapping so that you're 5 minutes younger. [Relative age from start, 2.5 min; Actual age from start, 7.5 min] t = 10 min: Stop tapping, charge is depleted. [Relative age from start, 10 min; Actual age from start, 10 min] As you can see, you've continued to age during the process, which is why you still end with a net addition to your age. This isn't a quirk of atium or feruchemy, this is part of the fact that this is an attribute which is constantly changing. Your soul is continuing to count your age as time advances. While the tap does trick the soul into being younger than it actually is, it's still counting from the relative younger point.
  8. I'm doing it, I'm doing it, hold your chulls. I'm not going to be able to answer for a bit due to real life stuff though.
  9. I'll point out that bronze allomancy already does feel pulling pulses. That's how the pulling metal were categorized, because they're pulses feel like they're pulling. In my opinion, bronze detects usages of investiture. How the system works probably doesn't matter as long as there's a transfer, though some systems, like feruchemy, are probably are lot more subtle in their usage, and therefore harder to detect. If another manifestation of investiture which has been classified as end-negative deals with the usage, it should be detectable. The seeker would probably just feel a different set of pulses.
  10. Brandon has confirmed that it has to do with Connection. He also has said that it's a slightly long process that will be explained in TLM.
  11. Yeah, that was it. Can you source it?
  12. Doubtful. He seems to only be able to detect it being around. I mean, he could know it was around then talk to the air and it would know, but it wouldn't have any way to respond.
  13. There's a WoB that the Beyond is related to the sun of the Shadesmar and the pull towards it. I'm unable to find it at this moment though.
  14. You can't burn silver by itself, it's not an allomantic metal. Getting hurt by burning only applies to mistborns burning alloys of allomantic metal with incorrect percentages.
  15. It is not yet confirmed whether or not aluminum can be magically cut by shardblades.
  16. It was about being a feruchemist. His father was one so he figured he had a good chance of being one, but never got his hands on gold until later in life to know that he was one.
  17. Bloodsealing is also another variation. Keep in mind something interesting. Both bloodsealing and forgery can work outside of their nations of origin.
  18. I don't think it was in a book, just a signing question.
  19. Not surprising this came from the person responsible for asking about spiking spren.
  20. Actually, I think that it's not really a matter of it being living or not, but more a matter of the magnitude of its spiritual aspect. Living entities have greater spiritual, and this essentially shields the physical from being cut at the same time. Generally, non-living entities have far lesser spiritual, so this protection doesn't exist, allowing the sprenblade to cut both the physical and spiritual aspects at the same. If the planet is gaining self-awareness, this means that its spiritual aspect is growing. I can see the possibility that a sprenblade might need to damage its spiritual before it can cut it physically.
  21. He can normally, that was just an unusual lapse for him. He mentally talks about how he mastered shardblade commands ago. Also, summoning a shardblade and lending it to someone else is not a rare practice among high-level lighteyes like Highprinces and the King. That's how the King's blade work. Spoilered for length.
  22. Everything has a spiritweb. It's part of its existence realmatically. Life or intelligence level only contribute to the magnitude of its spiritual aspect.
  23. This doesn't explain the momentum shift that Wax undergoes though. Storing mass does, which is why it appears to be the most likely actual effect of iron, which Brandon has essentially confirmed.
  24. In the Epigraphs. My interpretation of this has been that single soothers or rioters could take control of kandra by themselves.
  25. We have no confirmation on either model being the correct. Personally I ascribe to the model than an object does have an absolute limit to the amount of investiture which can be infused into it, and through some degree of confirmation bias, I believe my signing question supports that. Brandon's description of it by saturation makes me think of the physical limits of solutions to holding dissolved substances and the like.
