  1. It seems to be a Type IV awakened entity, once again made in an imitation of sprenblades. The likely difference between it and Nightblood is that whoever made it did a better job, improving on the prototype design that Nightblood is. This can be seen by the closer enumeration of sprenblade abilities, cutting non-living and cutting the soul of living, while not having the excessive power that Nightblood has coupled with the leaking of power. With regards to who made it, I have my suspicions that it might've been Yesteel. From the Warbreaker annotations, Yesteel does know how to make them somehow, and I find it unlikely that Vasher would be willing to make another Type IV, considering what lengths he has gone to prevent further creation of them in the past.
  2. I actually like this, because remember a line from the Dawnsinger text.
  3. It's still end-neutral with regards to the term however, as that deals with classifying a manifestation of investiture based on where investiture begins and ends during default usage of it. While yes, in a general scope feruchemy allows for the subversion of natural laws with seemingly no source to that change, that doesn't figure into the selection of the End-X classification.
  4. That symbol is the Double Eye of the Almighty, a fairly common Vorin symbol which is known for being the symbol of the Knights Radiant. The symbol has also been integrated into other artworks including the surge chart and Navani's emotion bracelet. Not sure about only being five swords. I feel like it might've been stylistic to avoid overcrowding. That symbol does appear Words of Radiance as a chapter heading.
  5. While it may be possible to classify them as such, it should be kept in mind that the classification of pushing and pulling is unconnected to the effects of the variations of allomancy, and is instead simply related to how they are felt using copper allomancy. As such, I would only see a reason to classify them as pushing/pulling in the same vein as allomancy if the same kind of pulses can be felt, and that they can be observed as being pushing or pulling. In any case, if it did come to classifying surgebinding within the confines of Pushing or Pulling, I think that it should be the entire branch of surgebinding variation which is classified as Pushing or Pulling, as is done with allomancy.
  6. The annotation makes it sound more like he found out Vasher's method, not that he independently researched it as well. I bet that he learned it from Shashara, either directly or indirectly. He sounds like he's pretty research-oriented as well, so she may have exchanged notes with him and Vasher wasn't aware.
  7. Except the Oathgate is not at the center of the Shattered Plains, but rather a bit off of it. That was how they found it in the book, because it disrupted the otherwise perfect radially symmetrical pattern of the plains. It remained while the rest of the plain shattered.
  8. In Dalinar's vision with the midnight essence, we see a Radiant who appears to have their helm appear out of nowhere. That seems to indicate that Radiant-held shardplate can be formed/dismissed at will, though what exact process is occurring is unknown.
  9. Personally I think aluminum fudges things in the spiritual realm, so it would effectively prevent any power from crossing its field of effect. I think this is most likely based on what aluminum is known to be resistant against.
  10. Everyone in Scadrial had the disposition to become allomancers. Generally though, this disposition was took weak to allow the person to snap. This is why, before Rashek's ascension, there were so few Allomancers. However, due to Rashek granting the ancestors of the noble bloodlines lerasium, their allomantic disposition became far greater than the standard at that time, which was preserved in the skaa. This is why it was basically only possible for someone with noble blood to snap, as pure skaa heritage was too weak, although theoretically possible. Demoux snapped with the mists however, because the mists were designed to be able to bring out that weak disposition. As for Kelsier. While it is strange that he didn't snap sooner, it does take a high degree of trauma to snap someone. It's possible that he simply never was pushed to that limit. I feel like it was discussed by characters in the book that his life before the Pits wasnt that bad by skaa standards.
  11. There's a WoB that there will be another letter in Oathbringer.
  12. The resonances do seem to be linked to one of the Divine Attributes associated with the Order though.
  13. He can use his Augur ability to burn a goldmind, which would still compound the health within, without him having the feruchemical ability. The compounded health would then heal his body and soul.
  14. Try this one as well: This, combined with the WoB Calderis posted, seems to strongly indicate that there is some (somewhat complicated) additional set of steps required to create the unsealed medallions. As stated in this one, there needs to be a way to trick the spiritweb into thinking it has the ability to tap the nicrosilmind, implying that it's not a function of the unkeyed nicrosilmind to be tapped, but that like all feruchemical powers, the power to tap needs to be present in the person. Also, regarding your original idea. From what I understand, you are proposing that a person infuses themselves with stormlight, which would someone give them the necessary abilities to use the metallic arts. As stated by people previously, there are, from my understanding and belief (so this is not necessarily all canonical) a few problems with that. First and foremost is that the user, while possibly abandoning the need for a nicrosilmind, would still be replacing it with the need to have the ability to draw stormlight from spheres and infuse themselves with it. This is, as far as we have seen, not a common ability and something that the layperson can perform, so this replacement would not be a universal idea. Regardless, this does bring me to the second and more significant issue, that of the fact that I don't think it would even work like that. Investiture does not possess a universal and constant form. It appears to come in different types, and these different types have different effects and behaviours. As has been said by people previously, stormlight is a form of kinetic investiture. On the other hand, the the ability to use allomancy and feruchemy are formed from innate investiture, investiture forming the basis of their being. While interchangeability between the two isn't impossible, as it can be formed by gold feruchemy and the basics of self-infusion of stormlight, that too still requires an additional ability to perform.
  15. Actually, what we mainly discussed was that the physical body is formed from background investiture, ambient investiture which is just spread out and permeating the Cosmere. No investiture is taken from the entity crossing between the realms, only from the Cosmere itself, which then returns the Cosmere when that person crosses back into the Cognitive Realm. If you're interested, I can write the full train of thought which lead to this conclusion. It might help give some more context into the theory.
  16. It's enough for the question, which is asking why no one noticed his eyes were light during the arena fight when he was infused. The quote shows that just holding stormlight does lighten his eyes.
  17. Aluminum does create a slight bubble. Someone with a hat of aluminum is still immune to emotional allomancy coming from directly below them. I wouldn't say that it's completely impossible to say that a light coat over top would be protected as well.
  18. Exactly my thought when I read it but the naysayers will probably still find reasons to doubt it. I'm happy though for it. Good question @supersteve524
  19. It's a shard that wants to survive, but its intent is not survival.
  20. Here's a picture of the personalization if anyone is interested. Spoilered for size.
  21. No, you would be transferring a stolen power. Stealing generally refers to be when the spike is charged. Probably yeah. It likely exists within the realm of "theoretically possible," but practically, it would be impossible. In general, I agree with the sentiment that the charge is bound to the spike, and therefore couldn't be removed by another spike.
  22. Someone I know has a book personalization which says it's possible. I'll ask him for a picture of the book and question.
  23. Just a point where we have seen a likely reference to darkeyes feeling the Thrill. In the WoR interlude when Taravangian arrives at Jah Kevad on the ship, he talks with his aide and/or makes a mental note about how the Thrill sustained the soldiers such that they continued fighting through the night and destroyed the city. As I doubt that there are enough lighteye soldiers in the army to sustain that level of fighting, it feels like that he's referring to both lighteye and darkeye soldiers.
