My theory is Uncle Andy needed to find out how to defeat his enemy (possibly fainlife), so he needed experience.... and allowed or created the events to play out in order to have himself shattered into a million (far greater a number) pieces with 16 large equal parts in order to get said experience. All souls go to the beyond, where Uncle Andy's cognitive shadow is watching it all play out. Gaining experience as the souls come in. Waiting for the right time to come back. Hoid (and others) is his piece on the Cosmere table making sure everything works. .... When the fainlife is destroyed 40 books from now peace only last a short while. As a guitarist who plays classical music, I understood what was being described. Classical guitar playing is one person, one instrument and one melody. Playing the bass, rhythm and lead all in one. As a guitarist of 28 years, watching someone play a classical piece is as amazing as playing it. Thanatos

What would you prefer? This applies two ways... Books. 1. One book governed by a an acceptable word count; or 2. Two books that gives Brandon's vision of that book without a word count deadline. {Id pay for two half books} Movies/Tv show. Given Stormlight book 1 is projected as four hours long, what would you prefer? 1. Two, two hour movies; or 2. A 16 ep tv show that has to 100% have a high budget. .... Its not about spreading investiture around. Brandon has said all the shards permeates the Cosmere. Autonomy is everywhere, same with other shards. Its just that their awareness is finite, even with it expanding from ascension. I like the theory someone wrote here about Autonomy spawning avatars around the Cosmere (see letters from OB). Thereby increasing her awareness and in turn giving her more access to her full Cosmere wide investiture. Which brings a question to mind.... Q: How may avatars would Autonomy need, to have enough access to her full Cosmere wide investiture that she would be equal in power to a double shard like Harmony? .... Edit. What if the 'gods' (2) like uncle andy created the cosmere together. The other one dies and from his/her/its creation (body) the fainlife was created. Uncle Andy is killed because of the imbalance of the two investitures creating corruption. Hoid wants to recreate the two Gods thereby making a balance. Just a drunken thought

I thought the coming of the everstorm is the true desolation. This may or may not span both arcs. If it does its because Odium is very cautious of an attack from Cultivation if he takes on Dalinar/Stormfather directly. And time is of little consequence to him so his happy to wait it out and take things slowly.

My little bro has a good theory on why there could be a 15 year gap between SA1 and SA2. Odium chooses a baby as his champion. The foreshadowing of this is a death rattle: But the honor of the champion of light cant bring himself to kill Odiums champion so waits 15 years for him to grow up. Hence the 15 year gap between arcs.
