  1. The One Who Connects Stormlight has nothing to do with the ecosystem from my understanding. Didnt know the Stormfather was pre Honor. Always thought it was his spren, nightwatcher Cultivation and the other one Uncle Andy. Is the Stormfather confirmed as pre Honor? Calderis. Why would the Stormfather go is Tanavast goes?
  2. The One Who Connects The fact he chose to merge with the Stormfather is tantamount to him chosing not to go to the beyond. He didnt do it to keep the highstorm going, ecosystem maintenance or not. As the highstorms where there prior to Honors arrival.
  3. Calderis. Its only a theory. Wouldnt go so far as to call it an example. Putting a shattered shard back together and absorbing it are two different things. He may put it back together but not be able it pick it up. Or he may now have a greater connection to Uncle Andy now that he has two shards. We can only speculate Edit.. Calderis, i suppose it would be an example. Apologies read the post wrong. Had a pub lunch today and responded when i got back to work
  4. Calderis. We dont know the Stormfathers personality prior to merging with Tanavast. We have only seen the new Stormfather. The visions you cant compare as Tanavast was depressed about his potential loss and death. I guess Brandons 'is basically Honor’s cognitive shadow' is ambiguous enough to be your view or mine. Or another. Hope Oathbreaker has alot of answers to our theories.
  5. Calderis. Thats why i say Harmony's massive awareness and power. Also im not saying Harmony would pick the reassembled shard up, just reassemble it.
  6. Nope my theory is only a double shard or more can do this. Not a single shard otherwise Cultivation would have reassembled Honor. Or one of the unknown 6 shards reassembling Devotion, Dominion or Abition. Thats why i theorize it take more than one shard holder to do this. Such as Harmony.
  7. Jonathon. point taken. So ill change it round. Does a vessel 'merge' with a shard when its taken up? Calderis, Sound to me in that WoB that the Stormfather is the cognitive shadow of Tanavast. Who is a spren but because of the absorption is now different. The Stormfather is basically Honor’s cognitive shadow.
  8. Calderis, Its not really like liquids. Its two souls, one human one spren. I think he bonded in a similar way Radiants bond with spren. We still dont know all the information so we can only speculate. The One Who Connects, I was responding to your comment of 'You forget that choosing to leave often requires just as much or more willpower than choosing to stay.' I was disagreeing with that. Its easy to stay in the CR if you are invested enough. Yes i did imply Harmony could reassemble Honor but i also said and quoted how Tanavast could retake Honor in full: Quote: "What is Tanavast now? A cognitive shadow like Kelsier."
  9. Calderis, We dont know the extent of the merge and if it can be undone. Tanavast is indeed dead... but so is Kelsier pre Arc 2 of Mistborn.
  10. The One Who Connects, The way i see it is the more invested you are the less of a pull you have to the beyond. People who are massively invested have little to no pull. Its a conscious want to go to the beyond for these people. I didnt say Tanavast's shadow would reclaim Honor, im my OP i was alluding to Harmony creating a new body for Tanavast and putting him back together. Cultivation may be able to do this. Honor just needs to be assembled first.
  11. Calderis, I think he merged with the Stormfather so he could make a difference in the PR. Otherwise he would not be able to manipulate the PR or interact with people. The One Who Connects, Ruin held the shard for millennia as well. But went to the beyond straight away. Tanavast stayed for some reason. Part of the plan? Her potential forseeing of Harmony may be part of the plan with Odium. If and i say if only a double or more shard holder can reassemble a shard, Honors sacrifice makes sense. As Tanavast would chill for a bit and wait for Honors reassemble then he can retake Honor. This is all within the context of the OP theory.
  12. Why didnt Tanavast go to the beyond? Part of Cultivations and his plan? Sacrifice Honor to find out how Odium shatters a shard? If Cultivation is the best at seeing or predicting the future, did she forsee Harmony coming about? Harmony a shard that may be able to reassemble shattered shards given his massive awareness and power? What is Tanavast now? A cognitive shadow like Kelsier. Did Preservation sacrifice himself before Honor died? Giving Cultivation a better prediction?
  13. Yeah i know Odium doesnt want his intent contaminated by picking up another shard. I expect him to die at the end of Stormlight arc1. I really doubt someone other than a shard can put together a shattered shard. Given Odiums doing the shattering to prevent shards being picked up he would do a good job of it. My opinion is something outside of a single shard bearers awareness, like Harmony. He would have the awareness and power to do this. This maybe one of the many reasons Odium is scared of Harmony. Harmony can/may undo what Odium is doing. Otherwise Cultivation would have put Honor back together making the fight against Odium easier.
  14. Ive seen dozens of Brandons lectures. One of his main point is, 'ideas are cheap. Its how you use them that that matters.' Meaning, theres no original thoughts. Only your interpretation and way of tackling said 'idea'. He also has physicists and scientists friends helping him in his 'fantasy' stories.
  15. The One Who Connects, So its confirmed Stormlight is not of Honor?
  16. Kaladin - The river tells no lies, though standing on the shore the dishonest man still hears them.
  17. Szeth - when you immediately realise the candle light is fire, the meal was cooked along time ago.
  18. Calderis, Yeah ive done the same, been searching here and there all day. Maybe i just imagined it. Take it as false until found or confirmed in a later WoB.
  19. Thats a different occasion. Ill try and track down the WoB, even though im crap at searching.
  20. Brandon has confirmed that this is Odium.
  21. Calderis I agree it would be disappointing. But given his life i would also understand. His only human, or sentient as all sentient beings could act this way. (I believe most if not all animals are sentient, have since a kid.) ... Edit... Kaladin not only has hatred and disgust in his personality, Odium himself 'appeared' to him in a high storm! Who else has Odium so overtly appeared to?
  22. Calderis, Its only a theory. Kaladins emotions go up and down all the time. His own ethics turned Syl and the Storm Father from him. Although he wants to be a good person his life experiences make him who he is. And revenge and vengence is part of his nature. Its been years since ive read Stormlight but doing a reread in the next few months. Will take notes about the four when i do.
  23. Lord Maelstrom, The Surgeon, Assasin, Liar and Warlord are quiet clear. The Redeemer and Destroyer are the unknowns, guess work. I think the obvious choice is Dalinar or Szeth as the redeemer and Kaladin as the Destroyer. As i think Kaladin will end up being Odiums champion, wheather he has a choice in the matter or not. But your right about Brandon being unpredictable.
  24. I think the ending is the vision of Honor with Dalinar where Roshar is falling apart. But thats just a guess
  25. Now WoK was my first Cosmere book. Been years. 1. Surgeon = Kaladin. 2. Assasin = Assasin in White. 3. Liar = Shallon. 4. Warlord = Dalinar. My guess.. 1. Redeemer = Dalinar or Assasin in White. 2. Destroyer = Kaladin. This is interesting indeed. I have forgotten this. Thanks for reminding me. Gonna reread WoK and WoR plus Edgedancer before Oathbreaker.
