Though it could be possible that Crimsn Anarch got protected by Vodiyehi, this does sound quite damning. A one time kill also sounds more reasonable in light of the kill activity we've already seen. If necessary, I'll jump on the crimsn vote (or if @Cadmium Compounder could drop off the vote for a second so I could claim the first spot and confirm my ability as well).

The reason I never placed an additional vote was because I signed off shortly after moving my vote off you. I moved my vote off of you rather late because I'd hoped that the overall votes would develop in such a way that I could safely clear myself. Unfortunately, that did not happen, but I'll endeavour to do so this cycle. I'm not 100% sure what to think about the suspicions on CadCom for his vote this cycle. I called out his vote for Crimsn Anarch, but I doubt that the claim he made is completely fictional, as Crimsn Anarch flipping village would bring a lot of suspicion down on him. A claim like that is not typical for the evil team during C2. That having been said, in light of Roadwalker's alignment, his vote On ITIAh seems off in hindsight, but it's not that unusual a reasoning for D1. After all, the case against roadwalker was that he was inactive and nothing more, so I can see a villager going against that. I've looked over D1 again for any attempts at forming a serious counterwagon, and I've seen two. The first was me and Ada on Elandera. I'm quite certain Ada is village, unless the crusader never false-claimed to him (in which case Ada's probably evil). I know I'm village, but that doesn't help anyone else much either. The other counterwagon was on The high priest, which was initiated by Mailliw, but properly started by steel (with votes of Furami and evil!guest coming after that). Of these four, I wouldn't say more than 1 beside guest is an elim, for the simple reason that too many elim votes in one place like that is a grave risk for the entire team. Neither steel's nor Furami's argument was particularly strong for that lynch imo, but it should be noted that steel did switch to the fledgling guest wagon fairly early on. On the other hand, Roadwalker was apparently at least a little bit active, and though I'd personally bus an inactive elim with a role over an active elim without a role, if he was active enough that the would likely send in actions, I could see the elims bussing guest. In short, I think either Furami or steel could be evil, but most likely not both. Unfortunately, with a deadline tomorrow I won't be able to go much more in-depth than this, so instead I'm going to do something odd that'll save you all some analysis on me down the road, provided you don't lynch me this cycle (It'll also save you some analysis if you do lynch me, but at the cost of a preventable mis-lynch). |247|-|, I know you can post more constructive things than you've done so far. Any thoughts you want to share? @|247|-| Actually, I realize that I've been rather vague here, when that was not at all necessary with temptation out of the picture, so let me be clearer. I've got a role that allows my vote to count extra, but only if I'm the first vote on someone. Against Elandera during D1, that'd have actually posed a credible risk to her being lynched at the time, which is why I retracted it after it looked like I couldn't leave it in place to prove me having a village role without running the risk of accidentally lynching her. Provided no one messes with my vote (and I don't feel compelled to join another vote instead) you'll see this in action this turn.

Can you be a bit more precise? I get not wanting to reveal the identity of a potential village vigilante, but why did they target Crimsn in particular, and do you have good reason to trust them enough to be willing to immediately push this lynch? @tiny wilson, had you gotten any response pout of your PM to Roadwalker? I assume not, but it's worth checking.

Welp, this has thrown me off course. I was pretty sure something was up with Crimsn, but if both guest and Roadwalker where evil, that suddenly looks less likely. I should hopefully have time tomorrow for some in-depth player-by-player analysis (but I can't guarantee anything right now), but I do have time to look over the votes on Roadwalker. The first vote on them came By Elandera, who voted purely because of activity. This could have been a spammer poking another one, but given that whether or not to lynch an inactive D1 is always a source of discussion, evil!Elandera could have fabricated a reason to vote elsewhere as well. ITIAH pretty much got that lynch going properly, so I feel fairly confident stating that they were not evil. Metabard was the 4th vote, which would only really make some sens for evil!Metabard if Rae is evil as well, since he was trying to get pressure off of her. Assuming Rae is not evil, I see no reason why metabard would be. After that the tie shenanigans occurred. At that point two elims where up on the chopping block, so I don't think the way the votes moved during that bit is alignment indicative at this point, though I will say that I don't think there's more than 1 elim among the people active at that time (Alv, ITIAH, elephant, crimsn and furami) because with any more elims around they could have conceivable tried for a three-way tie. tl;dr: ITIAH and Bard are probably good.

So, it's going to be one of those games, is it? The final vote tally on Guest was HPoLT(Rae), tiny wilson, NotASteelClone, Gammalv and Jon @A Joe in the Bush, I assume 'Jon' is jondesu? If that's the case, some interesting vote manipulation happened there as well. I feel pretty good about most of the initial vote train (Rae, tiny wilson, steel and Gammalc), but we should keep in mind that it's happened before that an elim snuck on an early wagon like this to get themselves set for the rest of the game. I'd like to highlight @Crimsn Chanarach's vote, however, as they where the only one involved in the tie shenanigans that only voted to create a tie in favor of guest. Though they did a decent amount of analysis of the situation in the spot before their vote, they never seemed to seriously consider the possibility of guest being evil, and suggested that the voting happened more because of the village ' hating counterproductive roleplay more than inactivity'. This makes me pretty suspicious of them,as I'm seeing a bunch of low-key and not so low-key defenses of guest here.

New post, as I'll be voting retracting a vote in this one. First of all, Elandera. I understand the effects of posting while being sleepy all too well (which is why you should be taking everything in this post with a grain or two of salt). Guest seems a bit off. I get that they're sticking to a 'new player/new account' act, but that doesn't really give you leave for a bandwagon vote (since, for those that didn't bother checking, they are a regular of SE games). Mailliw772 I disagree with, but I don't think an elim would put themselves this much out there. Any other opinions will have to wait till tomorrow, as I'll need a clear head and sufficient amounts of time, so I think I'll refrain from voting this cycle, as right now I don't feel strongly about any one lynch.

When I was doing some reading into my opponents for the Maffia world championship last year two years ago, I actually read a game that was basically exactly that in a blackout format, so it took till about cycle 3 for people to figure out what was going on. It was a pretty awesome read. I don't think that's the case here, however, and I think the main reason for the blackout on village roles is to make villagers clearing themselves based on role more difficult, which can be an issue in a game with specific evil roles and specific good roles. I'm not certain what to think about the roadwalker wagon, as it seems purely motivated by activity. This cycle hasn't been without discussion, but voting on an inactive still feels like a bad decision. I'll take another look over what's happening and maybe change my vote.

I still don't get how that means it's better to know who sapphire elephant is?We know that right now, whatever they say is probably trustworthy, and if ever a bandwagon forms on their main account, they could always claim to protect themselves. But until said time, keeping their man identity under wraps protects them from both the elim kill and the convert.

As Kidpen says, I discourage public investigation, not your own research, because if my hunch that the anonymous account can't be targeted is correct, they're one of the few villagers that have a pretty decent chance of staying village, even with the conversion (which I'm almost 100% certain is in fact in play, because I think it might just be a bit too easy to hard-clear villagers otherwise). I also don't really see how not knowing who the person behind the anonymous account is would make the conversion more problematic. Can you explain that?

Pretty much this, which is why I'd discourage trying to publicly figure out Elephants main account. I'm going to vote on Elandera right now. Her read on Furami in aprticular seems too easy. Furami is pretty good at the whole analysis thing, so I don't think it's alignment indicative, and the direction he was arguing could be done b an elim as well. Villagers getting hard-cleared for good reason is bad for the elims after all.

I've got a theory about their exact role, but since elephant is probably village, I'll keep it to myself untill I see evidence to the contrary.

That's a shame, as it makes it harder to tell whether you targeted someone protected by Vodiyehi or Beirst or something else happened. Also, I was wondering about the reference to anonymous accounts in the PM rules. At a guess, I'd say the anonymous account is villager with a role that, among other things, doesn't allow them to be PM'd.

Hmmm, you're right. I realize that for some reason I was assuming that the elims knew who the person whose action they changed was targeting, and that's not the case as far as I can tell.

It seems the D1 voting shenanigans are already in full swing. Before I join in on those, I'd like to quickly go over the elim roles. Vodiyehi: Makes someone untargetable. This seems mostly a defensive ability, but that also makes it perfect for trolling the village by 'protecting' random villagers, so i urge some caution on lynching someone just for having been protected by this ability. @A Joe in the Bush, @xxGaea, will someone using an action that gets stopped be told about the exact case (roleblock, Vodiyehi, etc.)?Babaji: One conversion, one kill. It's fairly straightforward, and also not really an abilty we can easily detect.SookeSiled: If they target you, everyone on the forum who didn’t use their computer will also target you that night. This can be an incredibly powerful ability. If you have an ability that allows you to ban someone, please make sure to sue it every night to avoid letting the elims use it instead.Beirst1928: Immune to everything except the Lynch. If it's revealed why an action failed, this particular role can be detected relatively easily.Temptation: If they target you, your action will do exactly what you didn’t want. This is interesting, and something to keep an eye out for. If your action gets changed like this, consider the possibilities of them targeting you again the next night, especially if your action turned into a kill. If your action gets changed like this, I'd definitely report it int eh thread. The spambots will already have a pretty good idea of what you can do, so the information gained from speaking up would be most useful to the village, especially if the action can be proven, as that clears you to some degree.Vashikaran: A straightforward roleblock. I can't really see a way to use the markers of this ability to our advantage. There's another thing to keep in mind: the villager's abilities are unknown to the elims, so depending on the effects, they could be used to hard-clear some people. Alternatively, if the abilities are non-unique, it can once again be used top hard-clear some people by comparing notes. Therefore, I'd be willing to swap role-names, but not the actual abilities I might or might not have with anyone contacting me in PM's.

Quick Fix Game 36/Anonymous Game 5: Dream Thieves
DeTess replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Nah, I had some contact but nothing very useful. I just failed miserably at successfully hopping anywhere I would like to apologize for no being quite as active this game as I've been in others, but the majority of the stuff seemed to happen after I'd gone asleep every cycle. Finally, i'd like to say that this was a pretty fun game, and a nice showcase of what else you can do with the anonymous account mechanic. -

I absolutely love the 'lynch ends X minutes earlier than announced' mechanic. It's a pretty elegant way to add some risk to attempting a hammer. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll have time to play this one yet.

I don't think your chosen wincon was impossible, but you'd have needed to either become Hoid's faction, or do some hardcore diplomacy. If you could have formed a win-together coalition early with two other factions you could have been a very useful partner early on, while only needing minimal aid from them on the final cycle to win.- 1226 replies

Anniversary Game 5/Anonymous Game 4: One Final Blaze of Light
DeTess replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This was a pretty awesome game. I still think it's a shame the coalition victory didn't happen. For those wondering, we where serious about that. If the Stewards had spoken up and pledged to delay, we'd have done the same. It seems that it'd have also been possible for all surviving factions but the Joe cloud to win on the next cycle. Anyway, I did learn something interesting this game: Apparently it's really easy to weave a coherent story out of a spread of Tarot cards. Well, either that or this stuff actually works, but I doubt it . Anyway, I'd really like to thank everyone, including of course Seonid and Joe, for a great and memorable game that had me on the edge of my seat at the end.- 1226 replies
