  1. - the awakeners won't usually have an invested metal weapon, so no push/pull (no need to invest it to get that true). The raw number of Breath required is just too high, and if we allow that much investiture then we can consider fullborn as opponents, and that will be a very ugly fight of compounding vs invested metal. - cloth hard for coin : depend for the position of the cloth. Generally, the more tight and outstretched, the more easy to cut through (an arrow can easily go through a stretched sheet, but will decelerate an stop in contact to an unstreched one). But yeah, you can do a shield with that, and even a moving one. But as any shield, it might fail to be in the trajectory. So shield++, no absolute protection. - Shardblade vs invested cloth : hard to say, we have contradictory WoB on how edgy the Shardblade is in itself, if we take away its magic. It's the same question as "can a shardblade go through an aluminium sheet ?". I'd personally say yes it cuts even if not magically, but no definitive canon. Anyway, invested cloths can at least stop the magic of shardblade and that's a huge counter indeed. - pewter vs awakened : I'd say it depends on the number of Breaths. In my intuition, it's moreless equal. Maybe even a little defensive avantage to pewter as it gives you more resilience. - Plate vs awakened : no, Plate is insanely resistant. You can fall at the bottom of a chasm and it will not break, only leak stormlight. That's a huge fall. And if we fight a radiant, he will have stormlight to feed his Plate. So no, IMO awakened cloth won't go through Plate. - Honestly I don't see a lifeless army hold very well against a lone shardbearer. He will just cut through them and they will be unable to do anything to him. And that's not even using specific orders power - Every dead can be risen : yes... if you can access it and replace its blood by ichor. Not easy during a battle, and I doubt the ennemy will let you take back there deads. - lifeless koloss : good point probably, still vulnerable to shardblade - many vs many : the lifeless won't be a problem for a shardbearer. For mistborn that might be more problematic if they want to fight in close quarter, but they can flee the army by just flying over it. So I don't see how regeneration is dealt with, but maybe that huge numbers can be a problem for a mistborn (however, let's not forget the raw destructive potential of a mistborn, as shown by Vin during the attack on the Cett power. Hundreds of deaths in minutes) The breath trick is problematic. But remember that mistborn are Leecher, so I'm not sure that going close to them with your Breaths is a good idea. Moreover... How do you even touch a mistborn burning atium ? They are never off guard. I'd just say that it's fairer to get rid of atium, as I indeed with invested metal. We don't know how Plate interferes with anti-tones. So no Definetely here. Clearly something to take into account though. Moreover, antitune was unpleasant for Raboniel, but it didn't kill here at all. We don't even know if it neutralized her powers. A remark : you are giving many tricks to the awakeners (as knowing the anti-tunes, or Vasher's trick), and just taking "standard" radiants/mistborns. A witty Windrunner could just stay at distance (outside of anti-tune) and Lash several times huge rocks / metal to you. Even if assuming that the Lashing ends when close due to the anti-tune, the kinetic energy will make it continue its trajectory and smash you. Gravity is scary. I'm pretty sure that almost all orders can find tricks that we don't know of. (Elsecaller going into shadesmar and soulcasting the air into oil then fire from there ? Good luck to survive that) (I have to go home now, I'll answer the rest later. But as you see, I think you are being too optimistic)
  2. What Light : will be answered before the end of RoW. This book deals with the different Lights and what they are. What's her future, or Cultivation plans for her : many theories, no conclusive proof. Dalinar's future : same as Lift's future. However, since Honor is Splintered, becoming Honor vessel seems compromised.
  3. Wait, didn't he broke a former agreement ? The new one, made by Dalinar, is supposed to protect him, no ?
  4. In fact, that is the justification Kaladin used for himself when working with Moash on that assassination. And that killed Syl.
  5. Navani being a scientist but not radiant. Rlain becoming a Bondsmith and creating with Venli a third faction. Real Szeth content/character dev.
  6. I'd say she can move from the tower. As pointed above, Dalinar doesn't need to be in the highstorm; and from past we know that Melishi (former Sibling Bondsmith) was part of a strike team. If she emprisonned BAM, I'd say it didn't happened in urithiru (too dangerous for BAM to go there...)
  7. I think (or wish ?) that Dalinar will lose the duel and become a Fused. Odium winning means he stops the war with what he earned, remains bound, and takes Dalinar. I don't see how the other members of the coalition can't start a new war after that, hence the back five. And it would be oh so interesting to see the changes in society during those 10 years.
  8. But we all know the name : this ship is canon ! (That's my bad joke of the year, sorry )
  9. Nice questions ! About the dustbringers. Are we sure that they (as an order) serve the Diagram ? I remembered that we only saw one, which happened to serve the Diagram but can we generalize ?
  10. Jasnah swearing the 5th while facing Odium in Shadesmar was awesome ! Definitly the huge cosmere scene promised by Brandon !
  11. If it's anything like the third, the fourth will be a resolution of a mind conflict. Example for the third : - I want Elhokar to die, the world would be far far better off without him - He's one who cannot protect himself. What do I do ? The third ideal says that you should protect him anyway, that's the windrunner answer. But it doesn't make it easier, and in fact makes it harder, because you have to save people who you'd want to get rid off. And here, a utilitarist could also add that it makes protecting people harder : saving a few can mean huge damage to a majority, if the few makes bad actions/decisions. TLDR : swearing an Ideal doesn't remove an issue. It's just swearing you will act a certain way, and it won't be easier because of the Ideal.
  12. We're not sure that Sja-Anat corrupts the same way that Raboniel did. Given how she's shown to care about her "childrens", it would be coherent (in terms of writing) that Enligthment is not as violent as unmaking.
  13. I don't get it, can someone explain it ? (I'm not a native english speaker)
  14. Love that theory too. Dalinar losing would be an awesome end to the first 5 books of stormlight. Storms, I wish that Dalinar will loose ! On that point... I fear that Jasnah or Adolin would be more than willing to kill the child before Dalinar dies. Jasnah for cost/gain reasons, Adolin to save his father. (Kill, or plan an unfortunate deadly accident)
  15. Why not. That would be reassuring (and kind of disappointing since it would undo the catastrophic apparent issue of the epilogue). I just have one question : what then of the true terror that Wit felt ? We are getting his PoV so that's not a lie, is it ? Would he be that terrified if he knew it could happen ?
  16. I'd go for the opposite : better not to die today, to protect tomorrow. A dead soldier won't protect anyone anymore. Even if it is excruciating to have to stop saving some people to save your life. I mean, 3d and 4th windrunners oaths have to do with the difficulty to reconcile your instincts/intuition and the need to protect. But granted, it might be to close to the 4th.
  17. Could you bring me back a littlre souvenir ? A Honorblade would be perfect !
  18. That, or at least something she suppresses (i'm really really not a fan of the Formless taking control theories but maybe that's it). Veil notes it : Shallan is hiding something about all this.
  19. Kaladin will die before book 6, close to oath 4 (either just after swearing it or because he couldn't). A third singer faction swored neither to Odium nor the humans will emerge, with a Bondsmith of its own.
  20. IIRC, at the end of OB the Fused in Shadesmar were scrambled away by the opening of the Perpendicularity. If that's a feature of Honor's power, then this plan wouldn't work :/
  21. Did he ever need it on screen ? He has never been in a dangerous situation on screen.
  22. Against a fused, indeed, they would heal. But against non-surgebinders... That's terrifying. Use a lot of iron/steel marbles as bullets, and throw them by Lashing 4 or 5 times. At short range, it should be quite effective. (Well, that is if the surgebinder can take several bullets in his hand and lash them all at once, not one by one which would be ineffective). And with spears/darts, a reduced number of Windrunners/Skybreakers can snipe (from the sky !) the officiers in a ennemy army, changing the tide of battle. TLDR: I do not want to have to fight radiants without my own surgebinders to counter them x)
  23. Maybe they have, but that led to poor results (they never won any desolation...). So to avoid becoming mad, they went back to one of the only thing that could make sense to them : fighting with someone, not just trying to kill. That's just an hypothesis. But in the same kind of question to which we can't answer yet (too much time concerned with too little info)... why haven't the singers been genocied yet ?
  24. Why can't I upvote you more than once ?
  25. Well... he's already been there, so that's some experience. He's quite charismatic, that can be usefull. He's the son of the Stormfather Bondsmith (who also is the leader of the human coalition), Highprince Kholin, and cousin to the Alethi queen : that grants him a lot of authority to speak on behalf on. Finally, he can fight (very well) with conventionnal weapons in Shadesmar, while Shallan can't really defend herself without stormlight. The obvious drawback is that his bond to Maya will probably be seen as an insult.
