SH only has minor spoilers for BoM, but I’d recommend reading BoM first. Era 2 has no spoilers for RoW. RoW is the first book where there has been any issue of cross series spoilers, but those have all gone the other way. (Ie. RoW has been known to spoil plot elements from other series/books, but those series do not spoil SA.)

Or Ghostblood. Or at least the ones close to their boss.

“You are more than an Inquisitor,” Kelsier said firmly. “Just as my brother is more than Death and I’m more than the Survivor. What we are and who we are are two very different things. We are more than our roles and titles. “And you are more than that little slip of a girl I danced with in the Final Empire. Marie isn’t who you are anymore, no more than being an Inquisitor is. ”That’s why I like nicknames. It’s not who we are, but it holds a piece of it. And that piece can be more true than the name it masks.” Of course, Marsh actually used his nickname now and most would think it referred to his spikes. Most would be wrong. Kelsier had named his brother for Marsh’s iron will and a gaze that could always make him feel ashamed. His own name, Kelsier, had always been a noble’s name. It had fit him better than he’d liked to admit. But Kell... Kell was the charming conman, the cheerful thief, the man who ran scams with Dox. Dox had been the one to name him, in the early days of their partnership. “You really think you can get away with that noble’s name in the underground, Kell?” The man had said. It had been a long time since anyone but Marsh had used his nickname.

The Person Below Me

Very. TPBM is very excited to learn what Kelsier is up to in Era 3. -
Nope. The planet this location is on has Cognitive Shadows would also have been more accurate. The planet this location is on has had at least two Shards Invested in it. This location has not always existed on this world. At one point on page, this world had no perpendicularities.

Kelsier raised a brow. “Would you prefer something else, Marie? If it doesn’t suit you...” Sometimes it took a few tries to find the right name. He was going to find her one though, or have her choose one of her own. She wasn’t her spikes, but she wasn’t Marie either. She was more and less than both of them.

The Mafia didn’t have a strict code either. If you can swear to Omertà, you can swear to the Ghostbloods’ very similar code. Prior to this I was unaware you could swear to Omertà, which implies a lot of leeway on what the Skybreakers consider a code. Ghostbloods don’t harm Ghostbloods. Ghostbloods do not betray Ghostbloods. The second piece is basically Omertà, confirming my belief that the Ghostbloods are the Cosmere Mafia. Omertà, as you can see, does not have a lot of rules beyond “don’t talk to law enforcement ever.” Omertà (/oʊˈmɛərtə/, Italian pronunciation: [omerˈta])[a] is a Southern Italian code of silence and code of honor that places importance on silence in the face of questioning by authorities or outsiders; non-cooperation with authorities, the government, or outsiders, especially during criminal investigations; and willfully ignoring and generally avoiding interference with the illegal activities of others (i.e., not contacting law enforcement or the authorities when one is aware of, witness to, or even the victim of certain crimes).

Which means you could have a Ghostblood Skybreaker...

I don’t think Odium’s Vessel is dying a second time in two books. That smacks of lazy plotting and Brandon is too good a plotter for that. -

Kelsier rolled his eye behind his glasses. “Word of advice: never store the entirety of your Connection It may make you less afraid, but it also diminishes your ability to read a situation. ”Now, I suggest you apologize to Aspen. It might help with convincing her not to kill you.”

It’s funny, Kelsier sent thoughtfully, I hated those plants when the ash fell because I knew they were wrong. But now that they’re gone, I can look back and see the beauty. Mostly gone. Saze, being Saze, had Preserved some samples on volcanic islands. Kelsier had cultivated a few of those. If we’d known her then, do you think you could have converted her to the Larsta? Mare’s faith, where her flower had come from. It had become a symbol for his crew and their dreams. The symbol Kelsier still worked under, the dream he fought to Preserve. He scowled as Adillie spoke, pulling him from his reminiscing. “Do you want her to kill you?” He asked dryly. “Because you’re all but asking her to do so.” He finished wrapping the last spike, then stowed it away. “Aspen, I’m going to be dropping the bubble, so you should cover your eye-spikes.”

Kelsier frowned, disappointed and intrigued. So the Inquisitor didn’t much like remembering the lady. He’d have to work on that; her old skills were as useful as her new ones. More, in some ways. Kelsier may have been Fullborn for centuries now, but his greatest skills were the ones he’d honed as an ordinary thief. Deception, manipulation, guile. All the power in the Cosmere couldn’t save you from being outwitted and outplayed. He watched Marie thoughtfully, idly pushing and pulling on Ermyn’s pen as it spun in mid-air. What was she like back then? He sent to Saze. I danced with her a few times, I think, before the Pits. During that heist we pulled on the Lekals. Well, he had. Saze hadn’t been involved, except to offer some historical background. You were trying to convert me to the... Telesin faith, I think. The ones who worshipped the spirits of roads and who considered journeying their sacred duty. You said it was a good faith for someone who always wanted to see beyond the next hill.

Tournament: Cosmere Character Roast Battles
Kingsdaughter613 replied to Ashspren's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
It’s actually in the text of HoA, in chapter 22. But here are a few (you owe me; I hate looking these up): The Last Feruchemist? Sazed is likely not the last Feruchemist. The Lord Ruler tried for a long time to breed Feruchemy out of the population, and it's highly unlikely that now the power would simply vanish because the living Feruchemists were killed. The genetic trait is still there, suppressed in the population, but it would eventually resurface. That's not to say that the loss of the Synod wasn't a blow. That many living Feruchemists suddenly killed would wipe out a large segment of the population who could have bred Feruchemy true. However, the fact that many of the Synod were eunuchs made their usefulness in that regard less important. Remember, however, that Sazed is struggling with depression. It's easier for him to see things in a depressing light than it is to see them in a positive light. #feruchemy Sources: The Hero of Ages Annotations - Chapter 22 JediofChrist In Alloy, there are those who use both Allomancy and Feruchemy. However, I recall Sazed in The Hero of Agesstating that he believed he was the last surviving Feruchemist (I think he may have said "Keeper"?). Was he incorrect in his assumption of being the last Feruchemist (based on the fact that people use Feruchemy in Alloy) or could Feruchemy have been recessive in some Terris people? Brandon Sanderson It was most certainly recessive. But the specific way Sazed speaks there is important. Here’s something else: Dwarven_Hydra Is there any way to become a Feruchemist outside of Hemalurgy and genetics? Something in the vein of lerasium? Brandon Sanderson Yes, there are other ways to become a Feruchemist. Questioner How is a new Feruchemist made? Brandon Sanderson What do you mean? Questioner Well you can make a new Mistborn by lerasium-- Brandon Sanderson Oh, okay. Other than through birth? That’s a RAFO, good question though. Right now, as far as anyone knows, it’s by birth only. But-- Well we’ll leave it there. You know that the extra Preservation instead of Ruin had some effects on people on Scadrial. SquishyMouth Godmetal alloys in Era 1 feel a bit like an unfulfilled promise, can you tell us about the attribute stored in a metalmind made out of any atium/lerasium alloy? Brandon Sanderson No, not yet. (This is something I intended to get to in Era 3, and am saving for it.) Yoitsthew Would a Lerasium/Atium alloy create a Feruchemist, rather than an atium misting?? What with the way that it’s an alloy of god metals, and the way that lerasium can be used to acquire other magics? As far as I know there is no lerasium left currently, so this one is also just for my curiosity!! Brandon Sanderson You can use the god metals from Scadrial to make a Feruchemist, but I have to RAFO the actual means.- 2784 replies

Tournament: Cosmere Character Roast Battles
Kingsdaughter613 replied to Ashspren's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Yes. He was seemingly Fullborn when he went South and he was there for a few decades. Remember: the Southerners know he had those powers. There wasn’t time for Ferrings to be born and age to adulthood before he went South. The Bands were put outside the temple shortly after he left. There’s also the fact that that many spikes introduces too many weaknesses and Kelsier had a much better way to become Fullborn (by utilizing godmetals). Kelsier would not accept those weaknesses and he clearly doesn’t have any visible spikes beyond the one. However this was done, it wasn’t hemalurgy.- 2784 replies

As an older sibling... Yeah, no. He’s just glad his brother isn’t causing problems HE has to deal with. Not that he doesn’t wish Kell the best on his endeavors and isn’t happy his brother is doing well, but that isn’t why he’s of mixed minds, lol! For once he’s just completely not responsible and the side effects of Kell’s shenanigans are not directly impacting him. He also doesn’t have to worry as much, because Kelsier is on Scadrial so he’s not as directly involved and less likely to end up dead (again).

Ishar’s people.

Nope. But his brother is causing a lot of trouble there.

I am creating a Scadrian history for my tarot cards (which are an in-world deck). I would really appreciate any input on the history as written, and any ideas for the history to make it more cohesive and ‘realistic.’ The two threads dealing with the cards are here: Thank you!
