  1. Not exactly a meme, but... Brandon: Marsh is of multiple minds on what's happening with Kelsier at this time. Marsh: On the one hand, he’s causing trouble, running scams, and generally making a nuisance of himself. Marsh: On the other hand, it’s someone else’s planet. (I am 90% sure that’s what Brandon means by mixed minds. Marsh is so happy that Kelsier is too busy bothering other planets to wreck havoc on Scadrial.)
  2. Which Thaidakar acknowledged. But it is heavily implied in the books and it is the most reasonable explanation at present.
  3. The one spike isn’t enough to control him and is also necessary and unavoidable. It’s connecting his soul to his body, so he doesn’t really have a choice about that one.
  4. “What, not who,” Eryn explained. “Taking care of spikes.”
  5. “He isn’t too bad,” Kelsier said cheerfully. “I like him. He’s welcome to watch.”
  6. One: Thaidakar is not going to open himself to be controlled by Shards. Two: It would require more spikes than he visibly has. Three: He had access to Feruchemical powers there were no spikes for within ten years of the Catacendre and he doesn’t kill children. He did not use Hemalurgy. I suspect he figured out how to use God metals to become a Feruchemist.
  7. Indications are that the Sovereign was Fullborn, as it would take one to create the Bands. And we all know who the Sovereign is...
  8. “A few more minutes,” Kelsier told her. “I don’t want anyone walking in until I’ve taken care of these.” ”Then we go shopping,” Eryn agreed.
  9. Theory: Aona saw what was coming and created both the original Aonic language and the city of Elantris as preparation in case Odium succeeded. Her Shardpool is right near there too. (I’ve always thought Aona created Aonic, for some reason.)
  10. “True,” Kelsier agreed. “He’s also the mind directing that power - poorly, I might add. But then Saze was never especially fond of being in charge. Makes him a fair bit better than some other gods out there, but it has its downsides.” He pulled out a roll of aluminum foil and began wrapping the spikes Eryn had laid out.
  11. “ Shards aren’t metals,” Kelsier said bluntly. “They’re masses of Investiture and have an Intent of their own. Right now Saze is keeping them in Harmony, but that can always change.”
  12. So this isn’t exactly a typo, but a timeline issue. I was recently rereading WoA, and it’s mentioned several times that it’s been over a year since Kelsier’s death. Later on they pass the second anniversary of his death. But in SH Kelsier states multiple times that he spent a year in the Well, when WoA timeline would indicate that he actually spent two years there. Someone may have pointed this out already, in which case I apologize for the bother.
  13. ‘Thaidakar’ chuckled. “Pretty sure I’m the only Fullborn here, big brother. Probably, anyway, seeing as our creator hasn’t seen fit to canonize it.”
  14. Kelsier shook his head, his smile fading. “She’s not right, but she isn’t wrong either. Ruin and Preservation are joined now, but it takes everything Saze has to keep them in Harmony. Too much one way or the other, and the whole will fall to Discord.” He smiled grimly. “The balance is more tenuous than he allows this world to know.”
  15. Eryn chuckled, gently patting the girl’s cheek. “Sovereign will wear for you. He is king, ja?”
  16. Eryn chuckled. “Is just fancy word for crown.” She reaches into her pack, beginning to neatly stack the spikes on the pew.
  17. Eryn shook her head firmly. “Not appropriate.”
  18. @LewsTherinTelescope found the relevant WoB. Thanks Lews! I’m terrible at tracking those down.
  19. I think Marsh likes being annoyed. It’s his grumpy old man thing. Y’know, where he grumbles about everything, but secretly likes it?
  20. It’s essentially the same system, just manifesting differently in each area due to the region locking. They’re all different methods of programming the Dor. It isn’t a good example though, because it’s that way only due to very specific factors on Sel.
  21. No, to all, believe it or not. (And I’m sorry for forgetting about this...) The planet this location is on has Cognitive Shadows would also have been more accurate. The planet this location is on has had at least two Shards Invested in it.
  22. Oops. WTWTTSWY are forced to go underground due to committing accidental Sprenicide?
  23. Sel actually has only one we’ve seen. It just acts differently depending on location, but it’s the same system. Apparently the magic was somewhat different before D&D got shoved in the Cognitive. (Splintering didn’t change things; the power being put in the wrong place DID.)
