    Just something interesting to add to this discussion: (WoA annotations) ‘In book one, Vin learned to trust–and she learned one of Kelsier’s prime beliefs. That it’s better to trust, and be betrayed, than to always worry about everyone around you.’ This is a rather important part of Kell’s personality and something we should keep in mind.

    I was rereading the Mistborn annotations and came across this: “This grueling process is going to have a powerful influence on their characters, and make from them the people they need to become in order to deal with the events of the final book. In a way, that makes this the most important–and most interesting–book of the trilogy. It’s the one which is about character over plot.” I think this is applies very well to RoW too. I knew it was giving me WoA vibes for a reason! But I liked this book better than WoA on first read.

    My theory is that she only became this once Odium began fully Investing in Roshar. That’s why she could suddenly create Voidlight and Connect to the Singers.

    I think we’re all forgetting Sazed. He’s the only MB1 character with regular access to healing, but he remains a eunuch. Even upon Ascending and becoming a god he remains a eunuch. He was castrated when he was very young, so he has never perceived himself otherwise. Perception is definitely important.

    His page is still up on Tor though, which is odd. I guess we’ll find out. I hope he hasn’t; I really missed his touch in RoW. He’s an amazing editor. Reading Brandon’s annotations, it’s clear that Moshe added or suggested a lot of little things that really made the books so much better. So I’ll be sorry if he’s really done editing the Cosmere.

    So after accidentally detailing another thread, @GroundPetrel and I decided to make this an official thread of its own. This idea started with a simple premise: If Kelsier ever took up the Shard of Whimsy he would be the Q of the Cosmere. Naturally, that makes Hoid Guinan, and from there it spiraled. After all, if Star Treck were Cosmere, who would be Picard? (Jasnah.)     Like I said, it was years ago. I don’t remember very well. I’m honestly surprised I remember NG as well as I do. Do you want to start the Star Treck Cosmere thread, or should I?

    Honorblades are more heavily invested, I think. More than Shardplate Spren anyway, which is where this could play a role. Even if it’s just enough to briefly disrupt the plate, that could be enough.
