  1. (Wow, I have not talked in this topic in a while.) For my school’s play, I get to be the detective in a murder mystery, and my costume is basically a perfect cosplay of Castiel from Supernatural. It’s hilarious, my friends and I were cracking up when I got it
  2. Honorblades are made out of Honor’s soul, representations of an oath, Shardplate requires more oaths for Dalinar to learn about, Adonalsium’s mentioned! AND Honorblades make you nearly like a Herald but men don’t understand it WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAAAAAN
  3. How innapropriate.
  4. I’m now frantically reloading the link. I’ve waited for like 20 minutes, I’m up wayy to early, I want some chapters!
  5. Well, the reason that the ground is solid in the Cognitive Realm is due to the fact that there's no mental activity, it's not directly associated with water. The geography of the Cognitive Realm isn't a 1-1 correlation with Physical terrain, so being underwater in the PR doesn't mean anything, necessarily, in the CR. Even though you're under water, there's still roughly the same lack of Cognitive Activity, so you'll appear above ground in the CR.
  6. Okay. I'm finally free to post my reactions. On the surface, it felt like a lot less happened in these 3 chapters than last week's. However, we did still get a lot of interesting tidbits, which I'm sure others have already mentioned. In no particular order, That yellow spren is obviously able to talk and think, and somehow sensed Kaladin, but why is it hanging around and protecting the listeners? I wouldn't think a voidspren would let them just play cards, it'd have more evil intentions. Pattern is certainly an enthusiastic chaperone, though maybe not so much of an effective one. As funny as the "no mating" thing is, it also shows us that he's learning more about humans and their customs, able to figure out what Shallan meant by "innapropriate", even though it took him a little while Kaladin's chapter was too short. And cliffhangered us. WHY ISN'T IT NOVEMBER YET STORM IT The little tidbits from the in-world Oathbringer are pretty vague, though they seem to be suggesting Dalinar's the author. Idk. Shallan's terrible, terrible coping mechanisms definitely had something not-natural to them. She called Adolin "Brightlord Kholin" completely instinctively, which is very unlike her. Though it is like "Brightness Radiant". I'm glad we got a lot of Adolin this time. The whole 'walking in on Shallan' bit was pretty entertaining.
  7. No! I missed the early theorization! Curse you, calculus class! and I hit my rep limit already, too
  8. How were you able to get that much? The picture is way to blurry for me to make out even the first line!
  9. After scrolling through piles of WoBs, I can only say that I don't know. It is possible to bond more than one (dead) Shardblade, you can have multitudes, but you'd have to summon each one separately, and I don't know where they'd be summoned to. Short answer- no clue
  10. Soon... the theorizing will break out again, flying upvotes will darken the sky, and a horde of Sanderfans will over-analyze 3 chapters for a week, before moving on to their next prey.
  11. Well yeah, but that all depends on just how infuriating I can get
  12. I'd really like to see our theories realized, and some character getting Shardplate. I imagine a grand, climatic scene, the Radiant speaking an oath, or doing something cool, or whatever causes Shardplate to appear. They do the thing, (bonus points if it's Jasnah or Lift or someone unexpected) and Shardplate just forms into existence around them, and then they proceed to kick some serious Voidbringer butt. That'd be cool.
  13. I'm the King's Wit! Insults for everyone! Though people can legally kill me, now... that's not good.
  14. When you may occasionally go inactive on the Shard, but as soon as more Sanderson content appears, your obsession is back full force. (Me and Oathbringer chapters)
  15. Sparkspren, who appear around electricity or lightning?
  16. I though the Windrunner Resonance was confirmed to be having a bunch of super-strong squires?
  17. This is what I think, too. It seems more likely that with what we know of Shardplate, it's some form of Investiture made solid, and somehow modified to have special properties. From what Syl also says in that same part about leaving her babies in a highprince's shoe, it seems more like she was talking about newly formed honorspen and not a couple pieces of Shardplate. Though I guess the highprince would rather find some Shardplate in his shoe than a couple of not-windspren
  18. I wish we'd get a Lift PoV, but we know who will be the PoV characters in this part, and Lift's not one of them. So the soonest we'll get a chance to catch up with everyone's favorite Edgedancer and her Shardfork, we'll probably be in the 1st Interlude or the 2nd part.
  19. I don't know that it was "confirmed", and Jasnah was also busy chatting up highspren, but she's probably still pretty clueless. I hope he's not dying. Unless he basically completes his arc this book, it'd seem like some wasted potential to have him die.
  20. @FrostlanderYikes, yeah. I can't imagine that if this Desolation will be anything like the others, the kingdoms we know will be able to stick around. I am curious what will happen with those two kingdoms always described as fighting. The Emul and Tukari? Or something? Will all of Roshar band together against this threat, or will infighting just make everything that much harder? I can see this as being the nice part of the book. We have Kaladin smiling, and Adolin and Renarin being brotherly, and things are just way too happy. It's gonna hurt when things go sideways.
  21. Well they have around 7 Honorblades, and presumably know how to use them. Dalinar & Co might not do so well, unless they were somehow able to control the fight so that they could use the Honorblades's ridiculous Stormlight needs against them. Though when your enemy has access to all the Surges but Gravitation, I don't know how you could control the fight against them. Also, they'd probably outnumber the Radiants considerably, with only Shallan and Renarin able to summon Blades, and neither one very skilled at swordplay.
  22. Elhokar's actually not changed his position. He still is the king of Alethkar, he's just accepted a highking above him instead of letting Dalinar walk all over him. I think he's actually leading more, since he's taking responsibility for his kingdom more. Your second point does make sense. I guess I totally forgot that Jezrien had been the king of Heralds. It'll be interesting to see how Dalinar and Kaladin's relationship will evolve. I can't ever see Kaladin leading Dalinar, though...
  23. For some reason, I never pictured Kelsier as blond. I have no clue why, though.
  24. Kaladin refers to Dalinar as his commanding officer basically all the time, and there's no problem there. There's nothing wrong with being a leader who's not the very top of the totem pole. Besides, Elhokar also made Dalinar agree that he (Elhokar) would be sovereign in Alethkar, and Dalinar would have to go through him. That's pretty leader-y.
  25. And within days, Alethkar becomes the best-run kingdom in all of Roshar.
