  1. When did Fox get the rights for Uatu? I thought they just had the rights for the FF and all the mutant characters.
  2. I've been reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab all day today. ~80% done at this point and I've quite liked it so far.
  3. Oh boy. Y'all probably know all the riddles I can think of... Oh well, here goes: In marble halls as white as milk, Lined with skin as soft as silk, In a fountain crystal clear, A golden apple doth appear. No doors there are to this stronghold, Yet thieves break in and steal the gold.
  4. In a similar vein, people who trumpet their support for Hillary Clinton as the next US president and then when you ask them why the only "reason" they can think of is "She's a woman." That's JUST as sexist as not voting for her purely because she's a woman!
  5. I agree--those trailers did not pique my interest at all. The ones for Doctor Strange and X-Men: Apocalypse, on the other hand... Now THAT'S a different story.
  6. Oh! I know this one. 1. Pick a random switch and turn it on. Leave it on for an hour; then turn it off again. 2. Pick one of the other two switches and turn it on. 3. Immediately go into the room with the light bulb. If the light bulb is off and cold, then the switch you didn't touch is the one that connects to the bulb. If the bulb is off and warm, then the switch you left on for an hour is the one. If the bulb is on, then the switch you just turned on connects to it. My turn to post a riddle?
  7. I used to do that all the time when I lived with my parents. Just not at midnight. I also like pickle juice. (Not at the same time as the peanut butter, mind you.)
  8. A cello cover of the Muse song "The Resistance" by 2Cellos.
  9. Because I read Words of Radiance before Warbreaker, the enormity of the epilogue was completely lost on me until I saw someone at a signing wearing the shirt with 8-bit Szeth and the caption "Would you like to destroy some evil today?"
  10. Recovering her composure somewhat, Sunbird continues singing at the top of her lungs. "WE DO WHAT WE MUST BECAUSE WE CAN!"
  11. I'm gonna guess the TV show "Lost" even though I haven't ever watched it.
  12. Game of Thrones
  13. Just started reading A Darker Shade of Magic and was utterly delighted with the opening page:
  14. Unfortunately, I don't know about how Institute relates to the housing situation... But I can offer you this possibly helpful information: you might try the OMNI apartment complex on 500 west in Provo. I know plenty of people who live in that complex that are not BYU students. But if you're not 18 yet, I don't know how that would affect your legal ability to rent an apartment. Also, nobody at OMNI has their own apartment, so you will have to find some roommates you like or can at least put up with. Specifically, in the atrium, which is on the ground level at the front (east side, facing the library and the mountains) of the building.
  15. I was late to the Sanderson party, so my collection is not as extensive as some people's will be, but here goes: (In order that I read them for the first time) Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians paperback old edition, signed Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians new illustrated hardcover, unsigned (not yet, at least!) Alcatraz vs the Scrivener's Bones paperback old edition, signed Alcatraz vs the Knights of Crystallia hardcover old edition, signed Alcatraz vs the Shattered Lens hardcover old edition, signed Mistborn: The Final Empire mass market paperback, signed Mistborn: The Well of Ascension mass market paperback, signed Mistborn: The Hero of Ages mass market paperback, signed Mistborn: The Alloy of Law mass market paperback, signed The Way of Kings trade paperback, signed (Words of Radiance Kindle edition--putting it here because this is the order in which I read it and I don't have a paper copy yet) Warbreaker mass market paperback, signed (Legion Kindle edition) The Rithmatist paperback, signed Steelheart paperback, signed (Mitosis Kindle edition) Mitosis comic book Elantris mass market paperback, signed Firefight hardcover, signed #400 The Emperor's Soul + Legion combo (UK edition), signed (Legion: Skin Deep Kindle edition) (Perfect State Kindle edition) (Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell Kindle edition) (Mistborn: Shadows of Self Kindle edition) Calamity hardcover, signed (Mistborn: Bands of Mourning Kindle edition) (Mistborn: Secret History Kindle edition) (Sixth of the Dusk Kindle edition) I would post a "shelfie" too, but I loaned my mom my Reckoners books so she could read them, so they're in Ohio right now... XD Oh! Forgot to add--I also have Steelhunt cards for Regalia, Prof, Megan, and David; the 4-piece set of Reckoners buttons; a Bands of Mourning button; a Reckoners "Remember everything. Forgive nothing." bumper sticker on my car; a T-shirt from the Bands of Mourning midnight release; a Windrunner glyph necklace from Badali Jewelry; Reckoners postcards of Newcago and Babilar; and 2 Sanderson cosplay outfits: Prof and a Mistborn.
  16. When I get a friend request on Facebook that appears to be from someone I know, but then I go and check my friends list and I'm already friends with that person. Stupid fake accounts.
  17. Granted. You get no reward because you made no real wish, but your bane is this: how much attention people pay to you is now inversely proportional to the importance of what you have to say. In other words, the more important your words are, the less attention people pay to you. I wish for the temperature in Utah to stay between 60 and 70 degrees this summer.
  18. Sunbird jumps about three feet in the air at Nashan's shout, causing her voice to shoot up an octave as she sings, "I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!"
  19. Ooh! I can do this! 1. Navy 2. Cerulean 3. Indigo 4. Lazuli 5. Sky-blue 6. Ice-blue 7. Aquamarine 8. Teal 9. Royal blue 10. Baby-blue WLIU, name 10 different birds. (Should be easy; they are the most diverse group of vertebrates in existence today!)
  20. I think this would get even more of a "What in Calamity??" reaction from the public than many people thought Guardians of the Galaxy would receive.
