Long Game 38: In the beginning...
DrakeMarshall replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I take no issue whatsoever at obstinancy. You are, of coarse, utterly and perfectly free to disagree with anything I say at any time, for whatever reason. I am merely suggesting that some forms of disagreement are more productive than others. The explanation I can give is somewhat limited by the questions you ask, because roleclaiming results in death. However, I believe I can say this much. A player starts with 3 votes. Over the course of two action slots, one as a result of a ketek, this can be doubled a total of 4 times. That's 3*(2**4), or 48. But there's 2 of us, so 96 votes in total. I find it extraordinarily perplexing that anybody would find the push for a reconsideration of this game remotely like a dictation. It is quite probably in my power to force a rule into this game, because my vote manipulations quite probably apply to rule voting as well, by the wording of the rules. But I'm quite pointedly not doing that. I am instead asking that people consider voting on a rule that will immediately result in giving people another vote. I'll be going now, but I would be interested in discussing this later.- 713 replies

Long Game 38: In the beginning...
DrakeMarshall replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well... I guess that's that for now, cuz I got stuff to do and won't be in this thread. Night Len. Now, I'm just sorta walking into all this, and don't take this the wrong way or whatever. But it strikes me that y'alls should all chill out some. I am seeing people making more effort to cast blame then they are to understand where the other might actually be coming from. Anyways, I'll be going now. See you all in a little bit.- 713 replies

Please note that the Brotherhood of Peace is in the possession of a conversion power. Also please note that we are in fact trying to restructure the game, according to a vote by all players, that I will not be using my absurd vote manipulation powers to sway in any way. Thank you for your consideration.- 713 replies

Long Game 38: In the beginning...
DrakeMarshall replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I was planning on fulfilling a vendetta in a spectacular fashion at the end of this cycle. But I'm going to hold off on that, because I've decided on taking a very different approach to this game. And so. Straw King Cole Hemalurgic_Headshot Hastur Hastur Hastur little wilson winter devotion Jondesu Orlok Tsubodai Sart Ecthelion III Flash Sami Bartimaeus Darkness Ascendant randuir Roadwalker Majestic Drake Marshall Eternum DroughtBringer Elithanathile Elenion Aonar Faileas Bort Grumpy Dula Clanky Magestar Arinian Lemonelen Megasif Brightness Radiant The Young Bard None shall be boring today! I'm not just doing this for kicks, though; I do this to illustrate a point. We all signed up for this game expecting something less structured. Even so, this game could be made more fun than it is right now. There are broken roles, one of which I just demonstrated by casting so many votes (that's not even my limit ). There are lots of action restrictions and extra lives, making the game progress very, very slowly. And there isn't really anywhere much to progress to, especially since the only two real rivals, the Brotherhood of Peace and the Worldsmiths, are now working together. So yeah. As much as this game has been fun, we can make it better, yeah? Anyway, I've talked this all over with Elenion, and we have a plan. So, @Elenion, I do believe it's your turn to present that plan. Y'alls should listen to him and stuff. EDIT: LOL I haven't been reading this thread. Len's already said stuff. But yeah. This is a good thing for the game. Pls get behind it, or at least discuss why you disagree if you do.- 713 replies

Hmmm can bunnies eat other bunnies though? That would kind of screw with things. And a literal read of the rules would certainly imply that this is possible.- 713 replies

Shallan. I don't know why, but it just feels like that's accurate. Who would be able to pull off a better con, Shallan or Kelsier?

DrakeMarshall replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Seeing as rule #1 is my rule, I'm voting for it. I forgot to do that, the last time I proposed a rule. Plus, unlike my last rule, this one actually stabilizes the game and improves it. EDIT: Also, to y'alls that tried to vote, it's nighttime... And while I quite agree with the notion that night time provides the best atmosphere for a good old fashioned torches and pitchforks lynch mob, the rules seem to say otherwise (unless you change them )- 713 replies

Does that mean he is disqualified, or that he automatically wins Maybe a fairer competition would be Marsh versus Clod. But I digress. That isn't going to be my question. By what metric do you measure effectiveness? Lift doesn't need babysitting and neither of them would be remotely capable of imposing babysitting upon her. I think Elhokar would be more effective, simply because he is more likely to recognize that it is a losing battle, and thus give up before he wastes too much time on it. Who is a better chef, TenSoon or Axies the Collector.

The dead doc would naturally be called limbo, I hope. Also what if the dreamer was an actual, uninformed player (possibly with some rather interesting abilities... in the very least, a vote manip), and part of the eliminator team's goal involved locating / doing something to the dreamer?

Hrm? I don't recall reading this thread. Oh, also, while I'm here: That's a good one. On one hand, Vasher definitely has the experience, going door-to-door and asking people to please kindly not start another World War. On the other hand, door-to-door sales has it's share of trickery, bluster, and false smiles involved, and Kelsier might possibly be one of the best there is at these arts. I'd say Kelsier. Who would win in a staring contest, Marsh or Kaladin.

Drake shall not be boring. Also, huzzah for ironic RP. I don't know what to do yet. Ati was making pancakes. They were a most excellent new invention, these pancakes. Perhaps he would need to invent something similar. Or perhaps he should start a pancake making business. Yes, that was a good idea. He put up a sign to advertise the new business. It was, of coarse, in perfect ketek form. Or mostly perfect. Who was counting, really. "Pancakes to eat / buy them here / I'm selling pancakes / here you buy them / to eat pancakes" Ehh, that was too short but whatevs- 713 replies

Long Game 38: In the beginning...
DrakeMarshall replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Interesting, I don't think any rules as of yet define a condition that ends the game. That aside... Is it fair to say that the one rule proposal will now inevitably be passed? I mean, even if it got 0 votes, it would still be in the "top three" so yeah. And I doubt it would get 0 votes. I'm proposing a rule that should rectify this issue (because, as the game wears on, that could become an issue). Also I will marry pretty much anyone. Though I'd prefer if they were RPing a character of a gender opposite to Ati's. EDIT: Oh also, the game has open PMs, right? I'd be somewhat interested in contacting the Worldsmiths, though I understand if y'alls choose to be reluctant about that. I wish for us to reach an understanding. Namely, I'd like to suggest that if I give you guys an item you may have incentive not to kill me.- 713 replies

Nah I lied about that. Well, I didn't actually lie, per se. I may have mentioned that I made an effort not to tell a straight lie in this game. But I gave you the wrong idea, shall we say? The vote retraction business was unfortunate, but ah well. It was very fun working with Alvron in our doc. Some of those neutral roles were a blast. Although, I PMed Flash as early as I could, and he never responded I tried to get Alv and Mark to not kill each other, but it was difficult, since I had reasons not to want to reveal one to the other. Plus I could only spend so much time trying to find a solution to this. It was interesting with this many neutrals. In some sense, I felt a little cornered, because, while I could appeal to everybody as much as I wanted, most of them simply didn't care if I was a reckoner or not. And wouldn't bother risking it by taking a side. But as I said before, some of those neutral roles were also fantastically fun, so. There's definitely that. Plus, our enemies no doubt had the same problem. I just didn't have the presence of mind to accuse somebody before I myself was accused... I was more focused on directing our faction kill. That was, perhaps, a mistake. Although I do feel slightly accomplished in that a few cycles ago, I guessed the 3 remaining cabal members and 2/3 of my guesses were accurate. In any case, it's been a fun game. Well done, Seonid. I'm sure this was a hectic game to GM but I think it came off well. Well played, to all y'alls. Also to my fellow reckoners, it's been an honor. Y'alls were good team mates.

This isn't mistborn, it's stormlight archive. But it's also so storming perfect. So like, the other night I went to the beach. It was a special red tide event that happens once every seven years, with bioluminescent algae. And when I moved about in the water, it left glowing trails behind me. And I was like, "this is just like stormlight." Yup, you know your a sanderson fan when that happens.

...and here I was hoping that the voting rule wouldn't have specified day cycle. Somebody thought to close that loophole I guess. Foiled again. Why are there only 7 rule proposals with this many players Anyways I hold that, in the interests of keeping the game both interesting and at least slightly organized (I requested to join chaos but was too late ), we should typically claim what rule we are voting for, if we are going to vote for any rule. Because otherwise a single vote can unilaterally pass a rule if all the other votes went on a really popular rule. Since To be honest I'd like to see both of those proposed factions implemented this cycle. I also kind of want to see the ketek rule in play. I also like in-game rewards for RP. And I only have one vote. This is why I think we need to discuss what rules we are voting on, to make sure we can pass all the ones we actually want. I'm just gonna say I'm voting for the Dragon faction (I mean, I put it there, hehe. 'Cuz I mean, pre-shattering there were dragons, right?). But I want to see some of those other rules passed as well. Also I share the concerns about the last rule's wording.- 713 replies

Quick Fix Game 26: Stop the Madness
DrakeMarshall replied to firstRainbowRose's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hmmm... Does Requiem want to make a return to Threnody? Hehe... Not sure where in his timeline that would be. We'll see if I sign up for this though. I've been more busy and might dial back off signing up for every game that runs -
Don't think so. And in that case. Here's the thing. My PoE, in addition to my considerable information about this game, has lead me to conclude that Elenion is pretty much certain to be the SK. I reached this conclusion some time ago, but I really didn't want to reveal this, because, seriously, SKs are so much fun. I would have been fine keeping quiet about it, really. But... Pretty sure Len's vote still technically counts as on me, so I'm about to die. And I'm not about to let him kill me and get off free, hehehe. But yeah, Elenion is the Serial Killer. There's the fact that his self-proclaimed win condition doesn't really match up with what I am pretty certain would be the win condition of a real loyal citizen. This basically proves that he is lying about his role. There's the fact that he's the only Loyal Citizen claim. I know Seonid is a troll, but that's not how he trolls. I can see him making "Loyal Citizen" a fictional role and giving a bunch of neutrals Fake IDs so that everybody believes Loyal Citizen is a real thing. I can't see him making one player an actual vanilla town in a game like this. That isn't really that funny to me, because it unnecessarily degrades the experience of one player. Now, I know that would be a valid game decision (after all, some elimination games are mostly vanilla town) but I really don't feel like Seonid would do what Elenion is claiming. I may not be the best at analyzing people, but I can analyze a game for certain. There are... Other reasons, but the cycles about to end. Peace out folks. It's been an honor.

Goodmorning You never voted on Cole Also I have a plan for this handoff, but its probably too late for this cycle I mean, they're not dead, so yeah. Unless there's some convert power on the loose, they're still in-game Anyway, it's kind of depressing that I wake up and barely anything has happened Peace out folks. Len, if I die somehow, please keep the game interesting in my stead I know you aren't bound by your earlier promise since we never really finalized a deal. But you've been doing a good job of it this last cycle, and if you keep it up you have my gratitude. Fun fact. I don't think I've told a straight lie in this game yet. It's been fun to experiment with different approaches to games.

I'm sorry, but that was kind of a lame sounding promise. Please find a more interesting way to promise that you intend to be interesting. He was both informing to and about the reckoners. I'm actually kind of ticked that Alv told them who PK was. I had plans for PK.
