  3. So they put the water in the lichen (that's why they lose water when they Master) to later draw it out of the lichen? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it does seem rather uneffective, seeing how you're basically getting back the same amount you've lost. Unless you can squeeze a bit more out of the lichen than you give it, in which case this would make sense.

  5. I'm inclined to agree that this is an artifact from the prose version, which was, after all, written back when Brandon's physics weren't as solid and well-checked as they are now. If we're looking for an in-universe explanation, I like @jofwu's idea that Kenton's just making stuff up as he goes for the Darksiders.
  6. The marks were done with Dalinar's knife, though, weren't they? That's why Dalinar was so quick to jump on the "it was me" theory, IIRC.

  8. Hello, and welcome to the new edition of the Hurt and Heal game! This time, we're playing with the published books, short stories and the lone graphic novel set in the Cosmere (so, no Oathbringer and no Reckoners). Here's the rule redux: Every work starts with 5 HP; in your turn, take 1 HP from a work and add it to another work's HP Bold your choices, and state them above the list, just so everyone's clear what you've done Wait at least 2 posts and 10 minutes before posting again Once we're down to two works (or when we're bored with the pace of the game), we start hurting by 2 HP Here's the list, and I'll start by healing Edgedancer and hurting Eleventh Metal. 1. Elantris - 5 2. Hope of Elantris - 5 3. Emperor's Soul - 5 4. The Final Empire - 5 5. The Well of Ascension - 5 6. The Hero of Ages - 5 7. The Alloy of Law - 5 8. Shadows of Self - 5 9. The Bands of Mourning - 5 10. Secret History - 5 11. Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania - 5 12. The Eleventh Metal - 4 13. The Way of Kings - 5 14. The Words of Radiance - 5 15. Edgedancer - 6 16. Warbreaker - 5 17. Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell - 5 18. Sixth of the Dusk - 5 19. White Sand vol. 1 - 5 The total of points is 95, if anyone needs/wants to know.
  9. If we're in agreement, then I'll go ahead and make a new thread.
  10. Heal Bendalloy, kill Cadmium. 15. Cadmium--0 16. Bendalloy--4 Wow. That was, I think, the first time where I honestly wasn't sure who'd win until the last post. What do we want to do now, Cosmere books?

  14. Heal Bendalloy, hurt Cadmium. 15. Cadmium--16 16. Bendalloy--20 Reminder for everyone, just in case - we are, in fact, hurting by 2 and healing by 1, as to avoid an impasse.
  15. I'd say it'd be several sports. The chief different between Bending and Metallic Arts, when it comes to sports, is that all forms of bending are ultimately variations on the same theme, while there's far more vairety in the Scadrian powers. I could see some form of sport for pewterarms, steelrunners, coinshots and lurchers - a version of football/basketball. Each team has a set amount of pewterarms and steelrunners, and a set amount of coinshots and lurchers. The field is dotted with metal columns a la Kredik Shaw's spires, to let the fliers move about freely, and there's a pair of goals/baskets/nets where the ball (which doesn't contain metal) has to be delivered. The players can't grab the ball with their hands, and the ball can't touch the ground. The team with the biggest amount of points scored wins, of course.
  16. Heal Bendalloy, hurt Cadmium. 15. Cadmium--18 16. Bendalloy--21 I like it how head-to-head the metals are going; I still have no idea who's going to win.
  17. I think we'd have to summon a moderator.
  18. I think this topic should be in Edgedancer spoiler board... On our planet alone, eye has been evolved several times; it's not too far-fetched that similar shapeshifting mechanisms would be discovered separately on various worlds. Everyone's working with the same rules, after all. And there's also the fact that the Dysian Aimian and kandra shapeshifting are not as similar as they look at a first sight once you get into the nitty-gritty of it. As for the number of Aimians, it's a tough question. Considering the nature of the Sleepless, there could very well be less than ten of them, but "massive" enough that they'd be spread out all over the continent. As for Siah Aimians - Axies' kinsmen - if they weren't immortal, I'd guess few hundred, but as they are, they could very well number in dozens. I'd be leaning towards a hundred or so; if they were really rare, Rysn would probably have more of a reaction to seeing Axies.

  20. Heal Bendalloy, hurt Cadmium. 15. Cadmium--2716. Bendalloy--22 I'd say we stick to the Cosmere books and stories, excluding non-Cosmere ones; we could leave those for the next round.

  24. You know that website where you can put a picture and it guesses what dog is presented? I put a Dalinar fanart into it, and the result was stupidly hilarious, at least for me. I mean, I'm pretty sure Dalinar can cause damage when jumping, especially when he's in full Plate...
