  1. We don't know. It certainly doesn't happen the same night as chapter 75, because one night has a highstorm and one doesn't.
  2. They use a U for the W sound. And C is generally from the translation into English.
  3. Go check how Rock talks in the first book.
  4. The split of Kaladin's second chapter that I suggested didn't happen. Instead, the issue that was meant to fix got fixed in a different way.
  5. This is correct, or rather, it's the capacity of the bindery rather than the press. Using the same specs as the first book, it came out at 1099 pages. They got it down to 1087 by letting some of the art pages fall on the right side rather than requiring them to all be on the left side, and starting interlude chapters on the left if necessary. This was deemed acceptable. But it does mean it could have been ONE page longer.
  6. Actually it's RAY-OH-den. The vowels of the aon have equal stress. The extra syllable in the name is unstressed.
  7. We're watching Space Brothers as well, but not super religiously. It's a relaxing show. And it's funny that the thing that broke my suspension of disbelief most was the way they mow the lawn at the Johnson Space Center. Well, that and the depiction of the Texas Road House restaurant. But I should also note that Space Brothers is the hardest of hard SF anime there is, at least since Planetes. There is plenty of room for hard SF in the field, so I'm pleased to see the niche being addressed.
  8. Ask this question again after you read book two.
  9. That text is really old and seriously needs to be updated. The most recent text is on Brandon's website.
  10. She wasn't talking about that at all, but something different that comes up later in the book.
  11. Hahahahahaha...oh my. Um, the Eye of the World audiobook had the exact same narrators as Way of Kings.
  12. The problem is, we're not really sure how to update that sidebar. The web dude said he would do it later today.
  13. The 46 hours is an estimate...I'd guess at least 48 hours, comparing it to the first book. They're still recording the book but should be done by the end of January. I've been trading a ton of emails with Kate & Michael this week (mostly Kate) about pronunciation and stuff like that.
  14. I read the first half of the Orbit version of Theft of Swords, up to the end of the first book (when it was self-published). I thought the beginning was strong and quite enjoyed it up past the introduction of Myron (I thought he was a great character). Then the stuff after that seemed kind of perfunctory. The trial was very tedious and didn't have fallout at the end of the book. Still, I did enjoy a number of the characters, so I have the book on my shelf to read the second half of after I finish a few books by different authors. But I'm not sure I will get to it. Also, the worldbuilding seemed only right around the level of Forgotten Realms, which doesn't really cut it for me.
  15. He didn't read Pratchett as a kid, but started a number of years ago. Brandon read the first ASoIaF book and thinks George is a genius writer, but the content is just not the type of thing he wants to read. Also, Brandon thought the first Goodkind book was a rather good read, but he never felt like continuing. Right now Brandon is not really reading series. He's reading a bunch of different books from a bunch of different writers. It's more like reading for research on what's happening in the field than reading for fun. If he needs to take a break and read for fun he'll probably pick up a Pratchett or Kay.
  16. Isaac needs to put it up. But this is going to be the last unlockable. It looks like for the Words of Radiance tour, we're going to have twice as many codes as we need, and we're probably going to just make it public—new codes will unlock new items, but once something is unlocked everyone can see it without a code. However, this is not set in stone and could be subject to change.
  17. The Taravangian interlude is much longer, but wouldn't work as a complete excerpt, because spoilers.
  18. Pfft. You haven't seen the hook(s) yet.
  19. Heh. We likes us some preview chapters. This is not the last of them.
  20. Thanks. Any other liveblogs, please keep me informed.
  21. Her hand wasn't uncovered. If it had been, Shallan would have noticed and remarked on it.
  22. Looks like we are not getting a new bookmark. But there is something else cool planned.
  23. No, he said the Stormlight books would be every 18 to 24 months. However, I personally think that Stormlight 3 will come out in fall 2016. After that I expect every 24 months. We need to get the production time longer (between when Brandon finishes the book and it gets published) so we aren't running around like crazy.
  24. Don't expect "body focus" to play a role in the second book. Check the Ars Arcanum of the second book.
  25. Titles can be reused. But actually now there is a different working title. People will have to ask Brandon about the new working title at a signing.
