  1. It's not actually the idiom at all. It just means "on this side of" and the "on" is colloquially left out. That's not an error on page 920 or 781.
  2. Brandon uses "cluck" only once in the series. That reference in RoW is fine.
  3. tenaz and PicturePerfect, we have reported both of those errors to Tor and will give them a new chapter arch image. CosmereGirl, the difference is due to the recent correction of a continuity error (which I believe was reported early in this thread). The new typo doesn't exist in the new hardcover or trade paperback PDF; the word "saw" is supposed to be "so," but when they were updating the ebook with the corrections they made a typo. I've also reported that to Tor.
  4. Basically, he expected Jaskkeem to be the ninth (he did not expect the elderly woman to fight), but then he just told Jaskkeem to follow Noura before he picked up a Blade, so he knows Jaskkeem isn't one of the nine new Shardbearers.
  5. Maybe they have something they call a lat press that we would call by a different name.
  6. thegreatone, that's just a standard English turn of phrase. For example: I can't betray my friends to the enemy. Not and still be able to sleep at night. Thanks. This is an easy one to miss.
  7. I asked Brandon about the mainlander bird issue, and he said it's correct as written.
  8. Brandon said this was on purpose. You're right, we'll need to fix this.
  9. The lack of a question mark is intentional, for the sake of intonation. Yeah, most of the fixes haven't been made yet. And you're right that that fits the definition of a comma splice. In this case Brandon's doing it on purpose. No, seriously, the word "it's" does NOT appear in the full size hardcover ISBN 978-1-250-31918-0 on that page in that sentence. I just checked it right now. If your book says that, please take a photo of that page and post it.
  10. Treamayne is correct. The word "it's" does not appear in the ebook or hardcover. Does it actually appear in the version you read? Thanks. I'm reporting it.
  11. The pictures you posted should suffice. What device is that? Thanks.
  12. Yes, but Brandon doesn't pronounce it that way and we don't ask the audiobook narrators to pronounce it that way.
  13. Mortar and pestle got mixed up once or twice in the hardcover first printing. We got it fixed before the ebook and audiobook release. This is a style question, not grammar. It's this way intentionally.
  14. Treamayne, could you take a photo or video demonstrating what you're talking about there? I'd appreciate it.
  15. Thanks for the report of those two errors.
  16. Both of those were reported on the first page of this thread. Thanks!
  17. 568: Will change. 570: Probably won't change. It's not correct but it's colloquial, and "cocoon" was used once in WoK. 932: Correct as-is. 979: Reported earlier. 1037: Not changing. Brandon intended for Kaladin to get the name wrong. 1219: Correct as-is. He's holding a sword in one hand and the candelabra in his other hand. 1290: Not changing. The question mark is missing due to intonation. 1325: Correct as-is. "they" refers to "troubles" 1328: Will ask Brandon about this one. This refers to the eastern section of the southern coast. See the Shinovar map on page 404. We switched these late. Later printings of the hardcover will match the audiobook and the ebook. He probably means the back of the peg. I'm not surprised he would still think of it this way. The books exist in translation from Rosharan languages.
  18. Brandon chose this word carefully. It's based on the German fechtbuch. Honorblades get called Shardblades all the time. See the prologue of book 1. I'll report the chapter 117 ebook error. These are not typos or another type of error; they're wording choices. To be something we'll consider changing in a reprint, it has to be an actual mistake. Brandon wrote things this way on purpose.
  19. There are plenty of references to rats in the Stormlight Archive. Good point. I'll take a look at this. Not changing. She can still feel as if she hasn't slept in days, and people are used to referring to the Investiture Light they see as Stormlight; old habits die hard. Syl is included in "the others" and "none" even though there's not generally a danger of anyone seeing her. I agree.
  20. We'll fix this. Thanks.
  21. You've definitely identified an issue. I'll need to talk to Brandon about how to fix this.
  22. 55: He means the people outside the tent. 146: I'm not sure what you mean. Could you explain more what the issue is?
  23. Chapter 21: "however" makes sense in context because Navani shaking her head before that is equivalent to her saying "no." Chapter 49: The antecedent of "it" is "the figure" Chapter 88 "sign,": I will make this change. Chapter 88 "antiLight"/131: These issues do not exist in the hardcover or in the US ebook. Are you reading the UK ebook? Everything else you reported comes down to writing style and is done on purpose.
  24. There actually is a space there, but it sure is a narrow one. The rest of the line looks legible, so I'm not going to do anything about this one. The spren is responding out loud.
  25. Szeth doesn't say Truthless are given a choice between Blade or Plate. In the Way of Kings prologue it says “His Lashings interfered with the gemstones that powered Shardplate, and he had to choose one or the other.” Which means that he would have to choose between wearing Plate or using his Lashings, if he had access to a set of Plate.
