  1. I had to explain shipping to Brandon.
  2. This is an interesting thread.
  3. We just watched the first three episodes of Log Horizon last night, and will be continuing for at least a while.
  4. Michael paid Ben so many compliments. It kind of blows my mind.
  5. Skar is being deployed back to Afghanistan next week or so. So this theory (just from reading the title) seems plausible to me.
  6. Gollancz will release the trade paperback at the same time as the hardcover, but it is bigger than a mass market paperback like you are probably talking about. In the US the mass market paperback will be released around the end of February 2015.
  7. Silver Spoon is by the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist. Very different, but awesome. We watched the first episode of Attack on Titan but it was too gruesome.
  8. This is certainly happening at the BYU Bookstore Monday evening to well after midnight. An announcement should be made in January.
  9. We can only do that for Legion and the Emperor's Soul, because we retain the ebook rights to those. For Words of Radiance, I haven't heard from Tor yet whether they plan to do the Amazon MatchBook thing. Their current MatchBook experiments with a few of Brandon's books are only experiments and are not indicative of future practice.
  10. Mmm...that phase of the moon thing really doesn't sound right to me. It's true the moon was used that way in the Wheel of Time, but the way the moons are used in Words of Radiance really has nothing to do with phases.
  11. There is a little more about Teleb in book 2. I went to the signing, or at least part of it. No one came up to talk to me. If they had, I would have shown them the final cover art. I didn't hear anyone ask Brandon any interesting questions.
  12. Her "final page" comment means the final page of the beta document, where I asked people to give their overall thoughts on the book. She doesn't mean the final page of the book itself is brilliant. (Though I'm not saying it's not; RAFO.) I think it's best for beta readers not to say anything, for now. Or if you do want to say something, clear it with me first. It's not going to be like the Wheel of Time where there are draconian restrictions, but we should be careful to consider the amount of time left before the release and how jealous people will get.
  13. I just have this page bookmarked: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=new_posts&search_app=forums
  14. Sometimes Brandon does things that he forgot he did. Like Hoid's appearance in Well of Ascension—it took him forever to remember where he put him.
  15. If it makes you feel better, Brandon sometimes says Bondsmither. But Bondsmith is the true name.
  16. I don't know when the preorder will be up on Audible.
  17. I am completely ready to believe that a tin savant could see spren. Brandon hasn't told me anything of the sort at the present moment, but this would not surprise me at all.
  18. Indeed. And the audiobook too.
  19. Lift has confidence in spades. But one of the other thieves said she looked 12. So I pictured someone who looked like a typical 12- or 13-year-old, certainly not an early bloomer.
  20. Tor commissioned it. I definitely think she looks too old. However, I also spend very little time looking at fourteen-year-olds, so I have likely forgotten what they actually look like.
  21. I talked to Brandon, and he had forgotten about the thing that made me not be convinced.
  22. There is a quote in the first book that seems to address this point. Who here knows what I"m talking about?
  23. I think you realized it, but this is in-universe text.
  24. We haven't yet talked about exactly which chapters will get released as previews. But one will be released very soon. Though, most people here won't find it exciting.
