  1. ...Axies? When Arclo speaks of him, something bugged me? "When one achieves immortality, one must find purpose beyond the struggle to live, as old Axies always said." Since Axies is alive, as far as we know, why speak of him with said? Wouldn't says be the correct choice of words? Or has something happened to Axies that we dont know of?
  2. Brandon isn't GRRM, but still. Any guesses?
  3. Do we have a WoB of wether or not Ym was able to Stormlight-heal himself and survive after being stabbed by our beloved Herald of Justice? Is he still alive?
  4. Lifts father is Odium.
  5. As far as I have understood, Marsh is keeping himself alive by using atium. Do we have an idea for how long this will work, and so, how long Marsh will stay alive?
  6. I would love it if Kelsier was some kind of third party. Not evil or a villain really, but an antagonist in some cases and a protagonist in others. I hope that Kelsier doesnt end up evil or crazy just because. If he becomes a villain, I hope he has a good reason to do what he does. But considering that there is a rich vs poor situation on Scadrial, I could see how Kell would be disappointed in the overall situation of everything. Wonder if we will get a Kelsier vs Marsh fight?
  7. @aeromancer I still say that Bilg was more on Kelsier. It was his idea: Breeze only did what he was told. Breeze and The Citizen interact just when Sazeds party arrives in Utreau in HoA. It is before they encounter Spook, I think. During the meeting, Quellion feels Breeze touch on his emotions, and warns his friends about him. Breeze responds by fooling Quellion into thinking that he wanted to be revealed. Accoording to Sazed, Quellion will then spend the entire meeting wondering if his words are controlled by Breeze. It is page 246 in the Gollancz edition.
  8. First off, Bilg isn´t entirely on Breeze. It wasn´t Breeze who suggested the plan of soothing the population: that was Kelsier. I dont think many, if any, Soothers could have made a lasting change on everyone. Bilg was pretty stubborn, and he was chilling in random caves against super-high odds. It is no wonder the guy started to make a nuisance out of himself. Instead of thinking about the few dissenters, you should think about the majority who stayed and fought. Second, Breeze is not really that scared of his powers. He is scared of creating bonds between himself and women with it, but using it otherwise poses zero problems to him. He even speaks about how it is morally right to Soothe people all the time. He also manipulated Cett into coming to Luthadel. Granted, Cett knew pretty much what Breeze was doing, but he missed the fact that the Atium was a lie. Breeze also has the scene were he fools the Citizen into thinking that he got his feelings Soothed. I dont know if it counts as manipulation or not, but the "bring-in-Cett-to-stall-Straff" idea came from Breeze as well, and it worked out. I agree that Kelsier was the better manipulator though, but Kelsier is special. He was made to lead people, and to con the ones he didn´t lead (or con the ones he led, he did that too). Breeze is not a bad manipulator though. I dont remember if Kelsier ever stated that Breeze was a good manipulator, but if he did, that is another point in Breeze´s favor. Kell, as a great manipulator, would recognize another one when he saw him. When it comes to the rest of your manipulators, TLR basically got where he wanted because he had great power and no one knew how to kill him. Elend changed stuff for a time, but that was partially thanks to influence from the guys who had killed TLR, partially because he tried to give the majority of the people (the Skaa) what they wanted and partially because he was the highest ranking guy in the area. And even then it didn´t hold under pressure. The fact that he became Emperor was entirely on Vin, who forced the other leaders into acknowledging him. The Citizen was pretty smart though, I give you that, but Breeze casually manipulated him (short-term, yes, but he did).
  9. How do we know that Moash will have many viewpoints?
  10. The Kaladin-Parshmen thing was foreshadowed in WoR though. Remember the part when Rlain commented on how he was Bridge Fours slave?
  11. Why would Nale want to resurrect Sadeas of all people? I do think and hope Sadeas is dead. I think he fulfilled his part in the story as an early main antagonist, before the Voidbringers/Radiants/Societies appeared. And Brandon already resurrected two people in WoR (yeah, I know Jasnah wasn´t technically dead, but it counts). If he starts bringing every major dead character back, that will make his stories way less effective. I actually hope that he keeps of the resurections for a while now since we also have gotten some in Mistborn. And there really is no reason to bring Sadeas back. He wasn´t even that present in person in WoR, and now there is so much going on that he will be distracting. We will probably get more Sadeas in Dalinars flashbacks though. But that is a different matter.
  12. Yeah, he did. I dont know where the WoB is though, but it is confirmed that we will have a second one.
  13. If it saves him from prison, maybe. Also, do we know that Sadeas never fathered a child? I suppose that he has been married to Ialai for a while. Maybe he has a young son back in Alethkar, who can inherit.
  14. Edgedancer spoilers. The Part 2 POV might also be one of the following: -Stick who talks about being a stick. -Yalb surviving and going Rambo on the Voidbringers. Seriously though, anyone having any theories about who this fun Interlude feel POV is? My only serious one is in the spoiler tag.
  15. It is kind of fun that every character thinks it is either A) Ghostbloods or B ) Parshendi behind assassinations. I have a gut feeling that tells me Helaran is alive, and the point made about the tatoo is a good one. Amaram probably examined the body of the Shardbearer, and if the bearer had the mark it means that he is somehow affiliated with the Ghostbloods, which makes Mraize's comment about Skybreakers wierd. If he does not have the tatoo, then he would not be a Ghostblood. There are ways to get around this though. Either, Helaran defected from the Ghostbloods to the Skybreakers, or Amaram just thinks that he is a Ghostbloods-hired assassin, like Tyn. The Talak theory was kind of good (although the bonding issues mentioned above are a problem) and there must be a reason for Brandon to have the Weeper in the WoR prologue. But otherwise, I do feel that introducing a random twist of "Helaran gave his blade to his redhead BFF who then tried to kill Amaram for unknown reason" is kind of a stretch, although it isn't impossible to pull off. TL;DR: Gut feeling: Helaran lives, logical feeling: R.I.P Helaran
  16. This discussion has become pretty wierd... Anyway, I do like Vin and Elend more than Wax and Wayne. I find them more complex, and simply better characters. Elends fears of becoming the Lord Ruler was awesome, for example. I also know that a bunch of readers, me included, identifies with FE Elend, and that most likely adds to his character. I love Wax and Wayne, but Wayne does not really seem that realistic of a character at all times. Wax was pretty boring in AoL but he got better in SoS. Still the cant beat Vin and Elend.
  17. Calamity did seem rushed at the end. I wish it had been 20-30 pages longer to wrap up the story fully. When it comes to Stormlight, no one likes waiting. But a positive thing about the wait is discussion and speculation. Once we have all the books, that will die down, since we know everything (kind of). On another note, I dont really see why a guy gets 21 downvotes for voicing his opinion.
  18. You do like Aanden, and eat some of your other books, so that the new Sanderson ones fit in. Problem: Your internet stops working.
  19. I certainly think that there is some sort of connection between the Fools and the Heralds. I also think though, that the descriptions of the Fools might not completely match with the Heralds. All things change with time, and it would not be unrealistic to assume that the Heralds are not exactly like their Fool counterpart.
  20. Nale dying for Lift sounds plausible, and it would work as a sort of redemption story, with him beginning as her antagonist, and ends as the guy who sacrificed himself for her. It might feel a little predictable too, but if it does happen, I'm quite sure that it will be well executed, and work beautifully. Most things in Stormlight tend to do that.
  21. Beat me to it. Cultivation being a "means justify the ends" person is interesting, and I hope that is the case, since it is a lot more interesting than "nice Shard lady hiding from Odium". If the Diagram-Cultivation theory is true, then I wonder if Cultivation will try to influence some of the radiants (Lift for example) into joining up with them. That could potentially increase Taravangians power and influence. If he tries to fight Dalinar without any Radiants, he might find himself getting steamrolled pretty hard.
  22. Unless Harmony is into Graves theories, killing Elhokar really wont help much, as far as we know. Elhokar might be Odium Reborn though. That'd be a plot twist.
  23. Why isn't anyone doing Era 2? Because I like him, I will suggest Orlando Bloom as Wax. I suspect that I am the only one who thinks this a good idea. While he might be a little too old, I do honestly feel that Tom Hardy would be a great Wayne. I think Daisy Ridley could do Marasi. Jake Gyllenhaal as Miles. Gal Gadot as MeLaan. Anna Kendrick as Lessie. And, because I like him, and find it funny, I want to suggest Jason Alexander as Lord Harms. He plays George Costanza in Seinfeldt.
  24. Adolin is my favorite Stormlight character, but honorable mentions would go to Axies and Shallan. Favorite battle is probably Narak or Adolins last duel. Both are epic.
  25. Maybe Bavadin is the ultimate villain of the Cosmere saga. Would not surprise me if that was the case. Having the embodiment of hate is expected, but the having freedom instead... that is way cooler.
