So, Voidbringers are supposedly Parshendi in their "forms of power." They receive these forms when they bond what is most likely Voidspren in a Highstorm. This makes them go nuts. Most likely, they end up under the control of Odium/Unmade. But what if Parshendi are not the only ones who can be Voidbringers? What if every lifeform on Roshar has the potential? First off, we need to establish that Parshendi are not originally of Odium. They were on Roshar before him. He didn´t create them. So Odium hijacked the Parshendi, most likely through the bonds. I presume that they could change forms before Odiums arrival (we have nothing that indicates otherwise). So I think that Odium invented a way to hack into Roshars local magic, and add Voidspren and the forms of power to the Parshendis list of available forms. And if Odium could hack the Parshendis bonds, I see no reason for why he shouldn´t be able to hack other bonds as well. Chasmfiends are spoken of as possible candidates for Voidbringers in WoK by Jasnah. We all know that chasmfiends have some sort of bond with spren. Could it be that Jasnah was right, and chasmfiends were Voidbringers in the same way as the Parshendi are? Odium hacked their spren bonds. Now, I know that this is nothing new. Chasmfiends = voidbringers have been discussed on here before, but I want to take it some steps further, and go into what I think is uncharted territory. I propose that all things on Roshar that are capable of bonding, are also capable of becoming some sort of Voidbringers/corrupted entities. The two major groups to look at then are humans and Aimians. Humans can bond spren and become Radiants. I theorize that Odium hacked this too, and that they could bond Voidspren and become corrupted/some sort of Voidbringers. It is possible that something like this has happened already, with Renarin (the theory that he is influenced by Odium is pretty well-known). Wether you would call Renarin+Voidspren a Voidbringer would probably depend on how you define a Voidbringer (I believe the only definition we have is from Jasnah, and she could be wrong). But my main point remains: Odium is hacking the bonds, and corrupts humans. Finally, the Aimians. Aimians are wierd, and we know little of them. We don´t even know wether they can bond things, but I believe they can. Since I think that the focus of Roshars magic are bonds, I also think that a race without the ability to bond things would be pretty out of place. Whatever their bonds are, Odium can probably hack them. I do think that this might be the reason for why the Aimians are known as Voidbringers. They were actually Voidbringers, once upon a time, because Odium meddled with the bonds. I want to finish this by bringing up a quote from Axies, which could hint toward this: Aimians aren´t Heralds, but they could be Voidbringers. And, to clarify, I don´t think that Axies knows this. I´m thinking that the quote might be foreshadowing from Brandon about the Aimians and their Voidbringer-ism. So, in short, Odium hijacks all bonds on Roshar in order to make every race on the planet able to bond Voidspren, which corrupts them and turns them into evil entities collectively known as Voidbringers. What do you guys think?

The Hairpins of Sapience

I wouldn´t be surprised if he did. Mraize gives an aura of being extremely dangerous to most things. Him hunting and killing a kandra would be very much in character. Wonder if those spikes came from WalDo? -

I´m not surprised :-) I like Amaram, but I know that most people hate the guy (I think people go to hard on him, but that is a discussion for another topic). Szeths personal code and adherence to the Shin customs made him pick up the Blade. It didn´t have much to do with confidence, I think. -
I don´t think the Oathpact necessarily has to be the thing that traps Odium. The Oathpact is the source of the Heralds powers, their return every Desolation, and probably the reason to why they have Honorblades. This was probably made in order to fight Odium and the Desolations. I think that something else is trapping Odium however.

You might want to change this, even though it is pretty funny. A common theory is that Adolin will revive his Shardblade, which is confirmed to have belonged to an Edgedancer. Adolin becoming an Edgedancer is thus a popular idea, and quite likely too, I think. I think Dustbringers feel more interesting than Edgedancers, so I would like to see Adolin as one, but I do think that an Edgedancer is more likely. My personal Dustbringer candidate, which I really hope happens, is Amaram. He is a brave soldier, and you could also argue that bringing the Heralds back through a Desolation is a brave (if stupid) gamble. He is defenitely obedient, and follows his masters and his purpose no matter what he himself feels about it. Making Amaram a Dustbringer would also make the story interesting in several ways. It would challenge Dalinars and Kaladins views of who a Radiant is. Seeing them confront the fact that someone who betrayed them has been given powers and bonded a spren would be very nice. It would also give the story a lethal antagonist, a fanatic with powers given to him by the Almighty himself. I could also see this opening different possibilites for Amarams character, from becoming more of a fanatic to redeeming himself. -

Dumb Challenges!

Siri. She is good at eating big midnight dinners. Who would win a presidential election, Mraize or Pattern? -
I think I might be the only guy here who likes and cares about Elhokar and Amaram... Shallan is one of my favorite characters. I like her backstory, her wit, and Pattern (best spren, no contest, #votepattern2020). I also find her emotional traumas very interesting. I am happy that she is our main scholar, because Im not very fond of Jasnah. And also, her chapters will mean more Secret Society information, and hopefully more Mraize (I love Mraize too #votemraize2020).

@maxal For once, I think we might agree about Elhokar. It seems more and more likely that he will turn on Dalinar. When it comes to Shallan, I agree as well. The only wierd thing is that she doesn't comment on being commanded to train, but that is no real biggie.

Honor and Odium End of Book 5
Toaster Retribution replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that this is certainly possible. We haven't seen a Shard being reforged yet, so it is plausible (I hope we don't get a merged Shard though). I can see the Sleepless prophecy (one will destroy, one will save) as related to this. The savior is the new Honor, and the destroyer releases Odium. -

Stormlight Archive Casting

He is far too old, I think. Some suggestions from me: -Aidan Gillen as Pattern (voice). -Idris Elba as Nale -Auli'i Cravalho as Lift I'll add more later. -
Pretty much, yeah.

The Vessels do have genders (or at least had before their Ascension). Ati, Leras, Rayse, Sazed and Tanavast are male. Cultivation, Edgli and (most likely) Bavadin are female.

Dumb Challenges!

I think Yomen would be better at actually getting stuff done, but only if all his actors worshipped TLR. Who would make the best pie, Rayse or Ati? -
Yay, religious fanaticism!

I think Mara the four and a half year old super-surgeon is the suckling child in the Death Rattle, as well as the champion of Odium.

So, we have casting threads up and running for basically every Cosmere-work, but Stormlight. I know that there are some old casting thread for SA lying around somewhere, but I´m no Bloodsealer, so I won´t bring that one back from the dead. Instead, lets make a new one! Stormlight is known for being storming hard to cast. The Alethi (and the Rosharans in general) doesn´t really look like anything on earth (a mix between polynesians and asians I think, or am I wrong?). But I think we are up for the challenge. Tor did a dream cast last year, and they made some good choices. We can pick from that, but we can also come up with new ones. Happy casting folks!

The Purelakers might be great at history, for all we know. Ishikk knowing about Epoch Kingdoms is probably not out of the ordinary. As for why Ishikk was hired, the 17th Shard probably looked around to see who travelled a lot, and was well-known in the area. They heard about Ishikk and hired him. I also doubt that Ishikk is the only one working for Galladon & co. They probably have other people in other places as well. Otherwise Ishikk is basically just an awesome fisherman with a funny religion.

I agree about Syl, she is somewhat annoying sometimes. She seems to think that she lacks faults, which kind of bothers me. She has a quite demanding feel as well sometimes. I don´t actively dislike her, but I hardly love her either. There are far more interesting characters around in my opinion. For this, you get an upvote.

I am with @Calderis on this. My only problem is that it could feel like a repeat of Shallans story. She murdered her parents, and denied it to herself. Dalinar killed his wife, and forgot.
