So, summing everything up: Apart from the novels themselves, each world gets Khriss introduction and its star map. And there is also a Shadesmar map?
-
Isn't there also an excerpt from White Sand? I heard something like that. Also, Khriss introductions + starmap/Shadesmar map <3 Is there any additional art apart from the map?

When people are going for reread, they sometimes ask if there's something they should keep an eye for. At the same time, we often lack quotes which are helpful in various situations - like the steelbubble efficiency discussion, Steelpushing measurements or mentions of rhytms of any kind in Stormlight. Why don't we combine the two and create a giant thread contaning an exhaustive list of anything to look for during rereads? The rereaders could post relevant quotes here and we could gather them with proper organization. Right now we need to accumulate various things to look for. Please post anything you may think of. COSMERE worldhoppers, Hoid, the usual perpendicularities (used to be known as Shardpools) gods that may be Bavadin religions that may have been started or influenced by Bavadin the worldhopping kandra, WalDo Hemalurgy was used somewhere else in cosmere - it can be WalDo though the other (not Hemalurgy) end-negative system - WoB has it we've seen it hinted at Night sky in general epigraphs, newspapers, Herald faces, you know the drill ROSHAR secret societies rhytms and Soulcasting/fabrials/artifabrians secret societies stormwardens, their predictions/equations, inheritance rights secret societies math and physics (how advanced it is, what have they figured out) secret societies Shardplate and its enhancements secret societies Stormlight holding feats secret societies Taln's Scar, other stars secret societies Edgedancer spoiler: or any strange looking cremlings Heralds secret societies SCADRIAL GENERAL Pewter Allomancy feats (for example to be able to compare to holding Stormlight) Steelpushing (to calculate the force) Feruchemical iron Allomantic strength/multiple spikes/savants and burning/flaring speed/strength Metal lines/atium shadows - are they visible even if they're not in your field of vision? Red Rip FIRST ERA technology level of the Final Empire Felt SECOND ERA Technology and advancement Speedbubbles (although I think @Kurkistan already has anything possible about that topic ). But I'm interested in compression factor. Wax's steelbubble aluminum's worth and usage/development hints of what Kelsier is up to SEL ELANTRIS references to programming Aons (for example conditional instructions) EMPEROR'S SOUL NALTHIS what Nightblood is made of (how does he look like?) TALDAIN MINOR SHARDWORLDS THRENODY possible perpendicularites (which are unpredictable and of morbid origin) specific rituals to become a Cognitive Shadow (Nazh mentioned them in Secret History) Starbelt FIRST OF THE SUN The Ones Above

What's the worst thing a Scadrian laying on the surgery table could hear just as the anesthesia starts to work? "Please pass me the spike."

I probably should stop reading internet comments written by strangers. Especially when it's about something I like, like books or care about, like Cosmere. But the pet peeve is people who read fantasy, fantasy, one of the main genres supposed to implement brave ideas and things not done before and things like that. And then those people complaining over anything that doesn't fit with what they're accustomed to. "This Shardblade/Shardplate thing feels just like anime videogame". Yeah, of course, we all should stick with Gandalf and Aragorn expies. Mage is wise, powerful and for the sake of the plot cannot actually do anything meaningful and the warrior has to be... scratch that, you all know what I mean. And God forbid if the book isn't overdosed with gritty like misery-driven-plot of Song of Ice and Fire. Then it's obviously bad and unrealistic

There is a WoB (that I cannot find) that if a parshman aggresively didn't want to turn into Voidbringer, he could resist transformation. But I can't find it. Anyway, parshmen probably have trouble changing form as they're now without any form. " slaveform, the form with no spren, no soul, and no song ". Probably a song/Rhythm is needed to attract a spren. EDIT: For future Sharders: I found it: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1120#25

BTW, coppermind also says: I remember broadsheet from BoM, but what's the other one?
-
Wait, I thought "bae" originates from "babe". Just remove "b".
-
From Coppermind... but without any source: Anybody got any info? Screens, maybe?
-
Just a reminder: slaveform isn't really a form in the same meaning of the word we are used to. That's actually wrong - what parshmen are is lack of form; it may be similar to slaveform dullform but it is not the same thing. Slaveform Dullform is used by Parshendi to spy freely among parshmen. But with what Rlain showed us it seems that slaveform's dullform's mental capability is greater than parshman.
-
The text implies that the only Listeners capable of reason are the Parshendi (which literally means "parshmen who can think"). The are a lot of formless Listeners on Roshar, parshmen. But it was a big discovery when Alethi met Parshendi precisely because they were parshmen AND they could think.

@Silverblade5 is that the same friend that cut herself? BTW, it sounds like narcolepsy. -
I mean the part that it's visible only in metalsight. Because that's the only way Inquisitors can see.

Because the chance isn't 0%. However, the chance you will not die right now also isn't 0%. A meteor could drop out of the sky, for example. For all practical purposes it's not something to worry about. (Or else we would be too afraid too afraid to leave homes cause the brakes in the car could simultaneously break just as you're crossing the street - you get what I'm getting at?)

For futher reassurance, it's possible to connect two computers through wifi... but it requires cooperation at both sides and it still took me some time even with both computers accessible and having admin rights over the router.
-
I always chew ice cubes when finishing a drink. Why is that bad for teeth, @TwiLyghtSansSparkles?
-
I like it very much Since somebody talked about Inquisitors creating art I wondered how would that art work and your proposition is interesting.

Nope. You're all just connected to the same internet source, not to each other (more or less). Of course, there are ways to mess with people on your wifi but it's highly improbable somebody in your viccinity knows how AND wants to do it.

How exaggeratedly important are the leaders of the set?
Oversleep replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
I think that Set used trellium spikes to turn mistwraiths into their own kandra. Of course, I'm not sure whether there are any mistwraiths left... Anyone knows a WoB about it? Before somebody asks the obvious question: yes, Harmony could glimpse Paalm with one trellium spike and another mundane spike allowed him to control her. However, Harmony knew there is a rogue kandra to look for - he can't look for something he doesn't know about. And they would have trellium spikes and IIRC trellium side-effect in Hemalurgy allows to hide. If combined with Blessing of Presence they probably could not be controlled at all. -

Try to sneak like a ninja. It may not work out this time but it is a useful skill. But if you make noise the reasonable reply is that certain something awoke you. -
I want a graffiti in the Third Era saying "Who watches the Metalborn". I want it badly.

I think I'll split the list into 'probable', 'medium' and 'bad curses'. 'Bad curses' would be the ones on the edge, 'probable' and 'medium' would be the possible ones split based on how punishing they are. What do you think? (I'll update the list later) The last one is not neurological in nature. The second one is too diffcult for the cursed, I feel. The last one is somewhat probable but it's still pretty hard. Outside of the power of the Nightwatcher (Lift does age after all) and not neurological. The two about the limbs are pretty bad; also memory one. Invisible relatives are also pretty punishing. The last one is pretty difficult to pull off - how would that work? You can't hear anybody talking about you nor talking to you? Selective deafness? The first one would be lethal in the long run. The memory one would basically kill 'you' - there would be no 'you' anymore. The rest is good.

Shallan's drawing of Shalash - similar thing with Syl...?
Oversleep replied to Oversleep's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh right. It could mean that. -
If he knew that, he wouldn't had been so scared of Allomantic and Feruchemical bloodlines mixing. And he was very scared of that.
