In addition to previous WoBs: We finally got a precise (and interesting) WoB about melted metalminds: P.S. 'Molten metalminds' totally sounds like a Third Era rock band name.

There wasn't much sound to be improved so that she would have noticed. @Yata, I'm not talking about improvements to one's senses - being able to discern hues and tones of colors, being able to hear harmonics et cetera. I'm talking about how objects in the vicinity of an Awakener get 'better' colors (it's described as flashing colors). Last two quotes from chapter seven. Anyway, sound and color are firmly linked to each other when it comes to BioChroma. Heightenings grant improvements to both sight and hearing. Awakening requires both color and sound (Command, spoken clearly). However, when it comes to observing auras of Awakeners the only thing commented upon is how objects' colors grow better. It stands to reason that sounds made by an object in the aura would also be improved.

WHAT!!!! LAST I CHECKED IT WAS 80% WHEN DID THE UPDATE HAPPEN

I've joined on Facebook a polish group of "Flat Earth Society". While I'm positively sure that percentage of trolls and people just getting their daily dose of humour is high, the administration and some people I suspect to be serious. Well, they're banning a lot of people who argue too openly... Anyway, I started trolling them by subtle bait: "People believing in round Earth always bring up Foucalt's Pendulum. How can I prove them wrong?". So far I gathered responses mostly from sane people :< I really wanted to know how flat-earthists would explain that. EDIT: It seems bait worked. Now for the hook...

I removed this passage from the section "Hemalurgic Use": "It could also be assumed that, like Atium, any ability provided through its spikes would be fueled by its respective shard, Trell, rather than Preservation." No source and I'm sure that even when things get stolen by atium spike its still Preservation fueling Allomancy, not Ruin. Ruin only fuels burning atium and its alloys.

I had this idea recently. See, when something comes within the aura of an Awakener, its colors get better (not sure how to phrase it). As evidenced in Prologue, this effect can be seen by anyone, not only those in the reach of the aura. It seems reasonable that sounds would be improved in similar way when passing through a powerful BioChromatic aura. So basically we had to either have Awakeners play instruments so that the sounds coming from them would be enrichened or, if Nalthis ever hits contemporary technology level, there should be a powerful Awakener sitting on every loudspeaker during concerts.

But the only one around of such high Heightening is Susebron.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

@Erunion believe me, there's nothing to worry about. I can go months without even feeling any desire to drink. I don't drink to drown my sorrows - yes, yesterday I did drink while sad and angry but it wasn't "I'm sad, I need a drink". It was "I'll go get a third glass" when I usually stop at one or two. But what really caused my drunkeness was the speed. If I were to drink at my usual pace everything would be OK. It's... it's as if I duraluminum burned steel and then wondered why did I get flung into that wall. I did swallow enough steel to go all the way home... where's the steel gone? ... You know what? It feels really weird: I'm trying to calm down strangers from Internet worried about me becoming an alcoholic while I don't have any problems with drinking XD -
I need to run my calculations or find somebody who can Physics, man :|

Does it matter how fast are the metals burned in relation to Seeking? For example, would a flared metal be easier to Seek? Could duraluminum burned metal be Seeked through coppercloud by regular Seeker (no double bronze)?
-
You should've insisted that your aura does not have any color itself and that it strenghtens colours around you. ... I have an idea for Awakeners...

While I don't agree with all your points, please notice that some of things that are "still to come" has been covered. I think these topics may either satisfy your curiosity or be a decent addition to your thoughts:

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Oversleep replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Alcohol is not my go-to in stressful situations or anything like that. Normally I just grit my teeth and go through the rust. It was just since I already was having a drink I kept at it. I'm very well aware of what drinking addiction is and I've never came even remotably close to it. Nothing to worry about here, really. -

Well, before the fighting began (I presume as the rest of my family was away so I don't know) there was a drink in the plan - whishy + some liquer which name I don't remember + lemon juice + ice. Then when the fighting began... few things happened... I'm not sure I want to share them - I'll decide when I'm sober - so I made myself a classic whisky + cola + ice (shame it was scotch and not burbon - burbon gets along with cola and scotch... not really). Then I went and made myself another glass. All in all, it's not much - I've drunk much more... but never this quick. Seriously, I'm really drunk. Maybe it's the "Polish trait: +5 to withstanding alcohol". Maybe it's the drinking culture which made me know how to drink. Maybe it's my family which taught me how to behave/live/(can't find a proper word) with alcohol. Anyway I'm in control. One day I should try to lose this control. It's not a bad thing - I can drink a lot and know I'm not gonna mess anything up - but sometimes I want to get rid of that reasonable voice in the back of my head. -

I'm gonna drink until I stop caring about my family fighting. EDIT: Tomorrow is gonna be hell of a day, probably. At least mom went downstairs and called my dad up (he was sleeping on the couch), that's somethin'. Anyway, my drunkeness progresses. Tomorrow is a holiday though so it's OK. How come I am so reasonable while drunk? I check the spelling of what I write, I prepared water so I don't get hangover... I am always so careful. Even drunk, especially then. Because I always realize I'm drunk and adjust my behaviour. I'm always so in control. I never loose the control. I'm always the reasonable guy. EDIT2: Oh, I got so drunk. -
Back in episode one one of the questions in the questionary was "Would you ever hurt a living being?" which Dolores answered "No" and there also was a scene or two with flies walking on the eyes of the hosts and they didn't do anything about it... and then BAM!, Dolores kills a mosquito/fly. End of episode one.

I've also theorized to that extent:

I think it's the same thing as once it was being compared to Harry Potter. Both Rothfuss and Sanderson are good and popular so they get compared to regardless of the validity of such comparision.

I was not trying to attack anyone. Just to point out a few logical mistakes as I saw them. Since everybody is probably unnerved by the events of this day I went and removed all the sarcasm and mocking etc from my posts so that only logical arguments would be left. First my post was hoped to be either a joke or sarcasm when I was serious, then I was mocked with something about "the brilliance of my argument" and my post was called "offensive, condescending, and absolutely patronizing" and response to it considered below one's dignity. Yeah. While I also want to say a thing or two about Twi's posts I won't since we're trying to get this discussion down. And I'll stay the storm out of the discussions from now on. Long did the Shard appear as a place for civilized discussion but sooner or later every illusion breaks: this is internet and discussions just can't be held. I'll post here again when the politics die down/silence/deaden/whatever. Back to Cosmere then. EDIT: The post I'm quoting and refering was deleted so it's impossible to say whether she did say those things or not. This does not change anything I said in this post.

OK, I know how to say it (I think): I am not interested in Aon Mea by itself. Much more interesting is what it represents. What is the link between this valley and the area of Shaod? (these two are connected by the Aon Mea but the Aon is not what's important here) During the Reod it would be not-working but similarly to how Elantris kept creating Elantrians but not fully formed it would still keep it's original effects. However, what if we change something already existing in Aon instead of adding new lines? BTW, what if there is a forest fire? How would the Aon for wood change? Its previous form would no longer work but a new one should.
-
I hope you're joking. You won't accept what an expert has to say because he or she is not personally affected by it? This is the same thing as saying that a cardiologist can't cure you if they didn't have a heart condition themselves. Or something along these lines. What should matter is skill, knowledge, experience, efficiency and a lot more things which are not related to gender at all. And 'personal experience' is just anecdotal evidence. What matters is statistical study. Large samples. Like what economists do.
-
No, that's now what I mean. Not something changing all the Aons, like the Chasm. Something changing only Aon Mea (hence the whole napalm the valley thing) which "represents the region in which a person can be taken by the Shaod".
-
I'm much more interested about how does Aon Mea describes/pictures/can'tfindtheword the 'Elantris effect'. Would it have any implications? Probably not, as the area is not influenced by Aon - it's the Aon that describes what is. So what would happen should we obliterate that valley? Where would the X mark go?
-
Did you... did you just disregard whatever a person has to say based on their gender?
-
I just wonder what would've happened if all those people who were voting for Trump cause "anti-Hillary" and all those voting for Hillary cause "anti-Trump" would have voted for the third party...
