@Quiver, octave in music is basically what 10 is in decimal numbers. There are different sounds: C, Cis/Des, D, Dis/Es, E, F, Fis/Ges, G, Gis/As, A, Ais/B, H. Then you go back to C and all over. (technically F would be Eis and E would be Fes... if there was such a thing) This will be helpful: Between C and D there is a full tone. Between C and Cis there is a half tone. A tone is two halftones. An octave is 12 halftones. Halftone is the smallest distance between two tones. It's a music atom, kind of. Is this helpful? EDIT: Oh wait, you guys have B instead of H. Huh. But so far we have consistently seen Surgebinders gain Shardblade with Third Ideal. Anyway, Kaladin was able to inhale Stormlight and used Reverse and Full Lashings before speaking even First Oath. Dalinar was also able to inhale Stormlight before end of WoR and his talk with Stormfather... there is some debate going on about when he spoke the First but I believe he swore both First and Second in Urithiru.

Just chiming in: I also have idea of magic music for some time now (those who frequent Creation Daily might remember project Lanternlight). But I need to approach it from a little more physics side... wavelengths, frequencies... I have some really basic music knowledge (I can read notes) but nothing advanced . Some recommendations where can I start researching? The setting is kinda steampunk but music magic is basically a means of survival there.

Dark skin on Darkside because they get a ton of UV. Particulate ring blocks most of the visible radiation, but UV gets through just fine. But it baffles me to why Daysiders have such a bright skin as they live under constant desert sun.

I think Wordpress is kind of too big and complicated for a blog. From my experience it's better for sites. I think blogspot would be fine. As for topics, I suggest gathering your old posts about stuff, refining it a little and that should be just fine. (for example, the Xorn thing?)
