  1. Majority of D&D Investiture is stuffed into Cognitive Realm, forming Dor which fuels all Selish magic systems. Some of it however became Splinters (Devotion's - Seons, Dominion's - Skaze) which are not unlike spren.
  2. Naah. That one is for the summer solstice story. Solstices are good for summoning dark gods. Valentine's day however is celebrated worldwide which provides a vast amount of emotional charge and that can also be useful for something.
  3. Your links are dead I was about to say Gravity Rush but then I saw you included it. Dishonored has freezing time. You can move in it, so it's more like extreme Steelrunning than Sliding...
  4. Or... corpses actually being everywhere.
  5. Chickens though. As for your actual question, do you know why we love puppies and kittens? Some combination of their features (like big eyes) resembles human newborns. And there's also that thing when we recognize human faces in random patterns etc.
  6. Great. I already have a Christmass story boiling (which I haven't started) about cultists trying to revive/summon a dark god on winter solstice; now I started thinking "what can I do with Valentine's Day?"...
  7. We have a WoB that when you have many powers the Resonance ceases. That's why Twinborns have Resonances but Mistborn or Full Feruchemists do not.
  8. Since there is a movie coming, I decided to get familiar with Ghost in the Shell. The thing is, there are multiple manga(s), anime(s) and films, all in different continuities. Where do I start and how do I proceed?
  9. Spren are basically a pair of Surges. Nahel bond connects a spren to Surgebinder. When you're using Hemalurgy, you're ripping off chunks of soul. You can target the part that the Nahel bond has plugged in and steal the bond. That's why it's possible to steal Shardblades with Hemalurgy, by the way.
  10. But how could a Lifeless wield Nightblood? Lifeless cannot feed it Investiture. At least, not for long. This line always baffled me.
  11. You can't just "steal a Surge" - you can however steal the Nahel bond. But if you're murdering for power you wouldn't even count for the First Ideal. Therefore it's better some maniac scientist used Hemalurgy on its unwilling victim, then it's possible said victim would end up with all those spren without breaking bonds. But you'd have to adhere to Oaths of every Order you took a spren from otherwise the bonds would get broken... What I'm trying to say it's better to steal some Honorblades.
  12. Isn't it like the end of semester is nigh and exams and people are just revising?
  13. Actually we know that NIgthblood can consume spren; take it as you want in regard to clashing with Shardblades: BTW, I don't see how Nightblood is a such terrible weapon. I mean, in terms of fighting enemies it's INFERIOR to regular Shardblade. Shardblades don't require you to feed them Investiture. Additionaly the longer you wield Nightblood the faster it consumes Investiture, that's crazy since it's a quadratic increase of how much Investiture you need. Of course, in a world without Shardblades Nightblood is quite scary, but in terms of efficiency you're much better off with Lifeless army.
  14. The Shades were already there when people arrived in the Forests. Also I'm almost certain only people turned into Shades; anyway, all the Shades we've seen are humanoid.
  15. Is anyone doing a transcript maybe? *crosses fingers* It'll take me a very long time to understand everything said :<
  16. Well then, so far it fits nicely into my Prologue theory.
  17. Unfortunately fish sticks are outlawed in Europe due to being too fishy, so no giving them to Brandon will happen. I guess we'll just provide him with a fresh supply of spikes instead.
  18. My English is not that good but do I hear that it's Eshonai's PoV right?
  19. So there are probably lots of people who frequently go to meeting with Brandon. Could those people share how these things usually look like? Any advice, tips? How come there's always some recording? Brandon's coming to Poland in March for the first time and I have zero idea what to expect. This isn't a Con, it probably will be an event hosted by the publisher company.
  20. @The Honor Spren You see, in Cosmere there's this thing called Connection Attachment leads to jealousy, the shadow of greed Humans tend to get attached to things, places and people. It's get hard when there are two things that are mutually exclusive (you cannot live in two homes). It's only natural.
  21. I prefer "Any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from miracle" ~ Magicians
  22. I was inspired by how the popular answer for "how magnets work" is "magic" . Or how we don't really understand gravity. If it was science, he would be explaining it but the fact is that the effect exists and nobody has any idea how. They have a pretty good grasp on magic (like we do on physics) but this effect just is and makes zero sense in any proposed model. It's like some god pulled a trick on them and inserted this random effect into otherwise scientifically analisable magic. Yeah, I made it all up on spot.

  24. You know how sometimes scientists answer "magic" to a question that's complicated or something not well understood?
  25. Don't. When somebody is making five accounts they either deserve to be banned or they need to be explained to what is and what isn't accepted on internet, given warning and offered second chance since they're probably new to the whole internet thing. And that's about it.
