  1. If spren are really Roshar's focus, then it makes sense that there are godsprens. Stormfather, Nightwatcher, Unmade. Now, I know you're saying "Stormfather was there before Honor arrived on Roshar!" (is this even confirmed?) but I'm thinking that Honor's godspren kind of assumed the form of Stormfather. Or merged with it.
  2. There is a FB fanpage (unfortunately Polish, so you wouldn't get much of it) that reposts things from a closed group. Said group is about herbs and all these 'natural and 'alternative' methods of healing (cause you know, doctors are uneducated/educated wrongly/corrupted by bigpharma/part of NWO(not sure if I have seen this one)/something). To say that those people are stupid is to insult stupid people. Things I have seen...
  3. Seeing several days into future is probably impossible. Rusts, we don't even know if it's possible with duralumin! Elend saw at least an hour into future, but we don't actually know how far. Savantism or no savantism, it's non canon.
  4. Hm, so why is amazon saying that it's July 5th? http://www.amazon.com/Brandon-Sandersons-White-Volume-Hardcover/dp/1606908855
  5. Shame. Closest one is on another continent
  6. Terminator build! Iron: Crasher combination. Steel: Allomancy for metalsight and Steelpushing. On long distances faster than Feruchemical steel. Tin: little difference. Pewter: Allomantic, simple. Zinc: Finally decided for Feruchemical. Tough one. Brass: Hemalurgy, Feruchemical bronze. Compounding wakefullness to be literally restless. Gets along with pewter. Copper: Allomantic, you need to blend in. Or maybe Feruchemical to remember every possible info about who you are after. Bronze: Allomantic, you have to be aware of potential threats and useful for detecting your Allomancer victims Cadmium: Obviously Feruchemical. Gets along with allomantic pewter. Bendalloy:Obviously Feruchemical. No stopping to eat or drink. Gold: Obviously Feruchemical. Pewter helps to offset storing. Electrum: Obviously Feruchemical (he's a deTerminator, after all). Chromium: Allomantic to make your victims helpless. Nicrosil: Probably Feruchemy to augment your powers. Aluminum: Feruchemy. Store it all the time. Duraluminum: Feruchemy. Store it all the time along with aluminum to make yourself unnoticeable. Atium: Allomantic electrum, because Compounding electrum all the time. You don't want an electrum Copounder after you, that's pretty terrifying.
  7. Okay, I need some help with developing secret signs. Like masons or something, secret handshakes... codewords to slip in conversation. The situation is that I have a subset of Soulsmiths who cannot sense anything magical. Apart from some tricks they can do, they are basically normal humans. Now, the thing is: how will they recognize each other? While I assume they probably won't be able to recognize another member while walking by, I need some kind of confirmation system. Let's say two people set up a meeting, but they don't know each other. Of course the signs cannot be accidentialy made by someone random (so scratching your nose is out of question) but at the same time it cannot stand out from normal interaction if you're wrong and you're talking to wrong person (so no "The grasshopers are vexing erinaceous constructs" because it will make you stand out and you can't exactly go around telling people that until you come across the right person). I was thinking about choosing a short code and response to slip in conversation and after initial confirmation moving to more specific signs (I once heard early christians would draw a curve and for the other person to add a second curve making a fish symbol). So at first you would slip in "blue" into sentence and then a "turtle" and the other person would respond by mentioning "pen" and then "fifth". If any side does this in wrong order, you are to suspect a spy and proceed normally, but giving an additional code for "you made a mistake". If the other side gives normal answers but without responding to the check code ("I know I messed up") or gives wrong answers, you have a spy confirmed. The next stage would be some gestures... I'm working on that.
  8. Yeah, when the Compounder burns lerasium, Compounding lerasium happens. But if somebody other than you charged the lerasiummind and you were to burn it...? Naah, probably just regular lerasium burning. The Dor effect still intrigues me. Can you inscribe such a set of Aons on the lerasium that the person who burned it would become Elantrian?
  9. But if it was restricted then you wouldn't have much chances for finding skaa Mistings.
  10. What if Elantrian shaped lerasium into Aon Ela and gave somebody to burn? Would that person become Elantrian? After all, lerasium rewrites sDNA and if flavored with Dor... Hm, what would happen if somebody were to burn lerasium which was charged as metalmind?
  11. Never been a fan of LEGO, but LEGO Technic however... suffice to say that my Bionicle collection is around 40 sets.
  12. I was under impression that since Inquisitors all had at least double bronze, the copper wasn't a problem to them. However, skaa Mistings obviously had no idea about that, so they thought they were safe if they had Coppercloud. So they weren't scared about burning metals, since they had Coppercloud, so Inquisitors were able to find them. This in turn meant a source for new spikes and cleaning skaa blood of Allomantic power. However, if copper was limited, skaa would be way more careful and scared about burning metals, so they would be - paradoxically - harder to find.
  13. There is a WoB that such pairs are natural to Roshar similarly how metals are natural for Scadrial. Nobody asks why there are only sixteen metals, but we ask why there are only such pairs. However, if different pairs are possible, then I'm eagerly waiting for silver Misting. Edit: WoB I'm talking about is quoted in my post on the previous page.
  14. Please tell where? Like, it's on TV (then I don't care ) or is it released somewhere in the internet?
  15. Hemalurgy works by ripping parts of soul from the donor. It's brutal for the donor. Even if the spike is made surgically so it doesn't kill the donor in the act by virtue of inflicting wounds, the spiritual damage is severe as you literally rip part of the soul by force. However, if the Hemalurgist were equipped in something capable of cutting parts of soul cleanly... Yeah, the question is whether you can carefully cut a part of the soul with a Shardblade for it to be spiked away? Can it make the process unharmful? Another question: could a Listener merge with Seon to achieve a Form?
  16. A combination of sleep deprivation, coffee and general tiredness made me realize something about manifestations of Investiture. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/53076-the-third-magic-system/?p=421195 Incoherent rambling:
  17. Food for thought: if a human were to Voidbind, he'd probably need to bond a voidspren. But, would that human be capable of Voidbinding or rather of different Surgebinding? Similarly to atium being used in Allomancy - it doesn't belong in the system, but creates a whole new set of abilities. So, a Listener who were to attract a Radiantspren... would said Listener bond the spren or merge with it? Bonding would grant Surgebinding in the traditional meaning, but merging would create a Radiantform. Again, that would mean there are more possible Forms of power. However, even if Listener can only bond Radiantspren, that still presents a lot of extremely interesting possibilities: because one spren is merged with Listener, allowing a form and another is bonded, granting Surgebinding. Now, imagine Voidform bonding a Radiantspren. Access to four Surges, a pair from Surgebinding and a pair from Voidbinding. Maybe even some sort of Compounding would be possible if the Surges overlap? Take note that Listeners are already capable of bonding dead Shardblades. So it is not impossible to bond a living spren.
  18. Napisałem artykuł o White Sand... tłumaczenie jest ciężkie
  19. I am going to offer you advice. You probably should listen to it. I am being serious. ... Now, listen. Do not buy more rats.
  20. On the other hand, please remember something about naming characters thematically... that naming a werewolf character after "wolf" in some language is gonna eventually turn out weird: how would have parents have known that their son will be bitten by werewolf when they were choosing a name? Fridge Logic is gonna kick in.
  21. Shardholders are strictly following rules which make them disorderly... or something...
  22. Okay, I can understand coffee (sort of). But tee? C'mon, there are no observable effects.
  23. Without pewter, Vin would have had problems with wielding even regular sword. Koloss swords are not only longer (about two-three times), but also broader and thicker. That's a lot of metal and a lot of weight.
  24. Sazed talks about her absorbing some of the mists in the childhood, if I'm not mistaken. That could be the cause.
