  1. @ Lord Shardbearer: As much as I know, we can't really answer how they realised they were Feruchemists. Probably you're born with it, and you just have to try every single metal, if you feel something... Or maybe they actually do have a Snapping too, but I don't think so, as never anything like that was mentioned. Overall, Feruchemy has still some secrets. Just what you asked (honestly, never thought about that), how the you get a Full Feruchemist (like you get a Mistborn with Lerasium). So yeah, probably we'll find out more about it.
  2. He only changed the way snapping works. Allomancy is still pretty much the same, they only have now more metals. They would have worked back in the first trilogy as well, but they didn't have the technology to actually produce / get them (talking about Nicrosil, Chromium, Cadmium, Bendalloy). But we only know that the snapping was changed by Sazed, but still happens in another way. But how that is, we don't know yet
  3. Yeah, I mean, of course he's gonna be their future King. To them he's like a god, so of course when he'd ever return to them, he'll be in the highest position (however you'll call it). And there i share my opinion with yours. I don't think the Sovereign needs the BoM, and don't remember that I ever read something similar. More like how you described it.
  4. Yeah, you remember correct, that's what the Southerns thought. But if you see it like that, aren't the BoM useless even if he isn't a Fullborn? To create them (if he actually created them himself) he'd need all the abilities that he stored. Why do that? Of course, you can give your powers a burst with it, but why would he hide it somewhere and come back any other time, and not just keep it so this "weapon" to boost his power is always with him? In my opinion, the only reason why he'd actually need them, is when he didn't create them himself, and I doubt that (idk why, I just want to believe he did it ) I'm actually not sure if it was discussed in this thread or another, but I think he didn't place them there for himself (for the reasons I wrote above) and that he wanted people to search for it, maybe to bring the 2 different nations together? To bring them something new, the possibility to create "Fullborn-Medaillons"? Who knows. There's always another secret
  5. Like I said, I don't think either that it's likely. But of all people from Scadrial, he would have the best chance to actually find it. And who knows, maybe Sazed wanted to help Kelsier getting back, for whatever reason No, really: I don't expect it to happen. Buuuut it would be really cool
  6. About his age: a stupid idea just came to my mind (I don't think it's likely, but, who knows): If Kelsier got some Atium (wouldn't even need that much) he could actually build medailons to store age, but accessible for everyone. And as the southerners see him like a god - who knows. Maybe some of them stored in there a lot of youth for Kelsier, or maybe everyone of them just a little bit, so it sums up. Like I said, I don't believe this will happen. But with the Medailons and Atium, it should be possible to transfer your youth to somebody else. About Kelsier being Fullborn; I always expected, that his status as Mistborn is saved in his Spiritweb, which in my opinion should stay with his "Ghost". So if he'd find a new body, he should keep them. And now, what when his Ghost is moved into a body of a Full Feruchemist? Probably it doesn't work out, but that's how I imagined it. And the best plottwist, and pretty cool would be this: Kelsier or Spook find Sazed's body (that should be around somewhere, just like Vin's, Leras' and Ati's) and Kelsier is now actually using Sazed's body.
  7. Sorry if it's maybe a little in the wrong place... But I'd really like to get this book, but as I understand it you can only get it in participating stores in America... But as I'm from Switzerland, I can't get it (already digital version would be good, but I'd prefer a physical one). Anyone an idea how/where I can get it...?
  8. @ Yata Are you really sure that there never Seer-Mistings? As I remember it, they said there might always have been (damnation, is that correct? ) Seers, but they never found them, as they only tested all the metals on peoples, except Atium, as it would be to much of waist as it's really expensive. I know the snapping was changed, agree about that, but wasn't it just changed so the Mist itself could cause the snapping, and not only when you were badly injured? I mean, this was definitly a change in it, as something like that never used to happen (even if Skaas were scared of the mists).
  9. Except of course this metal gives you a power itself. To burn Lerasium you don't have to be a Mistborn as well. Maybe it's even the way to become a Full Feruchemist, and this metal (and Trell himself) already were once on Scadrial some hundreds/thousands of years ago (I don't expect that to be the case either). I just want to say, if it is what here everyone thinks (don't think we have a confirmation, do we?) it's a godmetal. Maybe you need to be Mistborn to burn it, maybe not, you really can't tell. As it is a godmetal it's really different from all the others.
  10. Interesting, never heard of that a Metalmind would stop a Shardblade. About a normal person (like Szeth, and that's just how think it might be): I'm not sure if he really got killed by the fact that it's a Shardblade. Probably it could be stopped from cutting his "Soul", but in the end, it's still a physical sword, and he didn't wear any armor. Plus, a Shardplate can block a Shardblade, but it gets damaged from the physical impact as well. So, when I think about it like that: an invested object (and maybe person) can only stop a Shardblade from cutting on other realms, and makes it so a normal sword. If you then get hit, like Szeth, you still have a problem.
  11. Good to know that they're at least to be released in German... I hope all Sanderson-Books will. And I understand what you mean. But you should give it some more time, it took me a while to to adjust, and now I prefer reading books in english. And you can be sure everything is correct as it is in the original version. I've already found some translation mistakes... For example (Mistborn The final empire Spoilers!!) In english it says, Vin breaths in the Mist, and then gets the strength. In German, she doesn't do that, she just can do it. When I first read the whole serie on german, and at the end of book 3 it said "she breaths in the mist, like when she defeated the Lord Ruler", I was just like... wait, that never happened! So, reread it on english, and there it happened...
  12. Hi everyone, this quest is for the people which have a different native language then english, just like me So, I'm waiting for the latest books to release in german (Calamity, Shadows of Self, Bands of Mourning). I've read them myself already on english, but many friends are waiting for the german versions as they don't speak english really well. Usually it never took long for the translation to release (last thing I remember is Firefight, which was about 7 months). But now, I can't find anything about that. Shadows of Self came out about 10 Months ago, and still I can't find anything about it, not even a release date. Does anyone maybe know something about that?
  13. Like i said, material price, estimated 200 bucks (and hours for the work :P). And if I'd build more then one and sell it, I wouldnt want much more. Not doing it for money, but fun. And for your information: the clock looks great yeah, only problem; limited to 24 pieces, price over 8000 dollars
  14. Hi everyone, so first of all: I didn't create anything yet, but I'm searching for a long time already a project (not only by drawing, building something). And I finally had an idea, which I think would be really cool looking, and wanted to ask what people here think of it: So, I recently saw videos of the Ferrolic, a clock showing the time with Ferrofluid ( ) So when I saw it, it really remembered me of the corrupted Investiture which Nightblood exhales. So my idea: Build a picture frame with 2 Plexiglases, in between Ferrofluid. In the middle of the Frame a Picture (not drawn, cut out of black Plexi) of Nightblood. The Ferrofluid comes out directly behind it, and is with electromagnets randomly drawn to all directions, so it really looks like it's leaking corrupted stormlight. (Yes, they need to be Electromagnets, not only normal ones, as otherwhise it wouldn't be "random" enough, wouldn't look natural. I estimate the material price (Plexiglas, Electromagnets, Electronic to control said magnets, Ferrofluid) about 200$, as I'd need many magnets, so it really can go in all directions as I want, and as Ferrofluid isn't as cheap, and I'll need... much of it. So, what do you guys think? Is it worth the effort (and money) to build a "moving picture" like that to place somewhere in my living room? (forgot: for now estimated size: 60x40cm, for Americans 23"x15")
  15. Same here, as I normaly read books on german, I started to read Sandersons books on english as well (for german, they're also waiting for Shadow of Self). Other question... Oversleep said, that before the deepness, Scadrial had at least trains... Where do you know that from? I don't think that was mentioned in a book, was it? And about the technical advancement on Scadrial: I honestly think, for only 300 years, they got pretty far... guns, cars, electricity... all not bad, if you look what they had before. Plus, the Southerns of Scadrial are maybe from the "normal" technology not as advanced, but surely are regarding to Allomancy and Feruchemy. It's probably not as spread as in the North, but it seems like they understand it much better (thanks to Kelsier). Also, they're really far using that to enhance their technology. And how I imagine it so far: As Sanderson said in the end of the Mistborn series, they're going to spacetravel, I guess this is going to be like Science Fiction, not with worldhopping. So, they won't really need worldhopping, and I'm sure once they come together with people of other planets, they'll quickly get really cosmere-aware
  16. In the last chapter, it's only described that they need to find a new "string". And that Spook has Inquisitor spikes laying around, and should probably try to get immortal. Who knows, probably it's just a mistake on the coppermind, and instead of "Inquisitor spikes" it's written "Koloss spikes"
  17. And sorry, wanted to name the title "Revealed how Kel came back"... But I don't know how to change the title once posted
  18. Hi everyone, first, I hope the title is okay regarding spoilers (overall, I post it in the Secret History Spoiler Board, right?)... About my question: So I was looking something up about Spook on Coppermind, and the very last sentence there confused me, and is new to me: "He is visited at some point by the cognitive shadow of Kelsier, who says they should work together to unravel the mysteries of the Cosmere, use the spikes from Koloss to make Spook a Hemalurgic and bring Kelsier back to the Physical Realm." The first part I knew. But the thing about using the spikes from Koloss and make Spook a "Hemalurgic", and how this brings him back, I don't know. Does anyone know where that comes from? I don't think that was written in the book.
  19. Don't really sure about it, but probably it's a little similar like when the spike is out of the body / out of blood at creating it: The longer it's not inside the new body, the weaker it gets. Probably it's the same with the positions? The closer at a specific bindpoint, the stronger and more efficient it gets, and probably the eyes are exactly the binding point. So, you could possibly place them through, let's say, the shoulder, but through the eye the gained power is way stronger

  22. @Oversleep I'd like to see that post of TLR's perspective, but I don't really know what to search for (there are so many TLR-discussions on this forum ), so if you could "dig it up" that would be really nice Another question (just came to my mind): It was discussed, if TLR had Nicrosil to compound (or, if not that much, at least store) investiture. I'm sure, we d all agree he could have create Nicrosil at the Well. About the point somebody mentioned, that they'd have found an unkown metal on his body: I remember that Elend said, after he sold the bracers of TLR, that it contained almost no Atium (or, just not a lot). Isn't it possible that the actually where his Nicrosilminds? I don't remember that I ever read somewhere of what exact metal the bracers were. And I mean, it would make sense. If I were him, I'd have there as "backup plan" Atium (for age), Gold (for healing) Nicrosil (for great powerbursts) and probably steel (for speed) in (we all know he should have protect them better, or have even another set of backup, or whatever)
  23. Hi everyone, Qestions about Returned 1.) so, of course we know that the Returned consume 1 Breath per week, otherwhise they'd die. But, why exactly is that so? I know the divine Breath is definied as a Splinter. Is it of the nature of splinters, that they consume investiture (Sprens on Roshar might actually consume Stormlight, but how should we know that?)? I mean, they actually bear a piece of Endowment (or it's Investiture), why do they need an additional one each week (even if a way smaller one) to survive? 2.) Might it be, that a Returned kind of has a Bond with his Divine Breath (just like Knight Radiants with their Spren), and this gives them their power? Both cases are human beings together with a Spren. And if so, would that mean Kinght Radiants need to consume some Stormlight all couple of days, weeks or whatever, or their Bond would break just as it would at the Returned? 3.) Givving away their divine Breath heals a person. But does the person receiving it actually get that Breath as well, or is it lost? Questions about Nightblood 4.) In Warbreaker, we learned that there's no way to force the breath out of somebody else. The only way is if the person is willing to and says the correct command. But regardless, Nightblood can just force the breath out of you, without the will of you. How can this be possible? And might there be a way, that a normal human (or Returned) can do just the same thing as Nightblood and actually steal breath? 5.) We know, when holding Nightblood (unsheathed), it consumes Breath/Investiture. When all of that is gone, it consumes your spark of life, and you die (this sounds to me not like "stabbing yourself with Nightblood". It sounds more like... just dying). So, of course Vasher could hold it for a while, as he held a lot of Breath. But when he throws it in to ordinary people, so they kill each other for it: wouldn't Nightblood just consume the breath of the holder and his lifespark, so he'd almost immediatly die? I'm not sure anymore, might it be that they never unsheathed Nightblood? Kinda can't imagine that... 6.) Type 1 BioChromatic entities (Returned) need that breath to survive. So, does a Type 4 (Nightblood) as well? Like, does it have to be drawn frequently or otherwhise it would die? I just imagine that, because this both Types are the only sentient BioChromatic entities.
  24. Hmm, well i wasnt that aware that compounders did that already... Are we sure about that? I honestly just think it's really just the opposite of the known compounding. In the end, the normal compounding is way easier to use then you'd expect, when you look how powerful it is. And like i explained, i think it involves bringing Feruchemy in at the middlr of the process (just how its done at compounding Feruchemy). What about charging the metal you ingested with Feruchemy while you already burn it?
  25. So, I know there are plenty of theories about compounding Allomancy, but I thought I give it a try anyways (it's my first theory i post, so probably I'll miss some details). I don't think it has anything to do with Nicrosil (storing Investiture). I think compounding Allomancy works for any Twinborn with the same metal (a Steel-Twinborn, or whatever). I don't think either you can burn a metal and then store the result (example, a steel-metalmind can store physical speed, and not pushing on metals). So, in my theory, compounding Allomancy is just the exact opposite of compounding Feruchemy. I'm going to explain that step by step, how we know it from Feruchemy and how I think it's at Allomancy (Note: This shouldn't break any "Law" of Feruchemy or Allomancy, just as the compounding we know doesn't either. It's only here to fill up resources, and I think it's the same). Now, finally to my theory (explained with steel): At Feruchemy, you store it first, then you burn it allomanticly, which gives you a big burst of the first stored ability. This means, first you use the technic you want to compound in a preparing step (storing an ability), then you use the other one to get the burst of said first ability. I think it's exactly the same at compounding Allmonancy. This means: First, Prepare the Allomancy (swallow metal). Use the other ability (Feruchemy). This means, you're storing the ability into the ingested metal. Now, instead of actually storing the ability, your metalreserves will start to grow --> Feruchemy turns into Allomancy, but of course, as it is compounding, you get much more "allomantic metal" then you stored your ability (store a little speed, get a lot of steelreserve). The stored speed will be lost, but remember: At compounding Allomancy it's just the same. When you burn your metalmind, you don't get the power anymore that the metal usually grants you (as it's a "new metal"). If you burn a steel-metalmind, you don't get the ability anymore to push on metals, only your speed. So it is here, invest a little Feruchemy and get a lot of Allomancy. I know this whole text seems now like a big chaos (which it is....) so here an overview. Left the compounding we know, right allomantic Compounding: Feruchemic: Allomantic: Step 1: Step 1: Store Ability in Metalmind Ingest Metal Step 2: Step 2: Burn Metal allomanticly Charge the metal isnide of you with Feruchemy Step 3: Step 3: Step 2 multiplies stored Ability (Allomancy is lost) Step 2 multiplies stored metal (Feruchemy is lost) I don't think we've ever seen what happens if you charge a metal that's ready to burn with Allomancy. And like explained: At normal compounding, you involve Allomancy in the middle of it (after charging). Here you involve Feruchemy in the middle of it (after swallowing the metal). So, I hope you understand my theory, if any questions are left, feel free to ask, and of course, feel free to give comments about it
