  1. Well, that would be great, but probably Sazed would just teach Kelsier things about himself, as he is now "God". But in the end, the church of the survivor is way cooler then just praying to a shard. Marsh: In the lost metal, he and Kel will fight and one of them dies, Marsh fighting for Harmony, and Kelsier... well for whatever reason / side. He's Kel and doesn't need good reasons (would be epic, 2 brothers fighting, both are now fullborn, but I'd hate to see that fight happen). Hoid
  2. Kelsier arguing with Sazed about some unimportant things (maybe Sazed trying to convince Kelsier with some Religion ) So now Vasher/Zahel
  3. Hi everyone, first of all: This contains spoilers for Words of Radiance and Warbreaker! So, i wasn't sure where to post it - the Warbreaker or the Stormlight part, but i've decided for this here. So, we know Zahel is actually Vasher. And we know he went to Roshar, because he can use Stormlight instead of Breaths to survive (as he's a Returned). So, Returned can use Breaths as well for Awakening, if they have "too many Breaths", and not just their weekly Breath to survive. So, as he can consume Stormlight instead of Breaths to survive, does that mean, he (or all Returned) can consume Stormlight as well, just like a Knight Radiant does? If not I don't see how he should consume his weekly dose of it. And if yes, the question is, if he actually has powers like a Knight Radiant, or if he can do some new stuff with it (Awaken things with Stormlight??), or if non of that (that he'd just consume it, and if he consumes more then he needs, it's just useless). Other question: What about the Weeping (that was the name of the time without Highstorms, right?)? In this time, his source of Stormlight is gone - So, i suggest in this time he'd have to leave Roshar and go back to Nalthis to survive, or another place where he gets Investiture from. Other thoughts?
  4. Another problem that I see with Hemalurgy (in theory, existed on Scadrial as well): It's not just about finding a victim to steal the power from. But how does someone who has probably no powers, or at least isn't that strong (that's why he wanna steal power, right?) want to spike, for example, a Surgebinder, a Shardbearer or an Elantrian? They're all so powerful, it wouldn't be easy to even try it. Who knows, maybe we even saw attemps to spike some people on other planets, but the plan never worked out (not because Hemalurgy didn't work, but because they couldn't even spike them)? On Scadrial, the Inquisitors had the huge advantage, that they already were really powerful, and created new Inquisitors or made themself even stronger. Plus, there were a few of them. Some Inquisitors spiking a Surgebinder? Possibly. Some normal man spiking a Surgebinder? I don't see that happen (except he's running out of stormlight of course)
  5. Thanks for the quote. But just like you said yourself, I don't think Teft knows too much about shardblades. But it would be, just how I said it (and you other guys as well): I doubt you can hurt yourself with the Spren, the Spren itself would interact. But a dead, so, a normal shardblade, I think you can hurt yourself.
  6. Hi everyone, I saw this interesting facebook-post of Sanderson (I guess some of you saw that as well, but for those who didn't see it or don't have facebook): It's a video of a guy, arguing why a Shardblade is better then a Lightsaber. To be honest, it seems like he isn't that cosmere-aware like all of us here, and doesn't seem to know exactly what it means, and what it needs, to become a Knight Radiant. Anyways, still interesting, and funny. But be aware: Words of Radiance spoilers in the Video!!! I honestly don't know if im allowed to post links, but I just try If the link is blocked: The video is called: Geek talk: Shardblades - the ultimate fantasy sword? (with spoilers) Out of the video, there comes an interesting question, and I don't have a clear answer for it: Can someone hurt themself with a Shardblade? With a living spren (so, Knight Radiant), I'm almost sure you can't. As the spren doesn't want to hurt you, I'm sure it would have a way to avoid hurting you. But as a Shardblade is dead, it doesn't really have a will anymore - So it can't avoid hurting you. Any other thoughts about that? Plus, share your opinion with us about the video as well
  7. A big advantage of Vasher and Marsh compared to Sazed and Raoden as well (at least I think so, I didn't read Elantris in a while), is that they both are very experienced fighters. Sazed was hardly fighting, and if I remember correctly, Raoden as well. He might be strong and quick, but is he experienced enough with his powers in an actual fight against 2 guys that have hundreds of years of experience? Other point: If you say Arena, the question is how big this should be. I guess in close combat Raoden has no chance against Vasher or Marsh, as quick as he is. But on bigger distant, he might defeat Vasher, Marsh would be harder already
  8. Other question about pushing / pulling Aluminum: I know it's said Aluminum can't be pushed at all, nor influenced by other magic systems. But the same was said about metals inside of your body. The Lord Ruler was allomanticly so strong he easily could push on the metals in Vins body. So, might it be possible, that somebody with the strength of the Lord Ruler (or by being spiked several times with allomantic steel to become a super-strong coinshot) can push on Aluminum? If it's not 100% Aluminum, he could probably effect the small pollutions of other metals in the Aluminum. But i mean, could they probably push on 100% Aluminum? Same for Stormlight-healing / Gold-healing, might it be possible to heal not healable "Aluminum-Wounds" by simply totally overpowering (putting waaaaayyy more Investiture in it then usually)
  9. If Marsh is in his current state, then to me it's obvious he'd win. He's almost like a second Lord Ruler. I'm kinda surprised though; in an other discussion, there were huge discussions of who'd win - The Lord Ruler or Vasher. I think he's ignored a little to much here. True, the others are all powerful, but if he has a lot of breaths with him, so he can awake his clothes, or just whatever he wants, he's very dangerous. If he has Nightblood in addition, he's very, very, very dangerous and outmatches for sure Dalinar, Szeth, Kaladin and Lift. Miles I don't give to big of a chance. He's not a great fighter, and even with compounding health, there will be the moment when he's out of health and gold. And as he's not a good fighter, but the others are, he'd just get smashed over and over again, until finally killed. But in the end (like mentioned at the beginning) if Marsh is his peak, he'd be a "Mistborn" and probably almost (if not complete) full feruchemist. He can compound everything, and has so many different and strong powers, he'd win this fight definitly
  10. That's right. All Epics that have their powers now, should keep them always, like they have no weakness. As Calamity isn't here anymore, he can't pull back when someone's scared. So, they basically should always keep their powers. That would make it really hard to fight some strong, evil epics (like Obliteration). But I think the Reckoners should be good anyways, as they have now 3 High Epics, + there should now be much more good Epics. And High Epics should be "killable" without their weakness anyways (even Steelheart) with a really strong burst of power of some sort. So now there wouldn't be a trap-setting, but some super-cool fights between High-Epics
  11. That twins withthe same powerset share weakness: I don't think so... The power seems to be linked to DNA (explained above, cause of motivators) but the weakness is based on fear, a feeling. And both twins can feel different. That Tavis forcefield where destroyed by the Tensors as well, i think more that this was because the tensorpower is just so powerful. David said, even invulmerable Epics died of huge energies, like nukes or Obliteration. I think tensors are just powerful enough. Because his weakness, fear of failure, isn't so directly connected to fear his own powers (at least in my opinion...). Why he didn't heal of the spears? I dont have a clear answer... But I think maybe because he thought his own weakness wrong (remember, he told Tia his powers is it),he expected himself to not be able to heal. So his Epic powers didnt do it. Other thing: Prof, David and Megan all truly faced their fears, and "took" the power completely from Calamity. So, when they see their weakness, it's not possible anymore that Calamity pulls back, so they lose powers (how David explained at the end). So, this means, they don't have any weakness anymore, and neither does Obliteration, right? So how they wanna kill him (or get killed)? Just being waaaaayy outpowered (like with a nuke)?
  12. Hey everyone, So, just finished Calamity, and now I have a point that in my opinion isn't really explained. I understand that Prof and Tavi have a similar Powerset, and that David and his dad do as well (of course, in different realms). But why does David (and so his dad) do have exactly the same portfolio as Steelheart (specially that his dad wears exactly the same outfit, except the symbol)? My only explanation is, David got the same as Steelheart because he was his first real enemy, the person he hated and studied for so long. Any other thoughts? Like, whatever you could think off. Or say its just random, but that's as "adroit as asseventeen geriatric walruses trying to juggle live swordfish"
  13. Probably I would be able to do it too. But I really don't know without looking it up, how to make all the single pics from the different positions of the cloak... @Unodus: Best you go to the coppermind wiki, and there in the Kelsier article. They have the picture there of him, without any writtings on it and the full one (not splitted like on the bookcover)
  14. Hey everyone, so, I don't know how it is about you, but when I look at the picture of Kelsier, at Secret History, I always just wait to see his Mistcloak moving... I was thinking to try and make it with a GIF (so I could use it as a Live-Wallpaper on my phone), but honestly, I have almost no experience with Photoshop, or any other Photo-Programm to make the different Pictures of the Mistcloak, to make it look like its moving... Anyone experience with it?
  15. Yeah, I know how normaly Metalminds and being Mistborn works. I just thought with Investiture it might be different (which, when I think now about it, is stupid). I just still wonder how exactly the Investiture is used up. Over time you spend "Fullborn"? Or when you actually use the power? And in the end, you still get Infinite Investiture with those, you can compound. But what about using all Investiture up at once, to get a super burst of Allomancy? You'd be way more powerful then everything ever seen. I think this should be possible...
  16. Hey everyone, I have a topic about the Bands of Mourning themselves... So, the Lord Ruler (or whoever created them - that doesn't matter right now) charged them with Investiture, so you'd become basically a fullborn. So, first question: The Bands were made of multiple layers of different metals (mentioned in the book). For each "normal" feruchemical metal one (like steel, iron, and whatever), and the most important one, Nicrosil. With the stored Investiture, you get the abilities. First, do there need to be 2 Nicrosil-Minds, one for Ferochemy, one for Allomancy (I think one is all you need...)? Second, ist basically how exactly this stored Investiture works. For myself, I first thought, once you held them, you'd keep the abilities, even if you put them away. I thought, "consuming" the Investiture kinda changes your status to a Fullborn, and this wouldn't change back (obviously I was wrong ). But the Investiture was used up. But why? A Mistborn or Feruchemist doesn't use up Investiture to use the abilities, and if they do, they'd have kinda Infinite of it, which doesn't make sense. So how exactly was it being used up? Wax didn't "burn" it instead of metal, he required the metals. And he had other Metalminds where the other abilities were stored. How exactly does a Mistborn and Feruchemist use Investiture then? here my thoughts about it... For Feruchemist: They only require a little. They store Investiture in form of abilities, and use it in the same form again. They lose a little at taking it out, maybe that's the Investiture to use Feruchemical abilities Then for Mistborn: First option: They have infinite Investiture, and burning the metal only releases it (very unlikely). Second option: The Investiture is stored in metal (I doubt that as well, as a Feruchemist would "doublecharge" every metal then. We know thats impossible). Third option: By burning metal, they get Investiture directly from somewhere else (maybe Harmony? - The metal burning is only to show who gets the power). This option seems weird to myself, but makes the most sense to me... So, any exact idea why the Investiture was used up? And now that i know that it works like that: If it works just as normal Feruchemy, you should be able to use all Investiture up in a veeeeeeeryyyyy long time, and be a "weak" Mistborn/Feruchemist. Or you could use all up in a super blast, and you'd even be way more powerful then the Lord Ruler himself. Your metalpushings would be way more powerful then anything ever seen. Any thoughts about all that? I'm sure i missed some points. But I'd be happy if I'd understand how the Investiture gets used up
  17. Where is Spooks ideas to spike old Allomancers/Ferruchemists mentioned? I don't remember that... But possibly, I really just forgot... More about topic: I think he's still around as well. I have to agree, it would be a great plot twist if the Lord Mistborn himself got leader of the Set, but I liked Spook, I don't want him to be evil
  18. I know your problem... I'm still trying to figure something out as well, but it seems like I'm at the same stage as you are... whenever I get a good idea, I'll let you know
  19. Oh, okay, so some more explanation. But still, there are still some symbols that we've never seen in another way, right? (I know, these stickers are around for a bit, so I guess somebody else saw this already)
  20. Hi everyone, so, i was just browsing at Sandersons store, to order the Leatherbound Elantirs.... And at the product "MINI Allomantic Symbol Decals" I've realized something... there aren't 16, but 24 symbols. Well we know 18, the 16 "actual metals", regardings Alloy of Laws and Shadows of Self time, + Atium and Lerasium. So there are at least 6 unknow metals, I don't know if somebody ever realised this before, but i thought it's interesting... specially the symbol in the down left corner looks really cool and interesting I bet this is gonna be Harmonium So, have you guys ever realized that before, or heard of it? Any thoughts? PS.: I attached the picture as well, so you don't have to go to the store by yourself
  21. Well thanks everybody, I'll think of something. @Argent: I'm trying to think about something for the Leatherbound Elantris as well
  22. Hey guys, So, in Sandersons store you can get the books signed and personalized... what kind of personalization do you guys get there? I want to order, but I have honestly no idea whatt i should get there...
  23. That you can become a Compound-Savant of a specific metal makes sense... Like Ookla the Moonless said, Miles didn't feel pain... And it seemed like the Lord Ruler either. Remember, he got stabbed by to spears and didn't show any reaction. True, it could be from just burning or flaring pewter, but I doubt it, as there really wasn't any reaction at all. I'm sure, if you'd stab a Mistborn or Pewterarm (that's that kind of Mistings name right?) they'd at least struggle for a moment, or show any reaction
  24. Yeah, but as he was stuck i have to agree with Charononus. I guess it would be possible for a normal human, maybe not that easy, but possible. I can't remember that exactly sadly... (gotta reread Mistborn trilogy...) When Marsh pulled the spikes, you didn't really read how he did it... hard to know how much effort it took him. Wasn't it like someone actually tried to pull a spike, and it was really hard to get it out?
  25. Well, Samsung Galaxy Tabs are good. You can use them for almost everything (we have a lot of them at work around...). Galaxy Tab S2 is a good choice. But of Samsung, I like the Galaxy Note 10.1 the most. It comes with a Pen and some special functions, really cool... I used Sony Xperia Tablets, but don't really like them... Private (not at work) I use a Sony Duo 13... a 13 inch tablet, and when you open it (slide, not like a normal notebook) you get a notebook / tablet hybrid. As well with a pen, great to draw (with Windows 8, or now, 10). Really love using that. But is really expensive...
