    Stormlight

Sorry if I ask that now in here, but Argent said, we have some evidence that stormlight might actually be the Investiture of Adonalsium. What kind of evidences are that? I never heard of that before...
  2. What you're asking is, if someone has, let's say, a normal piercing (no hemalurgic spike), if another person, who's a Feruchemist, can use said piercing as a metalmind, correct? Actually I don't see why this shouldn't work, but probably it's the same as with Allomancy pushing/pulling, and the Soul intereference is to much already... Don't think we know that. What good would it be anyways? You need to touch the metal to store stuff/have access to the storage (example: Lord Ruler doesn't have access to his Atium-Metalminds after he doesn't touch them anymore).
  3. Who knows, maybe you can use it like that as well. If you look it up on Coppermind (just the metal Nicrosil) it says that at the Feruchemy part. It looks like it was used like that in the Mistborn Adventure Game, so I guess it shouldn't just be completly wrong...
  4. Well, Nicrosil-Feruchemy is kind of strange, and not really understood yet... As I first understood it (from Bands of Mourning) it's more or less that you can store the ability to use some kind of Investiture. So, let's say you're a full Feruchemist and Allomancer (like the Lord Ruler). He could store for 1 hour his ability to be an Allomancer. In this hour, he couldn't burn any metal. But when he pulls then the stored ability out, he can be for an hour an Allomancer twice as strong (this is how the artifact Bands of Mourning were made, but while it was done, the person stored it's whole identity, so the Bands countain the ability of a Mistborn and Full Feruchemist, but they're not locked. everyone can use it). I've just read in the Coppermind wiki, that Nicrosil-Feruchemy actually was used to convert forms of Investiture. I didn't read that myself, so I can't say... but like I said, we don't really understand that yet. I'd like to see that converting in the books as well. Regardless, for sure if somebody has about all Magic-Systems (like, probably Hoid. Remember it's not confirmed he actually swallowed the Lerasium), he'd be really powerful, and could probably pull of some cool Hacks. The Lord Ruler kind off hacked Ferochemy, there would be so many ways to get some kind of hacks if you have access to all...
  5. The one of me isn't in the same way comparable like the ones of you... but it still got me a little bit... Assassin's Creed Syndicate (the last one) remembers me just from the whole world to the second Mistborn era... Just the style all the people dress, the state of technology, the coaches everywhere, and specialy, as you're an assassin, climbing around in a world like that, kind of remembers to Wax jumping around through an alike time-era with his coinshot-abilities... anyone else felt like that? I played the game at the same time as I read Shadows of Self (or Bands of Mourning? not sure...). So it really got me. Really felt like I'm in a similar world. My second one isn't a game, but it really got me: The legend of Korra (from the Legend of Aang, the last Airbender, the second part). There, the airbenders live kind of isolated on a small island, living like monks, always meditating. In the big part of the city, they are far more advanced in technology, with cars just coming up more and more. And again, in a really similar timesetting... So, this really remembered me as well to the second era of Mistborn, the Airbenders are like the Feruchemists, living isolated as monks. Anyone else had this feelings?
  6. Right, I didn't think about the hunger increasing. Anyways... now ignoring Nightblood (well, kind of): like I've described before, if a feruchemical charge is Investiture, this means that a Feruchemist has kind of infinite Investiture. He can keep storing and collect investiture, but in the end, if he stops storing, he's back to normal again. So, looking like that, all storable attributes of a Feruchemist (maybe of all people from Scadrial) are Investiture. But this seems rather strange to me, that they basically have infinte of it.... Where does it come from? And if this attributes are Investiture, does this mean, if holding Nightblood, and without Metalminds, Nightblood would fuel from attributes itself (as they need to be Investiture-based, so it can be stored)until the holder dies?
  7. Hi everyone, so, yesterday I just had some random minds, and kept thinking about it (as stupid it might be, strange theories are still fun to think about). So, my thought was just, what would happen, if an Allomancer would hold Nightblood? As the metal itself does not contain the Investiture, I'm pretty sure it would just consume the "lifespark". But as soon as the Allomancer actually burns his metals, he gets Investiture from Preservation, right? So, I guess, Nightblood would be consuming this. This means, an Allomancer could burn a metal, holding Nightblood, and nothing would happen, he wouldn't get the effect of the burned metal (but wouldn't die either, as long as he keeps burning it). Then, about a Feruchemist. Here I'm really not too sure, but at the same time I think it's interesting. So, first, a feruchemical charge is basically Investiture, is that correct? I mean, it kind of has to be, otherwhise (if it would be kind of a "linking" to Preservation or Ruin) it really would not make sense... What then might be an argument against all that: You store Investiture in a Nicrosilmind... but was we don't understand this too well yet, I think it should be alright. Or does any of you think, a feruchemical charge isn't Investiture...? So when we asume that it is Investiture, Nightblood should, in theory, be able to get it out and fuel itself with it. But then we come to something else, which, in my opinion, kind of seems like that, but I find it rather strange. So, if Nightblood can do that, does this mean, a Feruchemist (probably needs to be a full one) can constantly store some of his attributes, and so hold Nightblood basically for as long as he wants? Then I kept thinking, just about Feruchemy. If a feruchemical charge is actual Investiture, what does this mean to a Feruchemist/people on Scadrial? It basically means, all their senses, strenghts and so on are Investiture, as they can store it. But this would mean, they kind of... have infinity Investiture, even when not all at once. Think about it, someone could keep storing and storing into new Metalminds, but for himself, as soon as he stops storing, he doesn't have a negative effect. But still, the Investiture is stored. So, what does this mean...? Do they have like that "infinite" access to Investiture (not at once), or might it be something... like a linking to Preservation/Ruin just like Allomancy? Honestly, I think both is... a bit weird...
  8. So, i was just going to order, just to discover, that the shop does not ship to Switzerland... hopefully they can arange something for me there....
  9. damnation, and I'm still trying to figure out a good question to ask when ordering it and as I wanna orderElantris Leatherbound as well, i gotra figure out 2... Any good ideas here?
  10. Just like everyone else was writting, just reading all the cosmere-books is alreadya great help, and some thing you might find out by yourself. If you don't find something, don't worry, hints are sometimes really hard to get. But then I can recommend the coppermind, as it's like a Sanderson-Wiki, where you can read all that stuff up. But for Adonalsium's sake, please don't go there and read everything up before you read the actual book. I always first read the book, and if I'm interested in something special, I might go look it up there. It helped me to understand a little better what a Shard is, what Adonalsium is, and so on. And last but not least: You didn't mentioned it anywhere, so I'll just tell you: Dont forget to read Elantris! It's also Cosmere, just in case you didn't know.
  11. I never thought about that, but who knows, maybe it's true. I agree, Shashara would have died when using her Divine Breath to awaken something. But, what if the didn't know then, how to hold / hide their Divine Breath, and it was an accident, and she died of that? Do we really know that Vasher killed her, or only from what Denth (and maybe Vasher himself) are telling. Maybe it really was just an accident, or Vasher somehow forced her to do it. It's just kind of strange to me, that Nightblood should be that powerful with "only" 1000 Breaths. Of course, 1000 are a lot, but compared to what Susebron has it's almost nothing. And still, he's really powerful. Honestly, I think it's more likely it's not like I just wrote down. But who knows? Might be possible in my opinion
  12. Thought so, but I wasnt sure. Thanks for the really quick answer
  13. Oh, at least its new info Hmm, maybe. Maybe it's the woman with the mask of the ghostblood (forgot her name). She might actually be from Scadrial (as the mask looks like them from the south) and i dont remember... Did you see her eyes? Maybe she wears the mask to hide one or two eyespikes. Or probably Denth, from Warbreaker. I've read that guesses here too, because he's so fast. Maybe he got a spike for strel ferochemy, or just human speed (like Kolosses get human strengh...). So far, this are my best guesses. It would be interesting if Ruin (or now Harmomy) can talk to people with spikes on other planets. Then you could search for people that look insane and hear voices (who knows, maybe its Dalinar and that's why he gets visions Lol, of course, i dont think so, just a joke
  14. Hmm, okay. Well I only knew there was some discussions about it, not that we actually have WoBs about it, that basically confirmed it's possible, and specially that we've even seen it already (even if well hidden). So, sorry for the basically worthless post
  15. I know that it was discussed, that in theory, Hemalurgy is usable on other planets (for example: for stealing someones (dead) Shardblade). But this seems to me, that this is actually a proof, that it was used on other planets, and not only that it would be possible. About the Investiture: I agree with you, it would be a normal Hemalurgic Spike and be linked to Ruin. Maybe I didn't say it correctly, what I mean. I understand that as the proof, that it was used for something not linked to Preservation or Ruin (so, nothing to do with Allomancy or Feruchemy). Maybe Breath? A Shardblade, or just whatever? Maybe, it's to understand the "regardless of Investiture" as anyone might receive the spike, whatever kind of Investiture he has before... I don't know. But as she writes it, it really seems to me as a proof, that A), it really was used on other planets (which I think so far we only had Assumptions, no proofs) and B.), it was used for something else then Allomancy or Feruchemy (and I don't think it's something meant like Humanstrength, like for a Koloss. Human strength has nothing to do with Investiture, does it?)
  16. Hi everyone, I think it's only a minor spoiler for Arcanum Unbounded... still said it anyways. To my topic: In the part "The Scadrian System (written by Kriss) at page 152, there's following sentence: "I maintain, however, that the one of these with the largest potential impact on the cosmere is Hemalurgy. Usable by anyone with the right knowledge, this dangerous creation has proven able to warp souls regardless of planet or Investiture, creating false Connections that no Shard designed or intended." As she writes, it has proven to have effects, regardsless of planet or Investiture, which means, it actually was used somewhere else, not only by the Kandra-Worldhopper, as it also says, regardless of Investiture. Which means, with Investiture of another Shard then Preservation or Ruin. Any idea if there are any hints, where this was meant? Just hit me, maybe the strange spike from Bleeder of Shadow of Self was meant - but that's not an explanation for the different planet (the Worldhopper-Kandra surely got it's spikes on Scadrial).
  17. A child that has "mixxed" sDNA could be interesting. Like Spoolofwhool said, it might or might not. We just don't know, as we haven't seen yet anyone with parents from different planets (maybe we did, but if so we don't know). But really, good question. About Returned not having children; That's not really correct, all Returned are capable of having children, if they have some special knowledge (which we don't have yet). Proof for that are Siri and Vivenna, as the royal locks come as one of their ancestors was a Returned
  18. I just had some thoughts about Type IV BioEntities, when reading this whole article. If somebody knows the answers from any of this, from WoBs or whatever, let me know So, they could awake a metalsword and make it sentient. Are those 2 things related? I don't really think so... As I think, it should be possible as well to create other Type IV BioEntities, let's say, out of a puppet, or even a dead body (not taking about lifeless). So, shouldn't this be possible as well? Of course, with the right amount of Breaths and the right commands. I mean, what if you have way enough breaths (like Susebron) and command a dead body to destroy evil? Or a puppet? Will it become sentient, be like a human, and go and kill? I just really can't imagine it's the metal that made it a Type IV BioEntity. Or maybe, with a better command, you could create your own Returned (well, kind of Returned). Then the next thing is connected with what I wrote before. The question is, which was the deciding factor at the awakening of Nightblood, which made it sentient? The amount of breaths, the command, the fact that Returned awakened it, or was it (what I doubt) the metal? So let's just suggest, that they awakened it, but this deciding factor was slightly different (best example, command a little different). Would it be possible, that you awake a sword, with exactly the same powers (vaporizing at touching the blade, "control" the mind of evil people, suck up Investiture) but without being sentient? Edit: At writting the second part, I just had this idea in my mind (but I'm not gonna edit what I just wrote): What if really the metal is the deciding part to make it sentient? Maybe it's because the metal itself is just... to hard. all awakened objects were easily movable, bendable, and so on. But metal isn't. So, is it the fact, that an awakened sword (not sentient) couldn't act by the command of the Awakener, so it develops an own mind?
  19. Of course, I understand what you mean. Who knows, would be a cool idea. A whole, for example, in the shoulder, surely is better, even if not good either. But it also might be possible, that Lerasium doesn't work for Hemalurgy at all. I mean, Atium as the Godmetal of Ruin, makes sense it's the perfect metal for that cause. But Lerasium as the metal of Preservation... it's perfect for Preservations "Magic" (Allomancy) but Hemalurgy? It's completely against it's nature. On the other hand, the perfect hemalurgic metal is very powerful in Allomancy as well... Who knows
  20. You mean the victim doesn't lose anything, except... you know... it has a hole in his head?
  21. I didn't exactly see a Character, but I think it fits into that post aas well. The TV-show "Legend of Korra" (second part of Avater: The last airbender) is placed in a world that made some technical advances compared with the first series, and there are first cars (just like second Era Mistborn). The Airbenders live like monks, on a small island, not disturbed by anyone else. It really remembered me to Mistborn Era 2, just how the Feruchemists live in there
  22. Other question: At compounding, you kind of could say you create yourself a new allomantic metal, which gives you feruchemical charge at burning right? When burning it, the normal allomantic effect is lost (correct? not sure about this one). So, is it possible to get a Savant at the metal you created for yourself? Like, the Lord Ruler being a Savant for Atium charged with youth? So he'd probably get even more out, or an extra effect...
  23. Reading the 2 last comments, I've just had a thought... Obviously, Kaladin should be stronger then a normal Shardbearer anyways (carrying Blade and Plate) anyways. But still: I don't think Knight Radiants can breath in the Stormlight being hold of other Knight Radiants / Honorblade carriers (otherwhise the battle between Kaladin and Szeth would have been completly different). But as the Gemstones of a Shardblade aren't "linked" or something to the owner, Kaladin should be able to just pull the Stormlight out of a Shardplate, and he's just completly immobile right? Any thoughts why this shouldnt work?
  24. Sorry, didn't notice you've mentioned it Hmm, I don't actually remember that he was holding parts of a Shardplate, but it's a while ago I've read the books. But thinking about it, it could be because the Plate is made of Minor Spren. If they arent sentient, it makes sense to me that he didn't hear any screaming. A Shardblade is something different, as it once was a living being, having feelings and all, and then they got betrayed. But as they weren't even sentient, and were just kind of pulled to him, I'm not sure if you even can say they were betrayed.
  25. Your theory doesn't sound bad at all, but recently (like... today or yesterday) I've just read another theory, which I like more. So, remember how Windspren start to hurl around Kaladin, when he's using his powers? The more he pushes his powers, the more Windspren are attracted to him. The theory basically says, that the non-sentient Spren (belonging to the Order, Windrunner -> Windspren) form the shardplate. Which would make sense how humanity got their shardplates, they died and manifested in that form, just like the shardblades. Probably, when Kaladin was fighting Szeth, he was really close to obtain his shardplate as he was surounded by many Windspren http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/55761-surgebinding-while-using-shardplate/ Find it at this link
