  1. My first clue was that she wanted infused spheres, but that was for reading. Then, she has an almost uncanny ability to determine guilt. Sanderson didn't have to have the part with the "farmer," it's something that he put in there, possibly to clue us about a proto-Radiant. It's possible that she could have the potential to be a Skybreaker, a good one, or perhaps another order with attributes concerned with noticing details.
  2. Granted, but Coulsen dies again. I wish for the temperature of the air that exists in the space defined by my body and a one-inch radius from my body to always be exactly the temperature that will make me most comfortable.
  3. Is talking about the excerpt forbidden? Because I think that guard lady who chased Lift (unsuccessfully, as it turned out,) deserves some attention. She may be a candidate for one of the unseen Orders.
  4. Really, there isn't much difference. Both are pessimistic, while also being useful, with great reactions to being insulted. I'm going to start reading Wyndle in C3PO's voice now,
  5. In the kingdoms we've seen, there seems to be one quality that the society honors. In Alethkar, it's the soldier or warrior. However, in the Horneater Peaks, the warrior is given fourth priority (I don't remember the first son's job.) In Shinovar, picking up a weapon essentially makes you a slave, similar to Szeth, while being a farmer is the honored occupation. I don't know what this means, but it reminds me too much of how the Alethi highprinces, before the breaking of Alethkar, had different roles, like the Highprince of War, Investigation, Commerce, etc. Anyone have added information, or a reason for why I'm seeing this connection.
  6. He probably won't ever discover captivityspren with that mindset, which Kaladin probably found after the Mismatched Duel debacle. But let's not get into that right now. The Aimians remind me very much of kandra. Able to alter their bodies, immortal, etc. Aimians do seem more stable than kandra, less fluid, if you will. I'm not sure what that indicates. Also, I wonder if Aimians can interact with spren like Lift does.
  7. Going back to Helaren, Shallan would probably think that she should not forgive Kaladin, so perhaps her final truth is, "I forgive Kaladin"
  8. While the Radiantspren mimicked the Surges granted by corresponding Honorblades, other spren, (maybe awespren, rainspren, etc.), if bonded, could potentially grant other combinations of Surges. To be honest, though, I don't know how someone would bond a rainspren.
  9. STLFRRN Translation: Steel Ferring Just something to help cars go faster. And slower.
  10. You should go to an Apple Store and touch everything.
  11. Sanderson has said that anyone can take up a Shard. However, it was necessary for Kelsier and the Ire to have the Connection device (the "thingy" in the title) in order to take up Preservation. So, the question is: why? I think it may have had something to do with the fact that Kelsier had no physical Aspect.
  12. My general thought process is to be afraid for a few minutes, then just say, "Storm it. I'm just going to do it." Bravery isn't not being afraid, it's being terrified, and ignoring it.
  13. I recently moved to an 11-acre piece of property in Idaho and have two cows, a mother and her daughter. I'm not thrilled about the move, but I'm doing okay.
  14. I'm on an iPad and using chrome, and the image is not there. It's just a little box with a question mark in it.
  15. So, not spikes. Maybe the same sort of idea, though.
  16. I'm not sure if it's unique to Ruin, but Sanderson has said it isn't Odium's style.
  17. Later, Szeth Invests with Stormlight while trying to be stealthy, and notes that Stormlight, these powers, we're not meant to be hidden.Perhaps the Parshendi remembered the Radiants, glowing warriors who fought with honor, not assassinating in the dark, but fighting in the battlefield.
  18. Windrunner. Those Surges seem much simpler to use. Would you rather be of the 8th Heightening or be a Lerasium Mistborn?
  19. I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say...dents me...and shatters you.
  20. Mizzy should be a technopath. Just a super powered extension of her natural abilities.
  21. Sanderson is LDS, and certain elements—likely not accidental—tend to make their way into his books. There's Adonai being the Hebrew word for God, and Shinar being a kingdom in biblical times. In Genesis, there's the story of Eve taking the fruit and causing the Fall. The LDS church teaches that Eve taking the fruit was, in fact, good to do. Forbidden, yes, but necessary. Perhaps Adonalsium had the Shattering happen for some reason. Perhaps it was to give ordinary people the ability to become gods.
  22. But now, being the most powerful living being in the Cosmere, he probably won't be as much of an influence as he was.
  23. I looked up the first question, the one to which Brandon refers to. So, it stands to reason that, however Elantris and the Dawncities were created, they are somehow connected, likely having to do with some cognitive aspect or another.
  24. Elantris was likely constructed by Shardic means, and the Dawncities in a similar fashion. After we learn more about the Dawnshards, we will have more information.
