If I remember correctly it was not intentional but I think Peter rationalized it as them possibly being run by two branches of the same family.

You aren't the first person to think that but unfortunately we can definitively say that Aarik is not Hoid. There is WoB that Hoid is only tangentially referenced within the prose draft of White Sand, and Aarik is a significant character.

There will be a Book 6. Alcatraz Bastille versus the Evil Librarians: The WorldSpire. BTW there is already a thread discussing this here. And I'm moving this thread to the spoiler forum because Holy Spoilers Batman.

Yes, please. -
Ogden signing and young writers conference.

Yep, there is. -
I generally have no problem staying logged in on both my laptop and my phone. Sometimes when I try on my tablet it doesn't have me logged in and if I do log in I get logged out on the other two. Not really an issue for me as all three have my username and password remembered so it's easy enough to log in.

The conversion is just 1.1 as far as we know, I'm pretty sure Brandon has said that their hours aren't the same length as ours either.

Oh, sorry I meant to respond to this earlier. The reason there isn't currently a page for the Thaylen script is part I just haven't gotten around to it yet and part not having a good way of presenting the information yet. Go ahead and make a page for it if you feel so inclined, it's probably best for that information to be on the wiki in some form or another.

What's the difference between seasons?
WeiryWriter replied to Quiver's topic in Writing Excuses and Intentionally Blank
If I remember correctly the first six seasons or so they were fairly random in length and had no set theme. Starting with season 7 (I think) they made it so the seasons matched up with the calendar (so they start in January, end in February, and are about 52 episodes long). In 2015, i.e. Season 10 they started doing yearly themes. Season 10 was a masterclass in writing a novel where each month focused on a different aspect (such as beginnings, outlining, et cetera). Season 11 (the current season) is focused on something called "Elemental Genres" (which I can't really explain as I'm super behind on WE and haven't even started the current season... It's quite sad). I know when he was on tour last year Brandon was telling people to skip the old episodes (for the time being at least) and start with the beginning of Season 10 (as they really do improve as they go along, especially once Mary joins them). I don't know if Season 11 is also a good starting point. -
Unfortunately, I really don't think there is anything here. Shai's time limit wasn't 90 days , it is a 100 day mourning period not a three month day (though technically she only had 98 because of when they "recruited" her). Also the note from Wyrn that describes the deadline gives it as "three months" and not 90 days. (Perhaps it is spelled out as such else where in the book, if it is please share but I didn't want to search through the book for every mention of "days" to find it.) There a few issues I see with assuming three months equals 90 days. First, it assumes that Arelish months are about the same length as ours, which isn't a given (Rosharan months, for example are 50 days--granted there could be a discussion in the book about the length of their months, but I don't remember any). Also, three months doesn't even necessarily mean 90 days on Earth either. The only circumstances where it does (that I can think of) are December/January/February and January/February/March (and February/March/April on Leap Years).

Yep it's been discussed before.

It's also been posted on Brandon's website.

Technically it isn't as clear cut as that. Yes if Sazed were to die, he would drop a single "Harmony" but he still has to contend with two diametrically opposed Intents which would indicate that Ruin and Preservation are still distinct from each other, to a certain extent at least.

The End [DT Spoilers]
WeiryWriter replied to HoidvsVoid's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
It may not actually exist. Whether or not it actually does doesn't matter as much as the fact that the Librarians say it exists. -
The End [DT Spoilers]
WeiryWriter replied to HoidvsVoid's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
Well it is important to remember that Bastille (and by extension "Dif") aren't named after prisons, they are named after people whose names the Librarians took and used as prison names. So the fact that France doesn't actually exist doesn't really matter. -
It's a newsletter exclusive, it isn't posted anywhere.

We haven't got a new Lift chapter from Book 3 but we did get a preview of Edgedancer (the Lift novella in Arcanum Unbounded) in the June newsletter.

Mistborn: The Final Empire - He shows up as an informant that Kelsier speaks to, he tells Kelsier about the "connection" between Houses Renoux and Venture. He is named as Hoid. Mistborn: The Well of Ascension - He is the leader of the Terris refugees that Elend meets up with near the end. He is unnamed. Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - He is an informant that Vin is supposed to meet with in Fadrex City but she gets a "bad vibe" (which gets explained in Secret History) and decides not to. He is named as Hoid. Hoid's Coppermind page also lists all of his appearances.

Technically it is not a teaser for SA3, when last asked about it Brandon said that he needed to write out Jasnah's adventures in Shadesmar (which is roughly novella-length) to work things out for her character going forward but he has no plans on releasing that anytime soon, if ever, for a variety of reasons (which he did not share). So yes it should probably be in spoiler tags, but not for the reason you say. (It's also not a "deleted scene" since it was written after WoR was released.)

Dark Talent Typos Thread [DT Spoilers]
WeiryWriter replied to ccstat's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
I'm assuming this is not a mistake since it's a footnote on the word foot saying note. Not a mistake, Isaac's name usually has some weird formatting in the Acknowledgments. -
The End [DT Spoilers]
WeiryWriter replied to HoidvsVoid's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
So I stayed up later than I should have last night, but I finished the book and Satirizing Sandersons did I enjoy it. The puns were puntastic, I did catch the otter and thesaurus ones. The Twilight one I also sort of caught, I knew it had to be a Twilight but I couldn't remember her name (so I was like "I'm pretty sure it starts with M?"). I did get a weird vibe from "Dif" but I totally didn't see him being Biblioden coming. I also didn't catch Attica disguising himself as a Curator (and to be honest I was momentarily confused as for some reason when Alcatraz started explaining I thought he was implying that Attica was always a Curator and was just pretending to have returned to being human, which obviously isn't the case). Also I don't know if anyone else noticed, but if you go back to the illustration of Shasta reading the fantasy novel in prison with the wall blown open beside her and look closely at the book it's actually the first Mistborn book! As for the end, it was definitely unexpected but I wasn't entirely surprised. By the time I started I had seen Brandon and Peter asking people if they had read to the very end and referring to a secret ending, and when I got my copy I did find the folded over page (though I resisted the urge to open it and read it, thankfully). So going through I was definitely wondering what was going to be in that little flap and I'm happy to admit more books was my main theory (I just thought they were going to be more books in the world and not a direct continuation like this). By the time I got to the part where they were on there way to the Forgotten Language room I was definitely thinking "there really isn't that much more book how are they going to do everything they need to do? Alcatraz foreshadowed the Worldspire when are we going there?" but I still didn't think there was going to be another book in this series. When Leavenworth "died" I kept waiting for his Talent to engage (because it had to, he couldn't /really/ be dead... right?) and when we got to the first ending I was definitely in shock. And then I very quickly turned to the secret ending and was inordinately pleased. I saw that it was written by Bastille when I first opened that page but didn't catch that her last name was Smedry until I had was in the process of setting the book aside and was like "Wait a minute!". And thinking back I'm highly amused about how Brandon always said book five would be the last the Alcatraz would write, which is true but it's an Aes Sedai statement if there ever was one. I am curious though how many people actually knew there were going to be more books. Like @PeterAhlstrom did Brandon tell you ahead of time or where you blindsided by it when you first read the draft? If I'm being frank though, this sort of stunt is something that I would be inordinately annoyed about in practically any other circumstance. But it is so totally in character with Alcatraz and the metatextual nature of the series that it just works. -
Yes, that is the best place to put it so that indexers can find it. Not everyone reads every thread and that way everything from an event is together.
