  1. I wrote along post but when I tried to post it...it vanished Anyway: @thekingofpillowland Elantrian off world could not use their powers, there are no Dor to tap there, the change Form set may work in another Selish's country (because there is Dor) but not on another planet (where there is no Dor)..Notice that if an Elantrian goes to the Rose Empire and re-learn to use AonDor with their Forms, it will still lose power as he go far drom the Empire. As far as we know, this "traduction" is the purpose of the moon's scepter but we don't know how actually work yet. @jofwu Connection is a relevant part to access to a magic system (or mostly of them) but this don't give you a free card for everything. With the right use of Connection you may become a magic user of the X system. But this don't give you some "screw the rules" power. So for hypotesis (because we don't know if this is possible, as Hoid showed us) you could use Connections to Arelon and you become an Elantrian (congrats!) you still need to be where the Dor is to fuel your AonDor and Elantrian Status. The Dor is in the Cognitive Realm and there the space matter, you could tap a power's source if where you are there is not. As I explained to the kthekingofpillowland, toying with Connection and Forms a Selish's magic user could tap Dor from another Selish country. But this may be performed because in that country'CR , there is The Dor too. In SH we have no istance of explicit use of Selish's magic, all we see there may be the result of a third world's magic. I tried to avoid Spoiler tag, but I need it now. Mistborn SH Spoiler:
  2. Maybe the previous WoB was a tricky answer like "the Shardblade may cut Alluminium like a normal blade", therefore a Shardblade could cut alluminium. Of course this destroy my Alluminium theory...but I can't go aganist the Truth
  3. Really ? So do we know who the Prologue's PoV is ?
  4. It isn't deeply explained in the books because nobody in the books knows the detail of the Compound...Compounder are quite rare and until we have some Southern scientist's POV (or in a few years also the Northern one) we can't have an explicit in-world explaination
  5. Ym was confirmed to be a Truthwatcher...so probably he fitted both of the orders but the Ring choose to send Wylde to Lift instead of the one he wanted (because Lift recive the Mother's blessing) and Ym were reclamed by a truthwatcher's spren...until he died
  6. As other said Vasher didn't convert Stormlight into Breath (if he converts Stormlight->Breath the whole "He has not figure out how to awaken with Stormlight" would becoma a no sense), much more turning Stormlight into Breath would mean overwrite Investiture's Intent (whatever Stormlight's source is) that as far as we know is impossible or difficoult as hell. He simply needs Investiture to sustain himself. If for example he was an Allomancer too He would be probably capable of stay alive burning metal and use the Preservation's Power to sustain himself. He could also remain alive pulling himself in a perpendicularity (but He can't take a perpendicularity with himself when He moves) or stay under the sun on Taldain (if the Taldain's light is actually Invested).
  7. Nightblood would try to eat the Mist, but the Mist will stay away from it (WoB) for the Stormlight I actually don't know..There is surelly a treeshold to the amount of Investiture Nightblood may consume. Much more we don't even know if Nightbood keeps this Investiture or expend it (and therefore this return to the source)
  8. It's still almost always lethal. I can't actually say someone Spiking himself and losing some of his soul (in the best outcome) for the chance to gift this power to someone else in the far future...notice also that this kind of "premature spiking" exposes you to all the Hemalurgy's problems (magical and social) without any benefit.
  9. Actually Connections are made of Investiture, but you have right...It's not a meaningful amount of it. Every being crafts new connections in his life. To be honest I think Kaladin without stormlight in him is more invested than TLR without burning metal or tapping metalmind (yes this would kill him...but it's an example) this would change when TLR starts to use his powers. A Radiant Knight is actually High Invested, because He has a Splinter worth of Investiture fused with his Soul (a situation a bit similar to people with Breath). An Allomancer has just a soul deformed by Investiture. Probably a Koloss/Kandra is still more Invested than an Allomancer (without metals) thanks to the bit of extra Soul alone. I think the Bond to a Living Spren is broken too. You may notice some difference between the F-Gold and Stormlight's Healing. In the first case a Ferring could heal almost every kind of damage (also tap his metalmind after death to restore himself...with enough charge) while a Radiant may be killed with a Head crushing blow. I think this happen because both of them "die" with certain kind of damage, but the Radiant at the moment of death, lose his bond and for extention his Surgebinding...Therefore he cannot use the Stormlight to heal the damage, while a Ferring has not this kind of problem. PS: Notice that if I have right, a Radiant who recive a fatal wound but He is restored by some other kind of Healing (Regrowth,ecc..) may need to re-bond his Spren. In a Desolation a fallen Radiant also if recovered, would be quite useless for the actual battle.
  10. When Ruin will be free, He would probably chase the Scadrial popolation...After all they have some of his power in their soul and without that power He would be uncapable of challenging other Shards. Much more, TLR far from scadrial would be unable to obtain Atium to stay alive
  11. You may be right about the Set's knowledge...Just a point, to craft a Medallion you don't need a Nicrosil compounder... a simple Soulbearer is enough. Yes I am another one who think that Fireparents are Brass Compounder and they offer their service to the whole comunity. Again I don't honest understand the reason You will need a Nicrosil Compounder (sure it may be nice to have, but you don't need him). You indeed need different people: - A "simple" Brass Compounder to generate the quite infinite amount of Heat and store it away in Brassminds. - Then another guy with F-Brass and F-Alluminium to remove Identity from the Brassminds (He would act as a filter tapping from the keyed metalminds and storing the heat again in another metal, while he store away his Identity)....Of course this guy may be a trueself equipped with a F-Brass Medallion. With this specific Metalborn you may generate infinite unkeyed brassminds. Of course I considerated only how to generate the charge, not the actual Medallion...To them there is need of at least three powers (maybe more) F-Alluminium, F-Nicrosil and F-Brass
  12. A Trellium's Spike works not far from an Atium Spike (but without the "better efficiency" of H-Atium) with the ability to steal multiple attributes...but always one for Spike. Bleeder didn't performe nothing special, She had multiple Trellium Spikes with a single Power in each of them, and she switched them when she want to use the right power. She had not a Spike with multiple powers. The only weirdness a Trellium Spike showed, it is the ability to hide from Harmony. But we can't say if this is an actual Trellium ability or if it simply a side effect of use a Godmetal Spike (as far as we know you may get the same effect with a Lerasium Spike...when Ruin and Preservation weren't hold by the same guy). Four Spikes are needed to control an Human or an Human based being (koloss and Inquisitor) until the Set didn't reach this point their are safe from this problem. If they uses Trellium spike, they may also be hidden from the Hemalurgy-Sense of Sazed. Like Pagerunner said the "weak" part, may be a reference to the ability to use others Feruchemical charge...But I thought they get the Unkeyed Goldmind from the southern, not a production of the Set, also if with a single F-Alluminium Spike they may start a Northern Production of Unkeyed Metalminds EDIT: I forgot a part, some speculate that the Chimeras were so twisted because the Spikes are filled with not human attributes
  13. This is an easy one, Kelsier there is a Cognitive Shadow not a fully physiscal being. this is the reason he may walk over the "cognitive sea" without fall below, they are made of the same substance. You may notice how all the living beings we saw in Secret History don't stay on the "Cognitive sea" without trouble. Khriss and Nazh are camped on the "solid part" (a lake in the phisical) and they probably move follow the rivers/sea/lake and other water path. Hoid on another side, need to ride a Cognitive Shadow to use it as a boat when He tried to go near the Well (no water path to go there) because he can't walk on the "cognitive sea" otherwise. On the different looks of the CR, every Shardworld seems to have a peculiar look, based on a specific theme. But they are functionally the same thing
  14. Well Marsh is quite young for the immortal standard, I don't think he need really too much atium yet and He may always ask Harmony for a new stock of Atium or to give him a Mistborn status (or gain a Medallion to use Cadmius to stay alive longer.
  15. @Oversleep you called and here I am: Actually I received a WoB about in the Oathbringer Update 5 . Therefore a Misting stops to feel a metal as burnable before the alloy become too bad and dangerous (for a Mistborn). In the context of this topic, I think Wax will be unable to burn an alloy in the middle between Allomantic Iron and Steel (but here I may be wrong because the allomantic steel is quite near to the pure iron in composition). I don't know how would the allomancy reacts to an Ironmind forged into allomantic compatible Steel, probably nothing will happen because while the metal's structure is wrong you will be no able to access it) EDIT: Maybe I was too optimistic about the likehood between Iron and Steel, if the two metals' structures were so similar a Iron Misting would be able to burn (with quite nothing effect) allomantic avaliable Steel and a Coinshoot will be able to burn (with little or no effect) Allomantic Avaliable Iron....Much more a Mistborn will be probably be capable of burning all the range of Iron-Steel alloys to fuel his allomancy without too problems. Unluckily I have no Metallurgic knowledge to say if a 1% is a lot or not
  16. For example:
  17. Yes a Splintering isn't the default outcome of a Vessel's death (unless you actually Splinter the Shard once it has no more a Vessel). But it may also happen naturally, as far as we know (there is a WoB somewhere) a Shard without a Vessel for too long may experience once of these scenarios (luckily in the books when a Shard is dropped, there was always someone who readily pick up it): 1) auto-splintering 2) develops a rudimental sentence 3) seeks a new Vessel Actually, it's possible that the point 2 and 3 may be a sequence, the power want to be used and an auto-generate mind works worse than a true living's mind. So the Shard develops a Mind and starts to search a good Vessel. Notice also that also between the Gods (Shards), how to Splinter another Shard isn't an automatic knowledge. Ruin for example didn't know how to properly do it (and this is ironic...because Ruin is about "turn things apart")
  18. yeah, I think it the same reason a Vessel's corpse doesn't turn into dust. Their Souls know they were no more Humans. I wrote a theory about this kind of Immortality in the context of Hoid, Returned and Inquisitor
  19. Yata

    VenDell in BoM

We don't know when Scadrial was made, Ruin and Preservation could do something in their early thousands of years before crafting this world....For example, be invested in another Shardworld (Vax to say one) and then moved to build their little personal world
  20. @Spoolofwhool I am not sure about your point on Forgery and Cognitive. To me it seems that a Forgery bypasses the Cognitive and try to force the change directly on the Soul, it's the Soul itself who fight against the change (like we see with other kinds of Spiritual change as F-Atium) and if the Dor isn't enough to sustain the Forgery the Forgery fade. To me, this is the actual difference between Forgery and Soulcasting. The first affects mainly the Soul and extends its effect upon the Cognitive, the second works mainly on the Cognitive and extends its effect upon the Soul (forging a new connection to the new material...but it's a minor Soul's editing). Of course, in the end, both of they affect the physical. But a Soulcasted's Soul "knows" its previous history, it knows before he was a stick and now is fire (of course is another stick, not the Stick)
  21. @The One Who Connects I know the MAG is canon until the books say otherwise but for example:
  22. But the MAG isn't canon right ? For example I remember Marsh said to Vin in TFE He had 11 Spikes...There are also some weird contraddiction between Hemalurgy in books and MAG, I tried to recive a precise explaination from Peter but I didn't recive nothing more than a vague one PS: I have a theory on Khriss who made errors in HoA's Ars Arcanum trying to fit the power stolen with the knowed metals...But I have no proofs
  23. @CayJoBla you are mixing things together: 1) Of course I meant "If there is a Hemalurgic metal that may steal Connection the Atium would be capable too" (also if there are attributes that only the Atium may steal...For example the A-Atium or F-Atium themself). I honestly think "Connection" is one of the missing Human Attributes, for a couple of reasons: - there are often likehood between Feruchemy and Hemalurgic Human Attributes and Connection is one of the Feruchemical Attributes. - This is a meta-story reason, we know that a Cognitive Shadow needs a new connection to the physical realm to return in flesh, and we know of one being of that kind who exploited Hemalurgy to gain it. 2) I don't propose blank Atium spike give you an ability, but just that blank Atium still carry the Hemalurgic Fault also without be with Hemalurgic charge (something like, Ruin may influence you and with enough Spikes control you)....Of course the core concept of this idea of mine came by a WoB but recently it was clarificated (thanks to @Kingsdaughter613 for the information). 3) We know (not theory or speculation) burning Atium give you an help to find the bindpoint (there is a WoB but I have an hard time to find it) but this happen with everything that allow you to glimpse in the Spiritual Realm not only Atium 4)About the Kandra and Spike, you are misunderstood the point: A Single Spike is enough to give whatever it keeps. Therefore A Single A-Steel Spike give you the Coinshoot's ability and a single Iron Spike give to the reciver the double of an Human Strenght. A Kandra needs two Spikes (commonly called a Blessing) because they are not Human beings and gain Humanity and Sentience through the extra Soul in the Blessing....In theory as far as we know, you may give to a Kandra a Blessing made by two different metals. A Kandra may in theory mantain himself Sapient with a Single Spike (half Blessings ?) but He would suffer a lot and his psyche will have hard time to remain whole...We see this in three istancesof this: one in SoS with Bleeder and two in BoM with Tensoon who give one of his Spikes to another Kandra who lost one of his own (without a great result).
  24. Actually whatever Spike may stole "Connection" may stole any kind of Connections. Notice also that for definition an Atium Spike may stole everything and therefore Connection to Preservation. Returning to the Set and Trellium Spike, I think they would choose to have Trellium Spike to hide from Harmony. But other than that, we know that Trellium may steal at least one kind of Human (or animal) Attribute as show with the Chimeras.
  25. I think it was a WoB somewhere or maybe Warbreaker's annotations....Honestly I can't remember
