  1. The problem lies here I suppose. Hemalurgy, Awakening and Feruchemy (you forgot it, but it's not an issue) have ways to trasfer Innate Investiture( By the way if you count Voidbringing into "inject Innate Investiture" you have to count Surgebinding in it too as the RadiantSpren merge with the Knights' souls) but this will not be enough to control someone. You took the specific Hemalurgy's istance and you apply its rules to every kind of Innate Investiture manipulation. The Vodiumspren carries some kind of Odium's backdoor but this would not be a "power" rather it's just a passive and pervasive effect carried by Splinters....The Radiantspren have to carry the same backdoor from H&C (and as we are now in SA's forum I will stop here with the examples) but I don't think it will be enough to proper control someone. The Listeners are a bit a special case as they are "unwhole" at all without a Form, their Spren's bond change them deeply in body, mind and (if the change in the Rhytms means something) Soul (I have a good analogue for them but it's from a Mistborn's book, I will not write it here but I imagine you could figure it). Lastly we had three Shards on Roshar, so IF for hypotesis the Shards could control Radiants: - Odium is able to infect a Radiant Spren (by the way I see it as possible but hard to hide from others' Spren) - Odium have to put enough Investiture into the Spren to meaningfully affect it (for meaningfully I meant enough to be on pair with H&C's influences) - Odium have to overcome the H&C's effort to stop him and take control of a Radiant. - All of this without the Radiants' know it for a lot of Desolations. yeah I know you didn't. But the problem remains, unless ALL the Spren, Heralds and Honor are simply lying someone will point it out this already. In Dalinar's visions Honor didn't mention anything wrong with the KR (by the way, if the Spren will be able to control the Radiant....I don't think they will allow to be killed by the Radiant that day) and neither the Stormfather or Syl feel something of Odium from the Shards (by the way this last point is really valueless as Syl maybe wasn't never near an Infected Blade). By the way in your model, what do you think the 10 Voidbinding levels are ? PS: I was sleeping just some minutes ago, some of my writing could be confused (puns intended XD), I am willing to clarify everything I wrote in a messy way
  2. Once I considerated the Rhytms as passive emanations of The Shards (inherited by Adonalsium) but It's a lame and lazy explaination.
  3. The Honorblades are tools to mechanically access Surgebinding. The ancient fabrials (Soulcasters or the Regrowth Fabrial we saw) are tools to mechanically accesa Surgebinding. You could easily see the link between the two. Probably the Honorblades are Simply "Shardblade-class Fabrial" (as we saw It's possible to craft "Shardblade-class" stuff with the right skills and resources)
  4. Yeah the writing's format seems only to point to the Vorin's culture but this gave us no clue about the writer's gender. By the way I think that also if the author is a Vorin (not Ardente) Male. This would be not enough to make him an heretic. So the Heretic part have to come from something the Author did before.
  5. The fact is Elend in the city was useless and they only (also if fake) hope was to find the Well in Terris. Elend in the city will be quite useless, sure he developed some fighting skill but It's Almost on pair with every other soldier. He was not a Mistborn when he leaved and his addiction to the fight would be meaningless. Notice also Elend wanted to remain in the city as you suggest but he was tricked into leaving It.
  6. I am unsure if my words was misunderstood. Didn't mean Adolin can't revive his Blade because it's not Edgedancer-compatible, I meant that regardless all his effort Adolin could be not enough Edgedancer-like for the task. Radiant----hood? (we could call it like that I suppose) is not a binary option, someone could have enough "attitude" to attract a Spren but not enough to go too further in the Oaths' progression. Has Adolin the right pedigree for an Edgedancer ? Maybe yes (also if I am still confused about Edgledancers' mantra because I see it blurs with Truthwatchers) but has He "enough" of it for the task ? I don't know...Reviving a Blade is magnitude harder than attracting a Cultivationspren and bond with it. Personally I will be fine with all three outcome about Adolin's future. Maybe he will not become a Radiant maybe he will, if he will this could be because he revived his Blade or maybe because he attracted a whole new Spren....As far as we know Adolin could be an ok Edgedancer but an Amazing *INSERT UNKNOWN ORDER HERE* (like Ym's case where he was fit for two Orders)
  7. Maybe Adolin will be not able at all to revive his Blade. I don't mean he has no the requirement to be a good Radiant, but if he is not fit to become an Edgedancer...He can't fix an Edgedancer's Blade. (In this topic I didn't considerate the whole "broken" requirement at all)
  8. Like Calderis said. We know little for the time before the Shattering, but we know there were already magic in those far times. We don't know if at that time the magic works differently or if Adonalsium was simply like a SuperShard. We know there are places with no Shard with magic effects in there, this tell us that Shards are not required for the magic. But Shards carries with themself tons of Investiture and if they remain in a place too long this investiture began to permeate where they are (I think you could imagine like osmosis with a Shard as an hyper concetrate amount of Investiture and the sorround with relative no Investiture). A Shard could actual Invest his Investiture in a place but with or without his will...over time the Investiture will began to Invest the planet. At this point you will began to have a system more and more super saturated of Investiture and it will over time manifest has magic systems. If the main theory is correct and the planet itself dictate to a degree the magic, this new formed magic systems will be on the same theme of the previous pre-shards one. But notice the Shard does not design the magic systems, they are simply a manifestation of the Investiture on a planet....The Shard could influence them a bit if they will but the rules are mainly indipendent by their will PS: I tried to leave this comment spoiler free for things beyond Stormlight Archive, if you want to discuss this more openly. I suggest you to open the topic in Cosmere Theories

    Wayne

There is no Mistery in this. Wayne has some serious mental trauma and I think the his powers don't help him to be a bit alienate as human (the fear is a great teacher). Anyway the fact (to me) is Wayne is not strange or something like that for what he says or does. He simply has an huge abstraction capacity and the social stereotypes simply doesn't affect him. To me this is also the reason he find so easy to imitate someone else, he is very analytical in what he sees
  10. Yes or still better try to put them into other Forms to lesser or avoid the risk of VoidForms in the future. The survivor Listeners could help with this but the problem is gather Slaveform Listeners from everywhere
  11. Hardly to say as with Honor's death probably the Radiants are already stronger than Heralds (because they lost unlimited Investiture) but they will be no match for the previous Desolations' Heralds
  12. I don't believe they were Hemalurgic goldspikes as Harmony didn't say nothing in the topic and Miles didn't expose anything weird neither in his actions or thoughts
  13. There are only theory for now about "Feruchemical Strenght", some of the candidatura are: - you could compress more charge in a Metalmind (hardly to believe for Realmatic Reasons) - at highter multiplier your Feruchemy is more efficient and you lose less charge in the conversion. - the threeshold of storage change (Almost impossible to notice as the pratical limits of many metal is far before the magical limit). - a lose of attributes while your are storing for weak feruchemists (you store 10 units of charge but only 8 arrive in the Metalmind and 2 are Lost) We know the Feruchemy could have tiers but as far as we know this happens only with artificial granted Feruchemy. All' the natural Feruchemists seems to be top class and only with Hemalurgy and decay you Will get lesser tier Feruchemy
  14. I believe the Heralds' extra powers are Simply the inherit abilities their Status as Cognitive Shadows gave them. We saw another case of this: a Cognitive Shadow with a physical body showing Supernatural Speed beyond the scope of his local magic. Indeed as the Cognitive Shadows are mainly spren-like beings. It's also quite easy to think their senses act differents and they are able to intuitively feel Investiture like a Spren does
  15. I Will not Talk about the wider Realmatic side of the question as Hemalurgy has already an huge topic similar on it. (I am quite sure you Will already know I disagree with your point ) I Will Simply considerate this thing from the Logic point. There are many beings Who were alive then and are still living now (The Heralds, many Spren) and there are culture that keeps Memories of the old events.(Listeners) I strongly believe that someone of them Will say something on the matter. Nale himself started to Hunt surgebinder only After an Ishar's bad advice not for some personal knowledge and he didn't even try to harm or capture Radiantspren. The Cognitive beings are also able to feel the Investiture's source and no Spren (Sul for example) feel nothing strange in the Stormfather's signature. Unless you are proposing that every Spren is a double Agent and lie all' the time, your hipotesis is Simply freaking weird.
  16. Like other before me said, the Honorblades were capable of accessing Honor's Power directly. This gave the holders an Unlimited amount of Kinetic Investiture to tap from (probably limited in the amount/second). The Honorblades are used not like they were meant as After Honor's Death they are no more able to operate freely
  17. Yeah, more raw Kinetic Investiture rather than an actual effect...Sure there are tons of Application with a metal that letterally release Investiture but I don't think you could use to alter Spirit-Webs in an useful way
  18. I agree with almost everything Calderis said. I think there is just an exception with high unstable Godmetals like Harmonium that tends to release power while it consumes itself with a minimal input
  19. The Honorblade have to be at Urithuru not with Kal as in WoB. Brandon stated that "trying to operate the Oathgate with the Honorblade will be one of the first tests they will try" and as Kaladin is far from Urithuru I will remove him from the candidate. So Rather than leave an Honorblade aroung is better to make it bond to someone and use secretly this as safeguard. For now I believe strongly this is Dalinar but he could gave the Honorblade to someone else in the future.
  20. Ok I didn't read anything in Silence Divine except the Little quote of hours and from It they have Gravity and the hourglass would regulary work. Without an gravitstional acceleration there is no way an object would Smash with the kinetic Energy of a casual contact. Of course this could be both mondane or magical in nature but we could exclude the centrifugal Force unless they are spinning very very very fast or the Planet is really smaller as there is no mention to the city to be out of the atmosphere. Here I am making some speculations that could be wrong as se don't know the planet's parameter but I find this the most likely explaination PS: by the way I didn't know there were Silence Divine's extracts
  21. Shallan's problem is mainly due a trauma and the fact One of her Surge is Dangerous to test with. Kal has the chance to test more freely in a controlled setting with people Who try to help him. Shallan had no all' of this. Now I think Shallan would fastly recover as She could ask the Soulcasters to help her. They use a mechanical way to access the Surge but regardless they are more skilled than her (much more the One who developed Savantism)
  22. The Shards association with a specific Number is only a theory and not the only one on the "Numbers". Another (that I found more fitting with the Cosmere we know) is about Shardworlds Association with a specific Number In this context Roshar's Number is 10 and Breize's Number is 9 (Ashlyn is 10 too). Anyway as the Listeners predated the Shattering. No Shard could be their Creator but they are designed as the rest of Roshar by Adonalsium
  23. "I am scaried" is the First Truth She Spoke when She Soulcast the First time in the current times
  24. The hourglass would be ok in a Planet without rotation. The only Force Needed to a hourglass to work is gravity
  25. I see no reason for her to not be able to fill gems. His Surges allow her ti emit Investiture (something I am unsure all' the order could do to be honest). About Feed her with soulcasted food...I think It Will work really poorly. Soulcasting consume a lot of Investiture and Lift didn't seem to produce a lot of stormlight
