I believe not. Hemalurgy work innesting/ripping pieces of Spiritweb. A lifeless would not have a fully functional Soul so I believe you could not make him an Hemalurgy's recipent generally. If you craft a Lifeless Soon After Death and he retains more of his Soul... It's more likely to work, but not in a general case

As Dunkum said Cosmere's magic in generale is not location dependant. But some magics could have requirements hard or impossible to fuitful in other location. You could hack some magic to be fueled by other form of Kinetic Investiture but depending by the magic this could be in a spectrum of hardships. Examples: - the Metallic Arts could be used everywhere, you Need only a supply of right metals (all' the Cosmere's pure iron is fine for a Lurcher) - you could awake everywhere in the Cosmere if you have Breath with you. - you could in theory awake with different form of Kinetic Investiture but for example also a top tier Awakener didn't figured yet how to awake with Stormlight. - you could Surgebinding with Breath but you Will Need a turnaround to make It work - you could Mastery everywhere with White Sand but the Sand Will not passivelly recharge. You Will Need a source of Investiture to recharge It (example Stormlight). - you could not performe Selish magics offplanet as far as our knowledge goes. It's debated if you could fuel Selish Magic with other form of Investiture without Extreme workaround. Probably I missed some cases but honestly the combinations are really too much

CONFIRMATION - The Weapon that killed Adonalsium no longer exists
Yata replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This, the whole Preservation's Plan was based on Ruin's inability to overcome Preservation's successor (Vin). This is a bit unprecise but It's not really relevant for the topic. Anyway the 16 metals we see in Era2 are the rightful and original Metallic Arts' Metals and by the way there were pulsers, sliders, leechers and Nicrobursters in Era1 too...Simply without the knowledge of the metal and the chance of having some, they Will never discovered (like an Alluminium or Durallumin gnat). For Need, Preservation twisted the Snapping to allow peoples to snap as Seer or Malatium Misting and to keep the "sign of 16" he made the MistSnap not able to make Pulsers/Sliders but only Atium/Malatium Mistings. After his Ascension Sazed Simply removed the Preservation's twist and putted some of his own like the lower Snapping's threeshold. On the 16 metals as "correlation 1 to 1 for metal- shard", It's an already proposed theory (I believe @Stormgate made It) but I and others could not find ant kind of pattern in this. Ps: As the whole "Preservation burried the Weapon" is carried by tangential links and Speculation. Why did Ruin not use It to dispose of Leras First or Vin later? We know his dreamed endgame was terribly slowed down from Fuzz's effort (by the way I use to call Fuzz the Preservation's mental-unstable and Power limited form and "Preservation" his former good shape.- 65 replies

Yeah it could be almost everything, a regular polestone with a special treatment, something offworld, an 11 Polestones, ecc.... The problem with the idea of an 11th Polestone is the fact that It will be not different from the other 10, so it will hold Stormlight, the people will know it and other stuff like that... I can't for sake of completeness say "it's impossible" but it's extremely unlikely for a worldbuilding's context. The fact remains, the Roshar's people are not created by H&C, be a hypotetical "alterated people" is not needed to be elegible for a Nahel Bond (as foreign human could do without problem). I don't understand what it is the point with Ashlyn here. Again what it's the point with Ashlyn ? By the way, there is no "Shard's planet" there is only "that Shard invested in a specific planet" and in this regard Roshar is Cultivation's Planet in the same way it is Honor's planet...It's possible in the past Honor, Cultivation or both were on Ashlyn but this doesn't change anything Edit: because the autocorrector screwed and switched "Planet" with "Power"

Sorry side but what are you talking about? Is It this a headcanon of your? 1) the Gavilar's Sphere could be One of the usual Polestones Just with some peculiar features (maybe size, cutting or history) 2) the whole 10 gemstone of Cultivation making Human, where does It come from? H&C didn't create Humans in Roshar...there were already Humans in the Planet when they arrived. 3) Spren could bond with everyone Hey want (if broken)... No Shard messing required I have other points but I can't write now. i Will edit this or add a new reply as Soon as I could

I believe you already posted this theory once. But the reason I disagree with It are the same. Indeed we recived also some new WoB on the topic (the One Calderis posted on 10 be' centric in Great Roshar and 9 in Braize) that still lower the likelyness of the "Shards' Number". By the way, I believe you pushed too far the "Number search" as in many cases you Simply took Number linked to cultural stuff without any connection to the magic (for example the 8 ad Authonomy's One) some magic costants could have some cultural ramification but you could not take a Number because It's appear in the culture and turn It into an planetary constant

It's possible they have a Soulcaster or maybe they had another ancient Fabrial. I honestly believe they had a Progression Fabrial and they use it to accelerate the plan's grow. They will not have need of gemheart to this, also little gem could go fine, I assume

Actually the process to make a Medallion is a lot complex and we don't know yet how It is performed. By the way guys, you are making confusion in the terms. Unkeyed Metalmind= A Metalmind without Identity associated. It's allow to bypass the Investiture's interference and every Ferring of that metal could tap from that Metalmind regardless he is the creator or not. Unsealed Metalmind= A Metalmind Who Everybody could tap from regardless the Powers they could have or not. We know how to craft an Unkeyed Metalmind, It's enough for the Feruchemist to store all' his Identity before to fill the actual future Unkeyed Metalmind (Witch require to him the access to at least 2 Feruchemical Powers). We don't know how to craft an Unsealed Metalmind. We know manipulate Connections is required and (likely) you Need to performe all' the Step needed for an Unkeyed One. So you need at least three Feruchemical powers to craft a Medallion (+ the Power you want to store). In essense, a Medallion is Just a Unsealed Nicrosolmind. Usually It's packed together with some unkeyed Metalminds but those are not part of the Medallion's tech, they are there only to provide an attributes' storage for the Medallion's user.
-
I am not sure about the "not leaking" but regardless, I believe the attribute in Feruchemy to be coded into...."Feruchemical compatible charge" (without a better term) and the decoded upon tapping (we have a WoB that could confirm this (implicity) as the F-Niscosil could be used to hide from the Life Sense, if the Investiture remains the same, the Life Senser would still detect you as the Metalmind would "bip" his Lifesense. By the way Breath is a bit weird when it comes to categories, it's Kinetic Investiture that could act under some circumstances as Innate Investiture...Probably I need to think on this more to make a proper model
-
I could not provide It now as I am in a troublesome situation now. But you could try to find It searching for Connection or Durallumin (the Feruchemical metal that stores Connections)... The WoB said there is Need to workaround with Connections to make a Medallion and that Brandon would provide is a list of the needed steps as the procedure is too complex to explain preciselly without writing It down (of course this are not the exacts words but rather the general topic of the WoB) Maybe @Calderis could help us
-
The Ire's Orb is made with "Silverlight's stuff". I believe Silverlight has the tech/magic to manipulate Connections to a degree and the worldhoppers usually uses it to many purpose (for example the omni-language). The IRE just manage to use it to an extremely extent in the right moment.
-
If I understood right @Steeldancer believes that an unkeyed Nicrosilmind is by default Unsealed. IF this is his idea (and for a while I considerated the same thing, the las year). I have to say that I am now aganist this....Brandon said us that F-Nicrosil and F-Alluminium isn't enough to craft a Medallion while with Steeldancer's idea it will be possible.
-
It's the first. A new Blessing requires two murders and Harmony&Kandra are aganist this. Without fresh Blessings they are unable to create new Kandras.
-
@pharaoh9000 to quote myself from a previous post here: All those metals (Silver included) acts normally into Metallic Arts, they are pushable/pullable, ecc.... Only the Alluminium is inert to applied magic (can't be pushed/pulled, shileds from Emotional Allomancy, It doesn't generate temporal shadows and it stop a time bubble effect). Those weirdness with the Alluminium spreads also to almost every other Cosmere's magic.

By the way, yesterday I misunderstood you. I believed you talk of a limb spiritual and physical cutted from the owner (two Shardblade's cuts)...I don't believe this change the result but sadly no Adams' Hand
-
In this you have right, but this is mainly true for all the Cosmere's magic. By the way, Honorblades seem "only" Shardblade-class Fabrials, they are categorizated as "mechanical way to access surges" and in those kind of scenarios, I imagine your Mind has a major role as the Ability is not in your Soul

I don't remember it was never stated the Wax's Earring's Origin. The Pathism Earrings are usually made from old Inquisitors' spikes...Sure Wax's one could be different, but I don't believe it is stated somewhere. A couple of cm of Metal in the chest is more than enough to reach the heart is you push really hard....Much more to a target of an infant size, honestly I don't want to try to figure the murder's mechanics but I believe it's quite possible (unluckly)

Reen could be the one who tell her...By the way the Earring could have a ruined (pun intended) Silver plating at the Spiking time (the Bronze had to be exposed or it can't be used as spike) and then it kept to ruin (I am the worst, I know) in the latter years.

Except the Honorblade's surgebinding doesn't not work in that way. The Honorblade has no check or further development, you grab one and everything is done. By the way, the Surgebinding wasn't designed by Honor and as all the Cosmere's magic arose naturally from Shardic's Investiture and the planet. The KR seem to be a further development from the initial Surgebinding (that I assume was more "Honorblade like" ) to a codificated way to progress in it. I believe Ishar had a role in that maybe thanks to His knowledge of Realmatic he bound the Spren to some rules and the rules spread thanks to the perception. Honor offered to the Heralds tools to mechanically access the Surgebinding system but it's not "more true" than the Radiant's one....Both are derivated by the same "original system" but we don't see it yet (and probably we will not ever see it as the KR replaced it)

I believe the problem in Stormlight-Awakening is more pratical than skill-centric. The Breath is sticky and It would remains into the target to fuel the Awakening. Stormlight instead is extremely volatile and leaky. To me the problem is more into the "if I Awake with Stormlight, the Investiture doesn't hold and leak away from the target"
-
Indeed It's possible, I always believed Braize was Just behind One of the Nexus but I never linked It to a specific One. I am still quite confused in how the Heralds manage to cross the Realms in their selected locations (Honor's Perpendicularity maybe) but this is another topic
-
It's not explicit but this WoB says that in an implicit way.

There were only 16 spots, a tons of metal are not Allomantic Metals. Platinum isn't an Allomantic Metal, Titanium is not an Allomantic Metal, Mercury is not an Allomantic metal and I could continue for a while. You could not make the argument on "the other metals have powers, so the silver is a weird stuff". By the way, Silver is already part of the Metallic arts as it's a component to craft Electrum, in this regard it is no different from Magnesium (that is a Durallumin's component but has not a role as pure metal into Metallic Arts)

I am full honest here, for a second...just a second, I imagined the covering was mitigating the Decay, but it's a foolish idea. The amount of Hemalurgic charge in that earring is one of the things that bother me more of Mistborn Era1....It's simply too powerful for its history

To be honest I like it, but there is the huge problem of "if you could build Plates, why only the Radiants had them". You would expect some important figure in wartime to be equipped with a Plate for his own safety
