Sorry I misread what your doubt was. The only thing that comes to my mind is Gravity Surge redirects the planet's gravity pull (PGP). With less than a Lashing you redirect just a fraction of PGP and the result is the sum of remaining PGP and the Surge's Gravity pull (SGP). With a Lash or more you redirect (and boost) the whole PGP in your SGP.

Probably the Ars Arcanum's Author doesn't experience of first hand the Surge and he/she thinks the original Gravity's pull is severed and replaced. Instead in reality a Base Lashing adds another "fake gravity's pull".

I have no images to fit this thing therefore: Honor (restored), Cultivation and Odium appear before the Stick to welcome it before its journey in the Beyond (It is The Stick after all, a phanteon welcome it) H: Well my lord it's time to go The Mighty Stick: I am a Stick. C: A great journey await for your highness The Mighty Stick: I am a Stick. O: ... The Beyond is where the Sticks goes (nervous) and the Mighty Stick fades and reachs the Beyond (Leras would be proud of Rayse) , but after some second... Stick Beyond's Overlord: I AM A STICK!!! Honor, Cultivation and Odium de-Invest themself from Great Roshar System and run away from their lives.

Can someone in the Beyond affect the Physical Realm?
Yata replied to Stranker's topic in Cosmere Discussion
He or the Stick of course. Example: Honor (restored), Cultivation and Odium appear before the Stick to welcome it before its journey in the Beyond (It is The Stick after all) H: Well my lord it's time to go The Mighty Stick: I am a Stick C: A great journey await for your highnes The Mighty Stick: I am a Stick O: ... EDIT: This is pretty cool, i will copy-paste in Sanderson meme XD -
Can someone in the Beyond affect the Physical Realm?
Yata replied to Stranker's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The ansew is of course "We can't know it". But I will say not, for a couple of reasons (that may be meaningful or meaningless): - The Shards at least the one we saw, don't know what the Beyond is, this mean they haven't any kind of interaction with it, if someone may influence the Realms from the Beyond... Well a Shard gains some information about the Beyond. - The Deads' minds are pulled in the Beyond... It's a strong and overcoming pull. Once in the Beyond the pull is probably stronger and for someone there "send" something in the realms will be impossible. Of course this are only my ideas, I have not sure proofs, I have a couple of ideas about the Beyond and the God Beyond and I am uncapable of deciding what are more likely -
I don't think it's all for that reason. Reading a WoB seems to indicate that his Atiummind was part of him for so long. that in the end, when it lose them, He enter in some kind of Spiritual Shock... I don't think he was capable to access his abilities for a while. PS: There are another but unlikely possibility, it's possible that Ruin stole from him the F-Atium or/and A-Atium through the Atiummind with Hemalurgy in his last second of Fight.

you have right (if of course we are not wrong about the Lichen's recharge) but White Sand is quite common in Dayside. It's possible to began a web of Sand trasport in the Cosmere (but we have to see how much is hard worldhop from Taldain).
-
I have to say it. Last evening I read this post but I was tired and I decided to anser it this morning (Time zone problems ) but now I read another post on this forum who seems to agree with your views (and as side effect destroy my model of Taldain's Magic). Probably the Lichen would be uncapable of growing outside of Taldain. But you may take with you a lot of Sand to use it.
-
As others before me said, Darkside is a really UV rich place... It's the reason for a "normal temperature" there, olsewhere they will be quite always under frozen point.
-
ok first of all thanks for sharing this information. Now I began to think that my Taldain's Model woud fall but news knowledge is always appretiate
-
Shame on me, you may be right, also if I am unsure if the Stormlight required increase with mass or with volume. Luckly I have a plan for both of them: - Volume Scaling: My previous post is right - Mass Scaling: Reversing the trick, you have to store a lot of weigh you may exploit a extremely cheap Lashing to travel for a very long time (the stormlight usage will be really really low)

Oh Sorry man ... I didn't see that post of yours

Today I was re-reading Secret History and I noticed something I missed at my first reading: This part made me think in another way about Ire's glowing drink. Of course they are Elantrian and they need the Dor to keep their abilities. This is why at a first reading, the first think that came to my mind was about "they drink liquid Dor to sustain themself". But this sentence shows a strong likeleness from the Ire's Drink and the Connection's Orb. Or at least Kelsier saw a connection (i know bad joke) between the two liquid with only a difference about quality. He may not be an expert but in his Cognitive Shadow form, He shows some intuitive understanding of the Cosmere's Mechanics. Therefore I began to think: It's possible the Ire's drink isn't Dor or raw Investiture but instead it's "just" Connection to their homeland (Sel or more specific Elantris) and they use it to enhance their connection to the Dor and recive it so far in the Cosmere. Has this idea some merit or it's just a baseless speculation ?

ok now I understand what you meant. I don't think this may work because it will be as fuel (for example) Allomancy with Breath... Probably there is a way to use it, but it would need some kind of Hack from Kenton to made the whole process work... Maybe Khriss may help him to find a way.
-
I don't think... But we have to understand if the Lichen are itself coded with Autonomy's Investiture and the potential Sand Mastery from Human. Or the Humans are coded with Sand Mastery's Talent. In the first case the Lichen will not grow in an Highstorm, in the second case yes they would. I think may be some kind of Nalthis analogue:
-
ok this is quite meaningles but in my language "shalla" is a teen's word to say something like "ok relax man". Anyway if they didn't change the meaning from the prose version. It's not actually a curse but some rude way to call someone (or I remember wrong)
-
Really ? It's nice to see that my old Sand-Mastery's Model was right ... Now I have to see if my whole Taldain-Magic's Model is right
-
Well they may have a mythology about foreign animals. After all probably Roshar's human come to Roshar from another place and their ancestor may knowed Lion or other "standard" animals.
-
Iron Feruchemy+ Gravitation Surge: the first changes the mass and the other the gravity (intensity and direction)... Together with the famous F=m*a they are capable of push the F beyond a linear scaling and create an exponential force with a linear cost of Investiture.

Are Shardblades and Shardplate made of Honor's godmetal
Yata replied to Omniforce's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah I know CaptainRyan... I don't mean that you are wrong. What I wanted to say, it's the godmetal is something strange and we don't know enough of them. Because between "metal made with Preservation's power" and "metal made from Preservation's Power" the difference it's quite arbitrary ... The semantic in these case, sucks -
Are Shardblades and Shardplate made of Honor's godmetal
Yata replied to Omniforce's topic in Stormlight Archive
To be honest the "godmetals" are something very odd, of course not every metal made with Shard's power isn't a godmetal (or the whole Scadrial is made of Harmonium XD). But it's something more like "Shard's power made solid without any king of editing" (Ruin and Preservation made all the others metals after all). We don't know if the Godmetals' generation is something unique of Scadrial. We know at least that it's possible to take away a godmetal from Scadrial without trouble... but this says quite nothing to our knowledge. -

I forget something: At the end of Warbreaker Jewel take Clod to his former brother (yesteel) hoping he may help her to restore a bit of Arsteel's mind (it's in the Warbreaker's annotations) -
