Why we have not seen dragons (because maybe we have...)
Yata replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Nope, actually there are debates on their origin. It's possible but unlikely for the actual Canon Hoid doesn't seems to be' a magical being of sort, ne has also (by WoB) at least a brother and while this doesn't proof something...It's a clue in his standard origin. -
[OB] If Gavilar was alive, who would be the Bondsmith?

He died in the middle of the task, how would you consider the actual Alethkar with Dalinar's efforts (except conquered and occupated by enemies). His goal was far from be completed. -

@hypatia be choosen by the Spren doesn't mean you will be a great KR. Simply you showed the potential, it's possible Gavilar was enough Bondsmith to attract the SF but not enough ti carries too much the Radiancy. Of course this is a tragedy for a relevant order like the Bondsmith without too much open spots. Anyway I feel you put too much relevance to the moral side of the problems, Spren are beings of extremes. It's possible the Stormfather would be perfectly fine with a "Unity at all cost also if my Knight is a jerk as long as he keeps his word". Or maybe the SF would release the Bond when his understanding will grow to the right point -

Cultivation didn't remove Odium influence from him as it's shown the Thrill still affect him and the rest showed in OB. What Cultivation did was simply to removing his memories, what Dalinar did in his new state of mind. Without Evi memories all his focus was on Gavilar's death and his own shame for the murder...He pushed himself to change and became the man who could carries the brother's dream. His purpose attracted the SF and the rest is story. Odium wasn't really casted away from Dalinar, the ties can't be easily cutted and you may how they were still present when Nergaul/Odium wanted. Odium simply left Dalinar in peace for a while to destroy him at once when the moment was good @RShara I am quite sure you mixed the Heralds with the Bondsmith about the Squires thing...They are the only Surgebinders without Squires we know -
The fact is there is a very loose correlation between "This magic is originated by X" and "this Investiture is from Y". Stormlight could be Honor/Cultivation/Honor&Cultivation 's Investiture but this doesn't mean the Surgebinding is originated by the same Source/Sources. After all you could fuel mostly every Magic Systems with every kind of Kinetic Investiture (A Breath powered Surgebinder is possible after all or Ruin could fuel Allomancy if he want). In the case of the Selish's Magic, we know all the magic are Dor powered and the Dor is a caotic mix of D&D. This would not mean alone that All the Selish's magic are originated from both (because again "Fueled from" and "originated from" are different things) but as the Magic System of the planet is indeed only one with multiple sub-powers (like in my example Feruchemy and in @The One Who Connects 's one with Surgebinding) the System is originated from both but a specific sub-power could be aligned more with one of them (actually the Surgebinding example works better because there are Spren more aligned with H or C)

There are theories about. Fused are really efficient with the Voidlight usage but they have not an unlimited supply of it as Chiri Chiri was able to drain one of them. Probably they could recharge themself in specific ways (maybe exposing themself to the Everstorm, or requesting it to Odium or with another pattern)

@Ashspren as Calderis already pointed Jasnah never fully transitioned into the CR until WoR's events as Ivory prevented her to fully transition there. But she will have problem to worldhop also if she wants or if she actually know there are something beyond Roshar(and she now know that). KR have an hard time to leave Roshar because the Spren are bound to the planet itself and it will need some workaround to make them able to left it.

Actually on Sel there is only a single magic system that express itself different from region to region (as you mentioned Scadrial, try to imagine if only Feruchemy exists and everyone in the Nord Dominance will be Skimmer and everyone in the Central Dominance will be Bloodmaker...it's a loosely comparison but it's quite good to understand) This magic system is fueled by the Dor and the Dor is a mix of D&D's powers. So every Selish magic you will see is both of Devotion and Dominion. There could be some magic thematically more close to one of the two but the magic itself is of both

Understood. First of all he is a confirmed Yolish Lightweaver. BUt mainly he uses mundane way to mask himself...like dying his hair or using fake beards/noses -

it's confirmed the Sho Del is a Yolen's race. Hoid knows some Dragons (at least one) but he is not himself a dragon. He started as human (by WoB) but now he is something no more humans for all what happened to him. I don't understand your point about "explain changing apparition", could you elaborate ? -
Someone already mentioned but also Shardhammer could affect the Soul. You Need only to make a clear and powerful hit that would allow the Shardhammer to surpass the outer layer of the unluckly target.
-
Renarin is very likely. For Venli It's hard to say as we didn't see her Powers yet. If her Form contributes to the interaction, sure.
-
Well it's possible he didn't at all, the Firemothers/Firefathers could be simply people designed to work not stop with specific Medallions or Medallion-like devices (more likely) to produce Heat for everyone. After all they need "only" F-Brass, A-Brass and F-Alluminium to keep the whole thing in place. There is an old theory, proposed by me and maybe Oversleep (I can't remember too well) that says it is impossible to gave F-Aluminium throught a Medallion for some Powers' interactions. If this is the case, The Firemothers are people who need an appropriate Spike to have that power. But at this point is hard to speculate

Yeah Insane people are more exposed (or to be more precise, their soul is more exposed) to outside influences.

[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
Yata replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is an idea of your. Regrowth is able to heal someone killed by a Shardblade, this is not some "small cut". Whatever it means, because honestly, you can't quantify the amount of Spiritual Damage without any kind of reference. Hemalurgy Spiritual Damage has an high change to kill the guy for the sheer amount of Soul removed. Parsh survived in mass and this therefore at least imply a lesser degree of Spiritual Damage....of course as I already pointed before, this is a moot point. The Sources listed before are able to heal Spiritual Damages with the only limitations are the not limitless "soul regenerations" cycles and the amount of Avaliable Investiture but those aren't relevant to your topic. -
@Jensel14 as I said It's possible. I don't see any reason Realmatically for them to lose their Powers. But I can't honestly be' sure of this. By the way, welcome to the Shard
-
We don't know, it's possible they retain it or maybe not....They are deeply twisted by the Hemalurgy so I can't be sure. I am quite sure you could Spike abilities in them, but not if they natural powers would be preserved upon their trasformation into koloss or if their souls is too my ruined
-
It's not a stretch, you may notice I refered the same thing. It's stated into a WoB .
-
We know already at least one of the main characters' concept. For the Koloss Metalborn, I am even unsure if it could happen "naturally" (as far as it could be natural someone who need Hemalurgy to exist)
-
The Spren's stuff happen for a couple of reasons: - the junction between them and their Knight's Soul. Therefore they instant will know stuffs they could not because they extended themself into the Knight's Soul (if you read Emperor Soul you know the whole history of someone is "stored" into his spirit web). - a cognitive limitation, the Spren in PR have a mind-deficit overcomed by the Bond. It's completely under the realm of possibility some of their knowledge is actually sealed until some requirements are completed. - The Spiritual Realm's loose-time dependant make some streams of informations from past or future possible and those influence the present. For example, young Kal's spear proficiency. This doesn't say much for your theory but Adonalsium will not become a thing in the past if Hoid in the future manage to assembly.

[OB] Odium can heal the broken shardblades
Yata replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
As calderis already pointed all' the Cosmere's Healing we know (with the possible Selish exception) heal the Spirit web too. Passive Stormlight heals the soul, regrowth heals the soul, F-gold heals the soul. There are an huge Number of WoB and actual in-world instances where you could see It. One for all', Surgebinders able to heal Shardblade's wounds or Bloodmakers able to heal Hemalurgy's damage -

The Everstorm didn't nothing different than a standard Cosmere Healing (only in a mass scale). If what you propose is right, every form of Healing would work too (for example regrowth). -
I assume the relative amount of time gained/Lost will not change bit of course from the Misting's PoV the experience is really short
-
He already did, when he fixed the temple. He could mend the Stone because they turn soft in the broken section and Dalinar could put them together
