  1. Because they already have this effect on them inherited by their Radiants anchestor and their natural Color mostly mask the change. Notice for example that Shallan's eyes doesn't explicity change color because her natural eyes color mask It (but there is a degree of change). With someone bonded to a Deadblade the effect would be still dumped
  2. Extremely agree with Cal. Ati could be' a really depressed Person or a pessimistic and still be' a kind and generous Person. Ruin isn't only a rampage killing macchine. It's the rapresentation of all the entropy in the Cosmere. The mourderous monster we saw is an extremistic view of itself. It's the same thing with Preservation, I honestly can't believe Vin would freeze everyone in a Perpetual statis but It's what Preservation would do without opposition. Returning to your main question, as Sazed's pain and bad moment connected him to Ruin enough....the same could be' true for everyone.
  3. And Vasher can't awaken at distance, awaken metal/stone or simply put off too much stuffs
  4. It's from a Non SA's Annotation:
  5. At least half of the avaliable Heralds were there that night. Jez, Nale, Kalak, Ash and someone speculate about lyss be' Chana
  6. I would expand what @maxal said. Also if I don't believe is the Lopen's case, someone could "broke" by sheer happiness or similar. What the Investiture needs in Cosmere (and this extends to Roshar and Nahel Bond) is a pathway into the Soul, the famous "cracks" but in theory not only negative Extreme experiences crack the Soul but also the positive Ones.... It's Just extremely rare for that to happen. There is another Cosmere's Story where we have a WoB about that...I will not post here because It's spoiler for the SA subforum
  7. I agree, also because Lift didn't call him other than Voidbringer, so his name has to come from something other than her. Actually like the others said, all' the Spren had already their name but in some cases they choose to use a nickname for reasons. By the way, we saw this also with all' the Spren in the CR
  8. I corrected the Identity's meaning. Not the possibility to turn the Forgery a bit easier with an Identity-Less guy. Anyway in the List of what you will be more susceptible while Identity-Less, Forgery would be one of the less impacted as the main obstacle (The Soul's rightful sense of self) is still there
  9. In the tin Savant scenario I believe Vasher would easily win exploit Spook's weaknesses. In the Mistborn scenario I believe Spook would win...this whole fight will become a mini version of TLR vs God-King and many of the considerations of there would apply here
  10. Actually no, the Forgery works regardless of your knowledge. It's what your Soul "knows" to matter (so what It's written in your Spiritweb), not your actual memories. A guy with an amnesia It's harder as a guy without amnesia to forge. To affect Forgery, you need to manipulate soul...So a Connection-editing would work but not a mere memories editing
  11. Hi and welcome on the 17S. Your question is really clever and indeed is something we wondered for a long time. Our main hypotesis for now is it simply there was no Shaod pre-Elantris. As you maybe already know, Elantris is an artificial boost to AonDor...It enhances that magic far beyond its actual power and it's the reason of the hyper fast weakening of the AonDor as soon as you leave the sorrounding (to make it more clear, the AonDor's power showed before the "fix" of the City or the one showed in Teod is the rightful one). The Main guest is there were pre-Elantris some AonDor user but not the Elantrians we know today....Those users built Elantris to focus the power and enhances it...They (maybe) designed the Shaod to use this surplus to turning the AonDor's users into the immortal shining dude we know today. Of course this is a speculation but it's one of the easy to accept ones you will find in the forum now. PS: Honored to gave you, your first upvote of welcome ;-)
  12. @Isilel sorry, I recovered all the reply fast while I was going to work and it was quite early morning....My mind wasn't too focused. PS: As you pointed to the Stormlight's composition in the regard of the local shards...I see more of Cultivation than Honor in it. But it's really debatable
  13. @Isilel To make Stormlight as Endowment's Investiture we need to overcome three problems (at least the ones that come to my mind): - The Self Contained status of the Cosmere's novel (that it's what you are mostly arguing and honestly I didn't even put in the list as I apply mostly Worldbuilding logic rather than plot logic) - The fact nobody, mortal/entity/gods refer to something external/foreign about the Stormlight, neither the one who provide it to the whole planet (Rider of the Storm/Stormfather) - The WoB (I provided it in the previous page) who implies the Stormlight as Honor/Cultivation/Honor&Cultivation 's Investiture. By the way, a lot of time ago, I proposed the Stormlight as pre-shattering Investiture left by Adonalsium to fuel Roshar's ecosystem and that WoB killed my own theory. Of course this was before the "Shards inherited all the Investiture in the whole Cosmere" recent WoB. Anyway, also if Leyrann dediced that the WoB doesn't disprove his theory...it actually does
  14. The greater analogue you could do in regard of Returned and SA's characters is with the Heralds. They are both Cognitive Shadows (decessed guys with so much Investiture to avoid the Beyond) stamped into a physical body. In one case the "so much Investiture" is provided by the Divine Breath (an Endowment's Splinter) that you could see in a some way as a Spren analogue (also if as far as we know, It's barelly sentient) while in the other case is provided by some conseguence of the Oathpact (that we don't know in details). The Memory loss is in the case of Spren and Returned happens for different reasons (and you have to notice the Spren doesn't simply lose memories, they lose the sapience at all). The Spren lose the Mind because they transition into the physical in a incomplete way (without a really strong anchor). The Returned lose memories by Endowment's design.
  15. Yeah, a "you will not mess with mortals, dude"
  16. I believe Lopen is a "standard Radiant" broken by his life. Like others said, the arm's healing proves he didn't accepted the lost of the arm and he lived until now as a "unwhole man" from his own view. @maxal Thanks for remember me about the "other ways", maybe your option is possible (i don't agree but it could be), my headcanon is about the children. Children have not fully fixed Soul yet (for me) and the Investiture could seep into those flexible souls. In this context, I believe it's what happened with Chibi-Shallan bonding Pattern so young.
  17. The First of the Sun's islands around Pjati are called the Phanteon, it's possible there are multiple avatars in First of the Sun and the reference was exactly about there. Maybe it's not worth mentioning but as you were trying to list the possibilities. Of course there could be also the Sunlord of Taldain as possible Authonomy's Aspect
  18. Well I for example believe the Atium is the Lost Metal (also because every "new metal" has no sense with the title of "lost metal") but it will return by an unexpected source (that it's mostly an headcanon of mine for now).
  19. Yeag 16% of popolation became Misting and 1/16 of them were Seer, so maybe @hwiles remember something like "1/16 was sickened more"
  20. Yata

    Galladon

I am unsure about this: SH Spoiler
  21. Unless you are proposing Hoid was already a quite Immortal dude before the Shattering, this is impossible. Of course we don't have 100% informations about him (except a couple of stuffs not really relevant here), but the few things we know are unlikely to point to an extended Lifespan as possible on Yolen (if you are not a Dragon)
  22. The Heralds were kings, generals, priests and in some case commoners (like Taln) choosen to fit the role.
  23. Or maybe many planets had cultures were Adonalsium were workshipped. As @thejopen27 reported in the previous reply, the Oathpact were forged only after the Fused's birth. And if you see mine, Hoid states he lived tons of life before the Heralds were even born. This at least implies the Heralds are not pre-shattering people
  24. Yeah he was, but in his case...It was also letheral XD
  25. @Thanatos Sazed has more Raw Power and nothing more. Rayse is far more skilled with godhood and he actually fought that kind of battles multiples times...I will be' not so sure about the outcome of their match, for example I will bet on Rayse, a riskful net but I saw him as favorite in the fight. By the way, Brandon too confirmed about the not so "Harmony is too powerful" point, as when asked about this fight....He replied comparing him to an Elend VS Vin.
