  1. Guess I'll kick this off. @Wyrmhero, just to confirm, if we lynch no one today, the Traitors won't automatically win, correct? Just asking because this wording is ambiguous enough to make me worry: If so, I'm going to advocate a No Lynch. With only the Seer right now, there's a 96% chance of us killing an innocent, who could very well be an asset for the Obligators later. I would say we should use this day to find allies and network information while the Tineye(s) are still around, but there's an obvious risk of anyone being turned evil, so caution may be best. In the end though, it's your decision. Personally? Instead of playing the boring, safe route, I'm going to announce that anyone who contacts me in PM and reveals their role to me will get mine in return. Or if it makes you more comfortable, ask me to reveal it first. The only condition is this: I will never share the role of another player, and I expect you to do me the same courtesy. Sound fair? Oh. And just so the Seer doesn't get the bright idea of converting me for information, let's agree to lynch me on... D3. That should be enough time to accomplish my goal.
  2. Wyrm is GMing a game again? Maybe it's time I play one again, too. Sign me up as Gaskon Renaud. Character details coming later... maybe... hopefully. I guess you could say Gaskon is an unrealiable procrastinator. I am in the middle of prepping for an inspection so I may not be very active until all of my duties are finished, but I'll see if I can manage an hour a day on this until then.
  3. Amanuensis. EDIT: I don't think there's eliminators, for the record. I revealed myself as a lover because I wanted to bait them into attacking me. I wasn't attacked, so obviously there's not a group with the win condition to outnumber or eliminate villagers. Whatever our 'opposition' is, it's non-traditional, and it may very well just be RNG. Whoever gets the doll next, I recommend you give it to the Scapegoat after me, since we haven't tried that yet and as far as we know those are the only two roles that existed from the beginning. I have no idea why I didn't die with Hael, the only options there are Hero lied, he was trolled by the GMs, or someone has been protecting me without saying anything, which is pretty pointless tbh. Obviously I'm not very invested in this game. I've been on vacation for about a week and will be so for another, so it really doesn't make a difference to me if I live or die. The reason I voted for myself Day One was just an experiment. I didn't expect anything out of it, but I figured there was a chance it could trigger some kind of hidden mechanic or grant me an ability or win condition. Probably just a coincidence I became the Scapegoat after, but who knows. Certainly not me. Maybe Elbereth, but I'm not even sure of that I looked through all the write ups and there's no real clues. I saw a couple instances of loud noises and someone having a "Eureka!" moment (I think) but there was no explanation, so I'm guessing it may have to do with someone using or obtaining a role? I recommend everyone looking through them to find out which cycle and investigating that. That's about all my thoughts. Good luck everyone.
  4. I've sadly got nothing to add right now I'm pretty clueless. No idea why I'm still alive, no new Moments of Clarity since becoming the Scapegoat. Sorry to disappoint ya'll xD
  5. Samiiiiiii. I hope that's you paraphrasing. If not, allow me to direct you to our General Rules, particularly: Here's the full post in case you haven't seen it:
  6. Hi guys. I'm one of the lovers, so it's especially unfortunate that I became the Scapegoat. I can confirm that I had no clue until Hero PM'd me and introduced me to my soul mate. In case you're wondering, though, I've never been happier. So please don't try to come between us
  7. You should ask to be the new scapegoat then
  8. Well that's not what my PM says
  9. Scapegoat only dies if the vote is a tie. Not if there's no lynch.
  10. As far as I'm aware, yes. I have not received any more PMs since becoming the new Scapegoat.
  11. Honestly? Just because. EDIT: Oh snap, sorry. Didn't realize this cycle was over.
  12. I can confirm that a scapegoat exists. The doll, tho... meh
  13. That's... unfortunate to say the least. Do you know anything else that might help us figure out what to do?
  14. This is me not posting until I know for certain what I am. Although I suspect if there are traditional eliminators in this game, they'd be top priority, so I'm probably village. If anyone wants to soft clear me for that reason, feel free fRR, I'm guessing that you hadn't actually planned a role/alignment for Chaos, buuut considering he did get lynched, can we get some kind of hint out of it? If not that's cool, I'd just love some kind of direction.
  15. Wounded Gazelle Gambit. It means when the group of eliminators have the ability to protect one of their own (or manage to get a villager to protect one of them, though that's more rare) and attack them simultaneously to make it look like they're a villager.
  16. Hm. Is it fair game to say exactly when you received your PM, or at least a rough estimate (I.E. about an hour ago)? That tidbit alone might be very helpful.
  17. Since this game requires a specific number of people, I am willing to play if no one else can fill the last slot. Otherwise I'll take a link to the spec doc EDIT: If I'm in, my character will go by the name Prudence. Will try to use RP as a means to develop this particular young woman's abilities in my soon-to-be web serial.
  18. I agree with maxal. Adolin is a big stretch.
  19. One thing to keep in mind is we have 8 books left in the series. Things got to keep escalating, especially considering the (10 year?) gap between SA5 and SA6. In the next three books Dalinar has plenty of time to show off the powers of the Bondsmiths and establish the Knights Radiant so that he no longer needs to be the lynch pin to hold it together. Any organization that relies on a single individual to remain firm against any foe is bound to lose, in my opinion, so honestly I either expect Dalinar to die or to become the Blackthorn at one point or another. As for the Ryshadium choosing him and the Stormfather bonding him, I wouldn't put too much stock into either of those. If Dalinar were to submit himself to Odium, it wouldn't be for any reason because it's necessary. If anything I would say a character sacrificing control over themselves and destroying their relationships and reputation in order to give humanity a chance at surviving is more honorable than fighting a battle you can't win otherwise. As for the Stormfather, he was also bonding Gavilar, before, who wasn't exactly a virtuous individual. Not to mention that people change, especially in desperate situations. Regarding the Stormfather being crippled, I've considered that as well, but since it's likely he's survived bonding other men in the past, I doubt there'd be any permanent effect. Plus there's still two other Bondsmiths bound to show up with their own superspren. A lot of people suspect Taravangian is on his way to becoming one with the Nightwatcher. My point is, I wouldn't rule it out. I do quite like the Taln theory, but personally I think it'll either be Dalinar or Kaladin. In the end, though, I'm certain it will be Thrilling to read no matter where Brandon takes the story.
  20. No apologies necessary, imo. These chapters have only been out for a few days and there's hundreds of posts to read, a lot of them long. I certainly don't blame you I have two large issues with it being Eshonai: Eshonai is essentially a slave to Odium currently. She's screaming internally while this Stormspren overrides everything that makes her her. Personally if the biggest villain (below Odium himself) is one who's forced to be one because they made a bad choice in the 2nd Book of 10... I'd be disappointed, to say the least. Brandon is better than that. I don't think the Champion is going to Parshendi in general. Most people may interpret this differently, but I believe that choice perpetuates the "us and them" mentality of racism that Brandon seems to be challenging in this series. You see the theme in the interactions between Kaladin and the Lighteyes, where he views them as corrupt but a few like Dalinar and Adolin begin to prove they're not all that bad. You see it in the war between the Alethi and Parshendi, where both sides are fighting because they think they need to, not because they want to, presumably due to the manipulation of forces like Odium. I think characters like Eshonai and Rlain exist to show us and the characters that the Listeners are not evil. They are capable of doing good, just like the humans. If any Parshendi was to be the Champion, my money would be on Venli, but in my opinion she's just a deluded pawn. I also have a third issue with it being bad storytelling, but that's a matter of opinion, so I won't bother citing that
  21. Moash is a possibility, but it's not the Champion I'm rooting for. We're definitely not done with his character but I can't really imagine him getting that powerful / corrupt, unless there's a lot more to his history than he shared with Kaladin. I've already given my thoughts on this at length in another thread, so I'll just reference you to there, and you can reply here if you want:
  22. I definitely agree, which is why he's not a Radiant yet. But I won't rule out his capacity to learn from his mistakes, or Kaladin specifically. Then again, Leeo brings up a fair point. Having both Szeth and Amaram go through too similar character progressions is unlikely. Think we'll just have to see.
  23. If the Black Shardwielder in the vision is meant to represent the Champion rather than Odium, the nine shadows might represent him bonding with each of the Unmade.
