  1. If this wasn't Mraize's first game, I'd probably vote him right now. I'm about 80% sure Bort is a villager at this point, which is more than I can say about most people. Sigh. EDIT: Honestly, Bort probably just confirmed he's village, if perhaps in the most annoying way. Thanks pal
  2. No! It is I, Dio! (But yes, I'm back-ish thanks for the welcome) For some reason I think no one will be willing to offer you theirs Scenario I imagine (in addition to the Odiv problem) would be something like the Gyorn being the only one who doesn't claim then being caught in a scan and lynched for it. Plus process of elimination. We have 3 right now, one for sure is the Gyorn. If we track that going forward it'll be way too easy to narrow it down in a few cycles, once deaths and new converts start factoring in. Not my idea of a good time, personally.
  3. You thought this was Aman posting but no! It was me, Dio! Anyway. Posting mobiley so this is going to be a very minimalistic response: -I am against any strategy trying to dictate who pendants get used on, tbh. People should do what they want with what they have. -I am similarly against Derethi converts informing the thread. Sure, it might make the village win con easier to obtain, but it also may do it at the cost of the Gyorn's fun. I'd rather just catch them normally. Think those are the only two big topics brought up? So I'll just end this with an offer. First person who starts a PM with me gets to know either my role or the item I began with. Second person gets the info that the first did not want. Third, fourth, etc gets to talk to a pretty swell guy.
  4. No, I'm sorry I meant to sign up earlier but only remembered just as I was about to lie down for bed. That said, good luck and have fun everyone. See you on the other side.
  5. Hm, why not. Sign me up as Dio Brando, an exceptionally power-hungry, flamboyant narcissist with luscious blonde hair and a ridiculously chiseled bod. Don't mind the fangs. There's no vampires on Sel, after all. Edit: Hello to you too, Lopen
  6. I ended up falling asleep before I could post last night and I'm at work now, but I'll try to get some analysis done during my lunch break. That said, I'm going to follow Hero's vote on Livinglegend. Normally I would probably let it go because LL's actions toward the end of the cycle are exceptionally blatant for an elim, which usually means they'e just a rogue villager. I'd have accepted that explanation except apparently LL claimed neutral? Well, he didn't really. In his first post he said he has a non-eliminator win con. And in his (second? third?) he added that he can win with the village. Neither of these facts discount him being a villager, but it's also unnecessarily obtuse if he is. @livinglegend, are you a villager or not? If you're neutral and you don't have an eliminators based win con, then why did you attempt to intervene in the lynch?
  7. I just got back to VA and haven't caught up on anything that's happened since my last post, so I have no idea what happened with Drake but good job guys reading the rest of Day 1 now. Will try to get a substantial post done before I go to sleep. Feel free to @me if you need something in the mean time, though.
  8. That is hilariously embarrassing I really thought LL posted before Eternum voted for him. Sorry for my I blatant ineptitude and unintentional hypocrisy Also *makes sure innocent bystander is okay before picking up the pig* this little guy is mine now, and his name is Hypo. We will be the best of friends
  9. Dangit, just lost a post I was working on when I went to find a quote. I was squeeeing over DoS' post because normally I do things like that and it really feels great to see another player take the initiative themselves. Especially when it's someone I don't think I've ever played with before. In fact I like it enough to follow up his post and vote on Eternum with a vote of my own. It's the same post that caught my attention, though for a different reason. Honestly I could dig into a few things like emphasis of cluelessness at the start and the minimal purpose vote at the end, but in general it's the safeness of this post that bothers me. What do eliminators want to do? Blend. What's the best way for them to do that? Echo the comments of others with few-to-none personal thoughts. That's how I feel about his paragraphs on Orlok, Stink and Drought at least. I really need to see more of what's going on in his noggin, otherwise it's hard for me not to look at this and see someone trying to hide in plain sight Plus there's the fact livinglegend did post and he's voting for him because he seems not to have. If you'e going to vote at least get your facts straight But no. Real talk, that makes me think he's just going through the motions. Which makes me think he's content to sit back and do whatever. Which makes me think he's evil
  10. Emphasis mine. Upon reading the write up (particularly this quoted section) I think we're dealing with two eliminator factions. That last sentence could be an indicator that it's just two roles / characters working for the same cause but the emphasis seems to be more on separation. I'm getting a Szeth vibe from the first one and a Iyatil vibe from the second. Killing a nobleman and his entourage fits the Assassin in White's MO, and the title of this game combined with a masked killer really makes me think Ghostbloods. If Iyatil is a role I would guess that Mraize would be as well. If that's the case, they might be the group with a recruitment ability, as we've seen them try in canon. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Jasnah role they're after, considering where we are, but I'm probably making way too many assumptions Ah well. It's fun to speculate about, regardless. Also not super useful. ... FOUR HOURS LATER ... Sorry I'm late. Made an impromptu surprise visit to my grandma's because she's feeling sick and didn't to be rude. Okay so there's 2 people I'm feeling pretty good about voting right now, as much as any sensible person can be this early in the game. I'm doing this mobile so it's difficult for me to isolate and analyze the players posts so I'll try to see if I can get time on a computer tomorrow morning and tackle it before I start driving back to Virginia. One of those is Kynedath. The other is Steelrunner. It's been a very long time since I've played with Kyn (or anyone here really) and although I'm very excited to see him back, I'm not getting the best of vibes from him. Whats triggering me specifically is how "clinical" his posts feel. Phrasing seems very careful and the words are clean, organized. Less like natural train of thought and more like "I need to sell this image" and he's trying a bit too hard. Could totally be a persona thing, honestly. But without prior context and significant content now, I'm leaning in the "Kill Kyn" direction because I've seen many eliminators behave similarly and have even done it myself. Anyone else agree? Or more importantly, reading him village? If so please tell me why and cite specifics if possible. As for Steel, it's his later reaction to Orlok's vote that's making me go hmm. I think I can manage to quote it now since it's relatively short and requires no modifications: Yay. Tonally this feels abnormally stand-offish and I can definitely see it as a kind of bluff. Now that I'm reading it again and trying to follow the logic, however, it's more than likely coming from a clueless/reckless villager. Guess my initial read just didn't like the wording or something oh well! Moving on. I really like the Fifth / Coop interaction that just happened. Slight village lean on both of them because of it. I can try to articulate the specifics if people are interested, but essentially I find their responses to each other both logically consistent with being village-aligned. Most everyone else is in a gray zone. I really can't wait to be on a computer so I can put more effort into this game. It feels good to be back @Jondesu quick question. Why did you target hero with your question on page 1? Like what was your thought process there. Maybe I missed it but either way I want to know more
  11. For those who've already PM'd me, I'm personally going to refrain from using them for now. I don't have a ton of time available so I would rather dedicate it here. Blackout games and faction games are literally the bane of my existence the first because of how much my process relies on confirmable information, the second because of my tendency of being ganged up on I'm hoping this isn't a case of both, but it might be wise to plan for the worst. I'm choosing to act under the assumption that there is a (somewhat) traditional team of eliminators. If there is a converter as well, hopefully we'll be made aware of that in future write up. I'll post again with a vote after I comb through the thread again and take some notes.
  12. Just caught up on the thread. Drove for the last 9 hours straight so I'm going to pass out now. Mostly just posting this so I know where I left off. Good day / night everyone
  13. Less than 8 hours left. Just a friendly reminder to anyone debating joining to do so sooner rather than later so Len doesn't have to do any last minute balancing, and for those who have signed up to start hyping themselves up for a good time Also just letting everyone know I'm driving home this evening to surprise my mom for her birthday tomorrow (they don't know I'm back in America, yet ). So I probably won't be super active this weekend, but I'll definitely make sure to keep up and post at least twice every day. If I'm Fortunate enough to live until Monday, you can probably expect me to come in swinging
  14. It's a pleasure to be welcomed back with so much warmth looking forward to playing with you as well! And everyone else, of course Edit: It seems that makes 14. A couple more people and Len should be able to get this show on the road
  15. Oh wow. That's a lot of notifications. Been MIA for a bit due to life getting a 'bit' hectic. Things are calming down tho so I decided to visit and see what's been going on. Lo and behold, there's a game in desperate need of more players. I see more harm ignoring it than participating, so... Sign me up as Ana Lyst.
  16. I’m with Cal, honestly. When the Elantrian asks if Kal came for a fortune, it’s clearly referring to something more like a Chinese Fortune Cookie - hints about the future through visions or predictions - rather than good luck. Furthermore, Ishar is known as the Herald of Luck. How does that make sense, knowing what we do about his traits, and the order of Bondsmiths? Nothing. But combining Pious and Guiding with powers related to the future, and the fact that Bondsmiths share the center of the Double Eye with Truthwatchers, and there’s just too many coincidences to ignore, imo. Braize, Dalinar even describes in the Oathbringer preface that he was hanging between realms and was sure people could see further than him. Luck seems to be a misnomer like Adhesion and Chickens, imo.
  17. Personally my money there is on Navani. When Dalinar was retreating into his alcoholism and depression we see her manage to work the Coalition just as efficiently, if not better than Dalinar. She has a penchant for fitting pieces together. Not to mention her interest in Fabrials and Urithiru as a whole.
  18. I'm... actually pretty sure lightspren are the Willshaper spren. Suppose it's a separate topic, but saw that and felt it necessary to address.
  19. In case anyone missed it, this Interlude is titled 'The Rhythm of the Lost.' Why is that significant? Every one-off Interlude shares the same name as the perspective. Since this isn't called Venli, that means she will be the repeating PoV throughout the Interludes. Her being the Traitor on the back of cover gains a lot of merit from that fact, IMO. Sad as I am to say it, I don't think Eshonai is coming back.
  20. I'm not entirely on board with it being an Elantris reference, but since I haven't seen it brought up yet... Her hair being or becoming white is significant, I suspect. One possible explanation is that the story does, indeed, vaguely reference Elantrians (although clearly facts have been distorted by time), given the fact that Elantrians have "brilliant white hair." I have a slightly different idea, however. What if this play was written about Shallash, or possibly even a biography about her origins? Let me refer you to this image real quick: Coincidence?
  21. I'm not sure I can, to be honest. I mostly joined that game at the behest of another player for numbers, with the caveat that I needed to die early so I can focus on my work stuff. I ended up not being online much anyway so it was good for me that I got lynched C1. This is cutting it too close to comfort, though. Sorry I can't be of help
  22. And my time is up! Alas, I have work I need to do. I'll probably log on again in 5ish hours to reply to any PMs that may be sitting in my inbox before I go to sleep. Most of my gameplay will take place there, primarily, so if you're interested in exchanging information or just chatting about the game in general, you know what to do.
  23. I respect your opinion personally I'm not willing to lynch an innocent unnecessarily, but like I said, if enough people want to do it, I won't get in the way. My offer to trade roles, however, is my personal way of not doing nothing. I'm willing to explain why in PMs, too, but I'll keep my exact reasons outside of the thread. EDIT: Orlok's a smart cookie, though, and seems to have figured out a part of my plan
  24. It may not decrease fast, but with a single eliminator, pursuing a lynch gets them closer to their win condition without having them having to make any effort, except in the unlikely chance they get lynched today. In which case they would survive anyway, claim Thug, and we'd have to shoot them with a coin and/or lynch them the next day. If they die then, that means they only converted one other person, and this game continues to be a case of finding a needle in a haystack. Personally, I would much rather let the Seer recruit at least two players before we really start hunting them, that way whoever is still alive can look for connections, slips, lies, etc, to narrow down the whole crew. I'm also of the opinion that discussion isn't very helpful when 24 of 25 people are the same alignment. Most "suspicions" people get today aren't going to be well-founded or accurate, let alone get anyone anywhere expect for the enemy. If people want to lynch someone, by all means, feel free I'm not willing to vote for anyone until D3 and I'll be voting for myself on that day, though.
