  1. You could store Harmonium in an oil solution and drink it that way. The oil would ward off the water and allow it to reach the stomach to be burned.
  2. Here's why I'm in favor of Ruin-cesium over Ruin-Hydrogen: WoB states that the particles lose their association with ONE of the god metals. If the nucleus is intact following the reaction, and originally consisted of both Ruin and Preservation nucleons, there must be one god particle association remaining following the reaction. Assuming that Preservation's association is the one that is destroyed, that leaves Ruin in the nucleus/electrons following harmonium + water. While the electron could be transferred to form Ruin-hydrogen, we know that there must be Ruin-cesium based on the nuclear particles. Edit: This is all based on the wording of the WoB as presented in the thread. This is subject to change based on transcription of recordings.
  3. Well, if harmonium + water pulls energy from the Spiritual Realm, that must open a tunnel through the Cognitive Realm, creating a temporary perpendicularity. This could be very important in space exploration, as well as reaching planets such as Threnody that have no natural perpendicularities. Also, I'm unclear how removing the spiritual aspect of one set of particles leads to the creation of atium. Is this explosion powerful enough to rip apart the nucleus? That seems to directly contradict the WoB saying it is not a nuclear explosion. Instead, wouldn't you be left with cesium with a Ruin component?
  4. I personally think that these are Worldhoppers, using Honors perpendicularity to get to Roshar. The large size may be a result of the Realmatic transition c rom cognitive to physical.
  5. I'm pretty sure that we have a WoB that Shard blades are the God metal of Honor or Cultivation (depending on the spren).
  6. What does Zahel say to an amazing revelation? You just blue my mind! What did Hoid say to the depressed Aiman? Pull yourself together!
  7. What do you need after the Dustbringers arrive? Maid service. What do you call a Horneater who jumps off a mountain? A Flatlander.
  8. One is forced to wonder about the magic system based on a shard named Domination.
  9. I think that a previous poster was correct, the 11th section (home) is there as a locking mechanism. Perhaps you have to activate the fabrial with itself selected to unlock the gate prior to use.
  10. I keep coming back to Stormform. First, Eshonai is clearly being controlled by something. Second, the red spren went into her chest, which as I recall is a Hemalurgic binding point. We know that spren can turn into metal, so why not a spike to drive the transformation?
  11. True, but if the scouring happened post-Recreance as is very clearly implied, who was around that had taken the 3rd oath, let alone enough of them to scour an entire country?
  12. Could it be that some of the Voidbringer forms could be considered demigods? Stormform seems to be one of the weaker forms based on the Listener forms song; if there are stronger forms, they could easily be considered demigods.
  13. How about this: the afterimage is not Cognitive, but Spiritual. Szeth's spiritual component is actually a few seconds older than his Physical component due to the time he spent "dead". The afterimage is a result of the Spiritual realm trying to re-sync Szeth with the Physical realm.
  14. Another question: Arclo claims that Nale could not kill him, and that the Skbybreaker apprentices stood very little chance. Yet, Aimia was "scoured" and the implication was that most of the inhabitants were slaughtered. I wonder if this is actually true or if the inhabitants simply broke themselves down into cremlings, waited for everyone to go away, and then quietly reformed into their body shapes. Also, given what we know of Aimans, why did humans want to slaughter them? I think there is something very important here. Looks like a targeted reread is in order.
  15. Also, isn't the gap between books 5 and 6 something like 10 to 15 years? That doesn't seem long enough to forget Odium. I wonder if the world being destroyed is in fact Braize. Brandon is very seldom predictable and I have a hard time believing that he would leave something that obvious out there wit a WoB to point it out to us.
  16. I understood what you were asking. Hoid is much more Cosmere-aware than the average Elantran. He is much more likely to be able to survive.
  17. I suspect this is in response to Devotion and Dominion being shattered. Brandon has stated that it is "very dangerous" to transit the Cognitive Realm near Sel. This is likely due to the fact that Devotion and Dominion's power is in the Cognitive Realm. I strongly suspect that what is happening is that Elantrans start to move through the Perpendicularity and then get torn apart by the unbound energy.
  18. In all fairness, that's just the first thing we think of. My next thought was to drink it. I wonder what effect that would have. Given that Ruin's pool let you see the future, and Preservation's turned you into an Allomancer, would Honor's allow you to Surgebind? Would drinking from Devotion's well turn you into an Elantran? Could the water be carried and used for a temporary aon boost far from Elantris? And what would Endowment's do?
  19. I think this is part of Ruin's design. By using transmission through genes, the power will dissipate over time. Ruin can be perceived as entropy personified, which is consistent with genetic transmission.
  20. I kinda wish this was the case. I still think, though, that Eshonai is the Listener Radiant. It just fits her arc much better. I see her as a Willshaper. Eshonai has been a searcher, explorer, and mapmaker. The Willshapers were described as " And now, if there was an uncut gem among the Radiants, it was the Willshapers; for though enterprising, they were erratic, and Invia wrote of them, “capricious, frustrating, unreliable,” as taking it for granted that others would agree; this may have been an intolerant view, as often Invia expressed, for this order was said to be most varied, inconsistent in temperament save for a general love of adventure, novelty, or oddity." (WoR, chapter 50 epigraph)
  21. First off, I have no evidence to support this theory. I suspect, however, that this withering is Cognitively-based. The shades are Cognitive shadows, so they exist at least partially in the Cognitive Realm. When the shade interacts with the silver, it does so in all three realms. The "withering" is a result of the shade destroying the cognitive aspect of the silver. As a result, the physical aspect withers and blackens.
  22. I'm of the idea that this sphere is one of the Dawnshards. These are said to "bind any creature, voidish or mortal". One such sphere is seen to bind Szeth to his oaths as a Truthless. I dont see it as being invested directly by Odium, but rather having been used to bind an Unmade within the sphere. Brandon has been very tight-lipped about both the Dawnshards and this sphere, and in my head these have connected.
  23. There's an Ogden outside Rochester NY. As for terminology, I like Duns. They have the potential to become Invested but haven't yet.
  24. Further nit-picking: We know how Aresteel was defeated. Vasher gifted him some breaths to distract him, which gave Vasher the opportunity to kill him.
  25. I agree that the Scadrians are the most likely suspects, I was just trying to present an alternative. I have this sneaking suspicion that Brandon sees us all assuming that the Ones Above are Scadrian and snickering as he pens the future. Also, I was slightly drunk and forgot about southern Scadrial and their technology.
