It is said in HoA that many Bronze mistings were Savants simply due to the sheer volume of time they were burning Bronze. I suspect Vin was a Bronze savant. I asked Brandon once if the reason she got spooked off by Hoid was that she was detecting Hoid using a different form of Investiture with her Bronze, he smiled wide and started to answer but ultimately RAFO'd me. Obviously she was also augmented by her Bronze Spike, but I suspect it was both that and her being a Bronze Savant.

Oh, I certainly agree with you here. I just think that we can take Sazed's (extremely well) educated guess at face value. If nothing else his hypothesis shouldn't be immediately thrown out. I simply drew attention to Harmony's thoughts on the matter because it was something I was actively looking for in my re-read.

I have been re-reading SoS and Harmony directly addresses my skepticism about her only having one spike during his coach ride conversation with Wax. He mentions that she is removing the spike reverting to a Mistwraith falling onto the new spike and absorbing to revert back into a Kandra. After reading it a second time I think she does indeed only use 1 spike. This is supported by the numerous times that they mention that she can create a body faster than any Kandra barring TenSoon. I suspect the process of forming a Kandra body by adding a Spike to a Mistwraith would be similarly quick if you had the skill.

I am currently rereading SoS and something jumped out at me this time around... Just before Mayor Innate gives his first public speech Marasi makes a comment about someone (the context implies that it was a political philosopher) named Maribel. She mentions that Maribel had lectured that people who feel they have ownership in their work will work harder and be more productive. Where have we heard that before? Does this not sound very similar to the same lesson Sarene lectured the nobles of Arelon on? I propose that Maribel was in fact Sarene. Thoughts?

Shadow Rising is also the beginning of Mat just being the best character in the series (this is a fact, not a debatable opinion...). Prepare yourself.

Brandon mentioned at one of the signings of SoS that he is working on a secret short story for next year. I am pulling for a Nalthis shortstory.
