  1. I can't wait. I'm very excited that I haven't read the prologue, or any of the other released chapters yet.
  2. Yeah, loved that scene. I really wonder what that brings. Not until the weekend for me though!
  3. This was definitely an interesting read, especially for someone that has read the entire series. I got a kick out of seeing the names I've grown up with knowing them to be evil, or good, or just overall awesome (Lan!). It makes me wonder if there was ever some mention in the earlier books of Black Ajah and if Moiraine ever commented about them. I don't have the urge to go search for it now. Only AMOL to go, so very excited.
  4. Very cool. Only reason I'm not jealous is I don't have time to read it until this weekend. Also, I have officially finished my reread with New Spring!

    Metal Dice

Dude, that looks pretty cool. I wish had the disposable income to drop on some dice I would never use and just use as display art.
  6. The only book I've got left to read is New Spring. I never read it when it came out (though it has been sitting on my bookshelf for years) so I am going to finish that this weekend just in time for AMOL. Almost fitting to end my reread with the first chronological book.
  7. Wasn't Hurin already going down the "Lord Rand" route at this point? Hurin started to act amazingly "stupid"/loyal once that happened.
  8. You bring up why do people follow her. Well, you mention she is a stuck up cow, and that is how Aes Sedai as a whole have been presented as being viewed by the poeple. So, it fits that they would follow one of their own.
  9. There are some basic rules in Randland about channeling that don't make much logical sense. The number 13 has significance in that 13 women could shield any one male channeler, without exception. Also, 13 darkfriends channeling through Fades can turn someone to the DO. Those are just significant numbers.
  10. Why can't it be simply that Endowment wanted the magic systems on his/her world jumpstarted and brought back some seriously smart people. We've seen other Shards imbuing people to further their own needs, so why would this be any different? Couldn't the 2 sets of siblings be just a clue that there was intervention, rather than meaning something itself.
  11. Actually, there are a number of books that are either directly or indirectly related to Earth as we know it. I think it is very straightforward that Randland is sometime after our current modern age. What has been said previously to me explained that, not to mention what RJ wrote. Also, Lord of the Rings states in one of the Appendices (I think) that the hobbits eventually turned into us. Also, in the Sword of Truth Series, at end of the the most recent book they
  12. One of the more out there theories I have seen is that Mazrim Taim is some sort of almost Forsaken that survived in a status box, but that's not what this thread is talking about, so I'll stop talking now.
  13. I think that Mare would have needed some source of metal to burn, since without it any Misting wouldn't be able to do anything. As for why Kelsier didn't snap, I remember reading somewhere that the more powerful you were, the more strongly you ahd to be pained/stressed/beat/etc
  14. I wish the publisher would bring it to the Google Play Store, though I could easily just purchase it via Amazon.
  15. If I recall, Dalinar had been having visions since before we first got his POV in the stories, so I don't know if we can definitively say he only received them once he started to act honorably.
  16. Maybe he realized that the Voidbringers are the heads of Stone Shamanish, and he realized this and utilized one of the revered Shardblades to cut down one of the leaders who was Voidbringer. Since the Voidbringer was in charge of the Shamans and the order had convinced the rest of Shin over the span of 4500 years that Voidbringers don't exist, Szeth was punished as Truthless for merely picking up a weapon and striking another. As for why the Stone Shamans are such a martial order, maybe it is to allow the armies of the Void to have some highly skilled soldiers versed in the arts of Surbebinding (or Void-binding?).
  17. When you say Skaze, are you actually referring to his glyped up bones? I thought the Skaze were "evil" Seons. Regardless, you may be onto something, but since it's been so long since I've read the book, I can't remember if there is any reference into how far into being a full onw dahkor monk he was. Also, I thought his ability to disrupt the Aons was deliberate, not just being in their presence.
  18. #3 - I believe that Tuon demonstrates this when she releashes the formerly captive Aes Sedai when she is traveling with Mat and Valan Luca's menagerie.
  19. I think that they were fighting in TAR, and for whatever reason, either everyone was partially pulled in themselves (which helps explain how the Heroes of the Horn can be so badass) or there was a portal into TAR ripped into the heavens.
  20. I find that having other Truthless from other races doesn't make sense. It is, presumably, a sense of honor that causes Szeth to do what his oathstone holder does and no one else we have seen even approaches that level of honor to the point of committing evil acts.
  21. If this entire series had been written by Brandon, I would say he was setting himself up for an entire book of the Brandon-avalanche. As such, I imagine that AMOL will have nearly non-stop action and plot resolution.
  22. I think a lot of what probably used to annoy us on initial read throughs has been tempered by knowledge of what happens going forward and / or we ourselves are getting older.
  23. He is talking about the mass-market paperback, the kind that you can stuff in your front jeans pocket if you are a big buy.
  24. When was Avi's 2nd liason with Rand? I've finished up and didn't recall it happening. For most of the last books, Rand is knockin boots with Min.
