  1. In the absence of any roleplay, I shall attempt to discuss mechanics. The first point I would like to make is to draw everyone's attention to Aonar's disclaimer in his explanation of the roles - there are no safe roles. This should constantly be born in mind - particularly by those contacted via PM. This is both very sensible from a gameplay point of view, but somewhat irritating from a village point of view - it undermines the ability of the lightweaver to form a trusted group of those s/he has searched and then communicating through them - equally though, from the perspective of having fun, I would imagine that the game loses its allure should we be directed entirely by one individual... I would also like to invite speculation as to numbers - with a group of this size, how likely are we to see multiple Knights Radiant of the same order?
  2. Raylt Faialen was Seonid I think - again, they pulled out before the game started. I'm going to apologise in advance for the lack of roleplay in my posts - as you may have gathered from my previous posts in this forum I struggle writing it, and as such don't particularly enjoy doing so. Please don't take this as me not being engaged or enjoying the game - I very much do!
  3. I shall be succinct, due to the late hour in my timezone. I am putting out a wealth reward, corresponding to the usefulness of the information, for any information leading to the correct identification of the House who either sent allomancers against House Tekiel last night, or the House responsible for the attack, should there be a distinction. The sooner in this cycle I am contacted, the better, and the greater the reward shall be.
  4. Lord Tekiel sat at his desk, within Keep Tekiel, awaiting the arrival of his councillors. The past few years had been difficult, solidifying his control over an emergent House, and the corresponding rise in ambitious family member, but stability had been ensured. His greatest worry, now, though, was whether his efforts in ensuring the loyalty of his House were all in vain - if these... Kandra... Are roaming around, could he trust anyone in his house? OOC: sorry about the awful RP - I've always found writing RP to be really difficult, by thought I should try and do at least some, given the effort Wyrm is putting into this game. To business: Turn 1, Generation 2 Who? Lord Tekiel Where? Keep Tekiel in Fadrex What? Trying for an heir Why? To ensure the continuity of House Tekiel When? The Third action of this turn
  5. Turn 4 Action 3: Who: Lord Locke Tekiel What: Arranging marriages between my son and heir, Scipio Tekiel and Lady Elariel's daughter, Emmaline Elariel and between my daughter, Dido Tekiel, and Lady Elariel's son and heir, Lysander Elariel Where: Luthadel. When: Turn 4, Action 3. Why: To bring houses Tekiel and Elariel closer together, and foster peace in the West.
  6. I have to say, I do strongly disagree with lynching Emerald - an individual who is highly unlikely to be a member of discovery - just for the sake of it - either we lynch someone for the right reasons, or we drop the pretense that this lynch is to find discovery, not to even up numbers. On that basis, however, there is a significant flaw - in any one turn, with the lynch, two conversions, two strikers and two blood sealer kills, a faction could change by 7 members in one turn - and so basing the lynch on who is the largest faction is nonsensical - we would be far better of lynching someone we actually suspect to be a member of discovery, even if they aren't from the largest faction.
  7. I'm going to vote for Jain as well, for similar reasons - and his utter silence yesterday in the vault, even when asked to defend himself. Might I also urge all villagers to attempt to use the assassin - if one of us buys it there is a chance we hit a villager - if a coinshot hires him, he will definitely hit a villager. At this stage, we cannot afford 3 village deaths this cycle.
  8. Labrat - I have a somewhat lax recall of Sel, having not read Elantris as recently or as frequently as the others, but don't we see Chay'san being used by Shuden in Arelon? I'm not yes how this coresponds with the aforementioned WoB though.
  9. I currently make it a tie between Bort and Jain for lynching - and see Jain as the more suspicious of the two of them, so will break the tie and vote Jain As such, I make the current vote count Bort: 2 - JasonPenguin, Aanwolf Aanwolf: 1 - Clanky Jain: 3 - Zas, Bort, Orlok
  10. Who: Lord Tekiel What: Constructing a canal between the Western Dominance and Luthadel Where: Western Dominance When: Generation 1, Turn 3, Action 1 Why: To establish a foothold in the canal trade and to prevent extortion by Lord Farrsollin
  11. Bort - whilst your analysis of Alvron is interesting, my only concern is that putting both Gamma and Alvron on the Eliminator team would lead to an unbalanced game - Bridgeboy's statement that Neo had the kill doent prove him innocent - correlation does not imply causation - and currently Bridgeboy is my largest suspicion - testimony to the effectiveness of the Coinshot CLan - so whether they are successful or not, they do deserve congratulations for hiding so well!
  12. Ok, apologies for the lack of deep analysis. I am suspicious currently of Neo, Clanky, and to an extent Aanwolf. I would agree with the analysis from Peng above regarding Neo, have had a lingering suspicion of Clanky for a while, since he rebutted the idea of opening up information flow to the village, and Aanwolf seems incredibly active - possibly eliminator active.
  13. I am happy to vote for Downax this cycle - with Neo's suspicions, and just a general sense that something is a bit off. I am willing to reconsider though of Downax's post is sufieciently explanatory - I shall be on for most of the remainde of the cycle.
  14. Once again, I apologise for not being more active this cycle. I am going to use my vote to call out Grind . He is a very experienced, and often vocal player, yet has spent much of this game hiding in the shadows - now either this is due to activity in carriages - which would serve to reinforce my idea of not holding discussion in carriages as suspicions are much harder to come by when interaction is limited, or it is Gamma trying to avoid notice. From a balance perspective, further, I would imagine there to be at least one experienced Coinshot - which could well imply Gamma.
  15. Clanky, I disagree - whilst the coinshots can't hide completely, they can hide in the sense that 2/3rds of the individuals do not know what is going on in the cars - reducing exposure - what would be better, in my opinion, would be to use the 'mini-lynches' in this thread - we get the same effect, but all can look at them, exposing the coinshots to a greater degree.
  16. This was great fun to watch - and play, albeit briefly! There is a strange irony in giving away my pendant in the first day cycle and dying in the first night cycle - although I am still happy with what I did with it - and even more so given the love triangle Wilson found herself in - rather than the more likely pair. Anyway, Hero and Tulir, thank you both very much for GMing this, and for keeping the Elantris PM doc up to date for us spectres - it was always great fun to read the progress in unlocking Elantris!
  17. Ok, firstly, I voted for Phatt to prevent the vote being swung towards Alvron with a single switch - O felt far more confident Phattemar was an eliminator than Alvron was - evidently mistakenly. Secondly, I think you misinterpret my suggestion - I do not want to cease discussion - rather to move it all to the main thread, giving everyone greater access to information, and preventing eliminators hiding. I believe, on balance, that the loss of the facilities for private discussion are worth the larger forum for discussion available in the thread. I called out my carriage for its silence because my idea hadn't been agreed upon, and because relatively few people in my carriage had spoken at all - whether in the carriage or in thread - and being in the caboose carriage, 90% of the way through a cycle, we had yet to have a single vote for a target. The first lynch cycle, I was unwilling to out a vote on Adamir because I was uncertain whether my suspicions were widely held - I was not at that point convinced his actions were anything but an over zealous first time player. The second lynch cycle, as you can discover by rereading the thread, I removed my vote because Adamir I felt had adequately defended himself, and because his promise to role block himself continually did not ring true for an eliminator - it made me believe him just to be an albeit inexperienced villager desperate to live.
  18. Ok, sorry for my absence for most of this cycle. I have made this point in our carriage, but thought I should moot the idea here. I propose we cease to hold discussions within carriages, but instead hold all discussions within the cycle's thread. This has two main implications. The first if these is it alleviates the current situation in which lack of exposure to players outside of one's carriage prevents the gathering of information and the formation of suspicions, making it harder for us to identify Eliminators, and easier for them to hide. I have encountered that situation in our current carriage - and it has implications upon the effectiveness of the function of said carriage. The second implication is that it does allow the eliminators to know which carriages all players are in. However, eliminators are not stupid - and will almost certainly he sending lists of players in to the player making the kill anyway - so the consensus of withholding the information from the thread, rather than restricting access of eliminator a to information, only harms the village. I accept, though, that I may have missed key considerations, and so would appreciate it if other players would consider the idea. On the issue of voting, I am most suspicious of Phattemar - both due to Meta's analysis and Phatt's actions last cycle. I am far less suspicious of Alvron, and so will increase the gap between Phattemar and Alvron so as to avoid an easily manipulated lynch.
