  1. Ok, finally, a well evidenced post to which I can respond, and hopefully lay these issues to rest. On the first issue issue which you find suspicious; my vote for Leif. Here, I appear to have caused suspicion by the apparent contradiction between cautioning against tunnel vision whilst voting for one of the four, and for not voting for Ren. I would argue, here, however that there is not a contradiction. I was concerned with ensuring discussion of alternative suspicions. I had immediately prior to that event, had a discussion with Wilson as to the dangers of tunnel vision - those of you who have read the dead doc of Kasimir's MR will have noted my tunnel vision on her has earned me a place on her 'kill list'. I would argue though, that this position is not contradictory with my vote. I was of the view that whilst it was possible that another was responsible, and thus meritworthy of discussion, it was more likely that it was one of the four. Of these four, I admit to not having picked up that Macen was implying he had scanned Ren - and I was more convinced by the apparent overacting of leift, who I had not recalled seeing playing before, and thus classed as a more inexperienced player, than I was by the insistence of a single, as yet unreleased individual. This I believe also addresses your later assertion that my post following Macen's reveal defending my views was inherently contradictory. I did indeed attempt to direct discussion to Joe - as I would argue is completely understandable in a case where I am unconvinced by the explanation of an individual who I believe to be an eliminator - I would not be acting in either my, or the village's interests, should I allow such an individual to continue to hide in the shadows, once again no longer contributing, following a single post in which he purports to be a regular villager. Other's opinions on this may vary - and I did not want to create a lynch train without ensuring it was not merely my paranoia, so I invited others to respond so as to generate discussion of the issue, and a consensus before we either agreed or disagreed with his post - rather than the status quo, which appears to be just leaving him in a situation where he can remain not contributing or engaging, free from suspicion, whilst remaining active elsewhere on the forum. I shall vote for Joe therefore. I do not wish particularly to be lynched, I would strongly advise that you lot do not lynch me, and I would also refer to my above suspicions of Joe to evidence my vote. I look forward to discussing further any suspicions you may have of me - and will be active for another half hour or so, and then again for another hour and a half 2 hours later, in which I can respond before the turnobef
  2. Again, just getting in a vote before I go to work, but I strongly disagree with Adamir getting lynched on the evidence put before us - Alvron, as a player renowned for your abilities at this game, I am somewhat surprised. I shall be voting for Venture this cycle, just because of those who could potentially be lynched, his actions re. Bandwagoning seem most suspicious. I will not be back before the end of the cycle, as I do not have internet for a number of hours
  3. Kipper, you are once again voting for me on little logic - you said last day cycle that you'd expound upon it - please do! I'm not sure what I can do to help assuage your suspicions if you continue to tunnel vision on me on a hunch! Clanky - of course I created a lengthy explanation last cycle! I had the absolutely horrendous misfortune to mix up the names of two eliminators of all people - I felt anxious to explain myself as I felt that if I didn't do so adequately, I would be lynched; the desire to get an actual eliminator lynched rather than myself is normally a pretty big driver to create a lengthy post. What are other's views in Joe's explanation for complete inactivity - it's atypical for him, and his explanation seemed a bit unsatisfactory for me - but that might just be my paranoia!
  4. Ok, I apologise for my inactivity earlier - I am on a week of work experience, and am trying to create the best impression with those in working for, so am not using my phone in the office, and have been absolutely exhausted upon returning home. My intuition tells me something is wrong with Wyrm's posts - his argument with Meta before clarification may well have contributed to this. I don't know if I'm just wary of an experienced player guiding the thread, but with Meta out of the way, it seems a perfectly reasonable place to hide...
  5. Meta, might I raise the point that unlike eliminator kills, seeking or rioting, a lynch does have a clear second preference for targeting. Further, my interpretation of the lynch mechanics are that they target the alive player with the most votes. Equally, it may well be that giving up breath comes after the kill - in which this whole argument is moot . I do agree, though, with Meta's point that voting for him based on what is only a possible flaw in what could well be a very useful plan, before we have confirmation from a GM is premature.
  6. Again, Venture, with this long left in the cycle, is starting a bandwagon on someone really the best way to stimulate discussion and therefore gain information?
  7. I do agree with Meta about how shark bait's vote is odd, and seems like a deliberate attempt to remove suspicion early, but shan't vote for him, for fear of stifling discussion prematurely. I'm not sure I agree with Kipper putting a second vote on Lynchtarget before she had responded.
  8. Well.. This is... Interesting to come back to. As some of you may have seen in the HttFE thread, I haven't been terribly active this week at all, due to some issues with my dog, who isn't well. Excuses for my absence aside, I am somewhat perplexed by the motion to lynch me. When Kipper in his post above says he is voting for me for 'previously mentioned reasons', as I recall, he previously voted for me on a hunch - apparently something seemed 'off' in my posts - I would welcome elaboration on this, as I cannot really provide any explanation when I'm not sure what needs to be explained! Twelfth's reasons are laid out though - although I am of the view that they are not particularly watertight (although of course I hold this view ) He talks of me attempting to direct the lynch target away from the 4 involved in Bort's PM. Indeed, I did moot the possibility that it was not one of those 4, as a number of others did, as without the information from Macen, we had no way of knowing that it was one of the four, and Bort had been, as I stated in my post, quite active in game. As such, I felt it necessary to consider the possibility that it wasn't one of the 4 contacted, not because I didn't think that it could become of them, but because I felt the discussion needed not to be tunnelled on a small fragment of the suspects. As it happens, Macen's scan proved me wrong - yet I stand by my argument as having been sound given the information available to me. With regard to confusing Ren and Hero - there is a very simple explanation - I frequently get confused between them, having been a 'spectre' for most of the last long game, I didn't interact with either, other than Hero for one cycle of orders, and then read a games worth of Elantris discussion involving posts from the both of them. Not only this, but they had posted sequentially, on at least a page back from the current one when I was writing my post - as I recall, I simply read the name underneath the post I had meant to refer to, and misattributed the quote. Also, there is the slightly minor fact that I'm absolutely awful at remembering names! Given I don't particularly want to be lynched on flawed premises, I shall vote for Eramit . I haven't been following the game as much as I normally do, for the personal reasons touched upon above, and so have few suspicions from the past cycles. However, Eramit's post earlier appears to be an attempt to start a bandwagon on me, based on two previous votes, one of which was merely on a hunch, and thus seems to me to be an attempt to stifle discussion of other potential lynch targets.
  9. I have, unfortunately, left this too late to add RP, due to an unfortunate sequence of personal problems (primarily to do with my dog injuring her eye badly). What: Cashing my 'pyramid scheme' When: First action of the turn Where: Keep Tekiel Who: Lord Tekiel Why: To harvest the generated wealth
  10. Thank you very much for running this - I am very much looking forward to playing! Could I please sigh up as (insert appropriate name in an edit), with the colours of Black and Gold?
  11. Ok, I shall edit in RP and respond to the above tomorrow morning. I thought I ought to get in my public action now though. What: Scan all three bodies without using the lab When: Second action of the turn Where: Keep Tekiel Who: Non-forensics experts within House Tekiel Why: To discover what I was meant to discover from the bodies - ie the houses that the attackers intended me to believe reaponsible, OR to confirm that it was indeed Vinid and Erikell should the answers not differ from those provided by the lab
  12. Well - commendations to our Lightweaver - that was either some incredible luck or excellent guesswork! Can we infer from the fact that Hero and Ren are both Diagrammatists(?) that no other really experienced players will be? I don't know how Aonar has balanced this - pot luck or had influence in selecting the roles and factions? Aonar, I don't suppose you can tell us this?
  13. So, I apologise for the lack of Roleplay in this post, but the information I am required to impart requires discussion of things my character wouldn't know about Kandra, and so must be OOC. I can first confirm that the methods I have used to identify the bodies preclude the possibility of Kandra being used to replace Mistborn of Erikell and Vinid; a dissection of the bodies revealed no spikes in any of the bodies. Further, Wyrm has confirmed that actions would have to be used to both kill the Kandra and replace the bodies with them, had they been used - so not only did this mysterious attacker kill and replace nobles from Houses Vinid and Erikell, they attacked my Keep, by good fortune had enough Kandra to replace the exact number of Mistborn I killed - a number revealed to me in my end of turn PM from Wyrm, but on top of this had sufficient actions remaining to kill the Kandra immitating the nobles and replace the bodies with them, without anyone in Keep Tekiel noticing... Unfortunately, I remain unconvinced by the arguments being used in your defense.
  14. Kas, you have absolutely no reason to feel in any way guilty about calling the game - I think I can say I speak for us all when I say that you are absolutely right to put your own real life concerns above running a game on a forum, and I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping you swiftly sort out the problems you are having! Further, I don't think there to be any reason for you to take yourself off the GM lists - unless you do not wish to run another game; you have been an excellent GM, with fantastic write ups! I have very much enjoyed this game, and think it has been a really interesting format - and so would like to thank you for running this game!
  15. Lord Tekiel could barely restrain his anger - Lord Erikell continued to mock his intelligence. The suggestion that the bodies had been identified by their clothes was absurd. Given the gravity of the issue, to suggest that Lord Tekiel had not taken all due care to identify the bodies was absurd. Indeed, the greatest precautions had been taken. It had taken work and investment, but House Tekiel had established a forensics laboratory, recruiting the foremost experts in the field, to identify the bodies themselves, so as not to be deceived by any attempts at subterfuge. Lord Tekiel, having received this information, had come to the conclusion that two possibilities existed. The first was simple - his investment had paid off, and his forensics laboratory had successfully, and accurately identified the bodies. The second was not so simple. This involved another House, taking such sufficient precautions as to deceive advanced forensic techniques. Not only this, but they would have had to do this in very little time - House Vinid had only incredibly recently established itself in Luthadel. Furthermore, they would have had the good fortune to have done so to a pair of houses who had decided that the least sensitive information they could release to the public involved a transfer of four properties from the more wealthy house to the heavily militarised house. Indeed, not only this but Lord Erikell appeared to have knowledge of the assault on Keep Tekiel before the information entered the public domain. Lord Tekiel acknowledge that the above was possible, but given the circumstances that would have had to occurred, doubted it to be in any way plausible. Indeed of the two possibilities, it seemed to him that one was so much more likely than the other, to the point where he was quite prepared to stake the reputation of his House on being correct.
  16. Scipio Tekiel paced his office, his gaze returning frequently to the three letters on his desk. The first troubled him greatly - the results of his identifying the bodies of those killed in the assault on his keep. He simply could not fathom what he had done to provoke the attack from the Houses Erikell and Vinid - his House had had little interaction with Erikell since the ascension of the Great Houses - not even any contact since the very beginnings of the new society. What was more worrying, more perplexing, however, was the involvement of Vinid - a House new to the political scene, with not even an opportunity for enmity to arise. And yet the second letter made him shake with fury - a letter from Lord Erikell, denying any responsibility for the attack, and claiming to be framed. The sheer temerity of the man, to attempt a lie, in the face of conclusive evidence... The third letter was more hopeful, and Lord Tekiel began penning his response, accepting the offer of this new security firm to resolve the situation within the bounds of the law. It greatly irked Lord Tekiel to not exact vengeance himself, but he had seen sense, and come to recognise that two wrongs did not make a right - and that any attack by his own forces, although more justified, would still be illegal.
  17. Ok, sorry for my inactivity so far this game - a myriad of personal reasons I'm afraid. I am of the opinion that whilst it is certainly plausible that Bort was killed by someone he was communicating with, we should remember that he was also outspoken in thread - and as such we might be risking lynching a set of villagers fruitlessly - having said that though, I am somewhat in agreement with Emerald's view that leiftinspace 's post seems over like an attempt to 'seem' like a villager, and that the ooc text sounds like an attempt to dismiss conversation regarding his own contact with Bort. I would suggest that any truthwatcher squire this coming night cycle - allowing both a mouthpiece, but also potentially a scanning charge from the highstorm.
  18. I'm afraid I don't feel up to trying to write any roleplay tonight - I'm not feeling fantastically well at the moment. What? Investing in the Tekiel Military Where? Keep Fadrex Why? To grow the military and prepare it for future attacks Who? Lord Tekiel When? Third action of the turn
  19. Unfortunately, given the rebalance, whilst a mega faction is unnecessary, I do believe it to be entirely necessary that we focus all our efforts on discovery, and not roleblock, lynch, convert anyone from the other factions, until at least we have resolved the slight issue of an unblockable-insta-kill running around. I would propose that we lynch Zephrer this cycle - He is currently the only discovery member who remains with access to a faction doc, impeding our ability to plan without being intercepted.
