Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
Patar replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I'm becoming more and more nocturnal recently. I haven't been going to bed until about four or five in the morning, and haven't been waking up until three or four in the afternoon. I'm in for a rude awakening when I have to start waking up early again. -
What are you playing right now?

So quick question. I'm thinking about getting either The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask or Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for my 3DS. Which one do you guys recommend? -

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Patar replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Just got my final grades back for my first semester. One A and four B's isn't to shabby, I'd say. -
I don't really want his powers to work like "I'm using my powers on you, now follow me around and do whatever I want because you love me." I imagine that what Blackhoof posted would work perfectly for Peacegiver's PI, Remington felt his power while trying to kill him, but as soon as he stopped the feeling went away. I imagine that his mental manipulation works a lot more subtly. He could make vanillas his slaves if he desired, but while interacting with epics, it works more like soothing/rioting, as someone stated above.

Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back

What kind of monsters make students take their final exam Friday at 3 p.m, the day before they get out for break -
Hm, I actually kind of like that more than what I had in mind. Do you all think this would work for Peacegiver?
-
So I guess I'll change the PI since the effectiveness of it on other epics is questionable. I can do that. I also want to clarify something: Peacegiver doesn't necessarily manipulate emotions. If he wanted to, he probably could make a vanilla kill his family, because the vanilla would view Peacegiver as perfect, anything he wanted must be ok to do. On the topic of the effectiveness of their general powers, should we have them work on epics, just not as well as they do on vanillas?

The two characters I have in mind are brothers, both high epics. Peacegiver: Epic Powers: Can emit an aura of peace around him, which instantly puts people at ease. When engaging in conversation with people, they open up and find him incredibly easy to talk to. When people look at him, he puts them at ease. When people speak of him (without him being present) people become calm. What grants him his high epic status is that when people get close to killing him, they can't bring themselves to do it because they view him as perfect. I was told that this may need to be changed, as this may not be able to overpower the sociopathic tendencies other epics have. No major offensive capabilities. Personality: Calm, and very friendly. Enjoys talking to people. When epics become arrogant, he tends to want to bring them down a notch. Has a very good relationship with his brother. When he goes against an epic, he will use almost anyone to accomplish his goals. Night Terror: Epic Powers: His power operates similar to the way Peacegiver's does, except he can emit auras of fear. He can cause illusions of things people fear (spiders, roaches, etc.). If he knows an epics weakness, he can fill that epic's mind with that fear. He CAN NOT inherently know what weakness an epic has. Similar to Peacegiver, when people speak of him or view him, they become scared. When people come close to killing him, they give in to their terror, and become to scared to go through with it. This could also create a fight or flight scenario, so it isn't exactly fullproof. Can make people go through their own living hell. A bit more on his illusions: Let's just say, for example, that somebody had the weakness of grizzly bears. Night Terror could make that epic believe that grizzly bears were all around him, as well as make him believe that another person/epic was a grizzly bear. Of course, he would have to find out that grizzly bears were the weakness. But normally, he can cause illusions of anything people fear, which is just about anything. He can also fill someone's head with images that frighten them. The catch here is that Night Terror doesn't know what his victim is seeing. So while his enemy would be distracted, he would have no idea what exactly was causing the reaction. Personality: Calm, like his brother, but a bit more reserved. He looks after his brother when he gets involved with other epics. Very protective. So I was told that it would probably be good to put Peacegiver's powers up to a vote, since the powers may not really affect epics that well, so let me know. And let me know what else I should include! I'm still kinda new to this, so I'm sure I left some stuff out.

I'm unsure if anyone has asked about the Shardholder's families, but I always thought that it would be kind of cool if Leras and Ati were brothers, and Leras was kind of taking care of hit little brother, keeping him in check during their time on Scadrial. There is no proof to back it up, but I just thought it was a fun little fan theory.

Three of my favorite characters from Kingdom Hearts. So sad what happened to them. This is like the second or third time I've changed my avatar in the past few weeks, so I'm not sure how long I'll keep it, I might go back to Johan Liebert soon.

I'm curious, what are the origins of your username?

And I get that, I really do. Sorry if I seemed like I was trying to push Christmas onto you. Nobody should have an obligation to participate in Christmas events, some people just enjoy different things. This "War on Christmas" is complete nonsense. If somebody isn't as excited for Christmas as you are, that's no reason to get upset or feel attacked. We should just let everybody do their own thing.
-
Huh, I guess I just have a different take on Christmas. I understand that for many people the overplayed songs and somewhat repetitive nature of Christmas may turn some people off, but for some reason it never had that effect on me. I love Christmas. The music, the decorations, and just the overall atmosphere. It just makes me so... happy. Sorry if that sounds a bit corny, but it's really the only way I can describe it. As a kid I always was happy when my family drove me around and looked at Christmas lights while listening to Christmas Carols, and when we set up the tree and decorated it together. As someone stated above, I understand that not everybody is as big a fan of Christmas as I am, but somehow I just don't get tired of those overplayed songs and movies, because to me they just coincide with happiness. I try to ignore the ridiculous stories around Holiday season, and I try to focus on the ones where people make a difference by giving. For every dumb story, there are stories of people who change lives through their giving that go completely unnoticed (or ignored) by the media. Heh, I guess this is why some of my friends nicknamed me Buddy the Elf around this time. I feel like this time of the year is the only time I can relax, and just...feel the joy that we should be feeling. Anyways, sorry if I'm rambling at this point. I was going to quote a Christmas Carol, but I've changed my mind on that for you all .
-
Sounds like somebody needs to sing a Christmas Carol.

Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back

In order for me to move up to an A in my History course, I need a perfect score on my multiple choice test, quiz, and the final essay. In order for me to keep my A in my math course, I need to make an 88 on the final exam. Clutch mode activated. -
Just started watching Assassination Classroom, and I find it really enjoyable so far! The whole concept is pretty funny I think, and the characters, despite not having much development yet, are really enjoyable.

Honestly, I'd be willing to watch just about anything.
-
I wasn't asking the rest of you to do it for me. I would never ask someone to do something I'm not willing to do myself. I simply wanted ideas for possible questions I could ask if I got a personalized copy, and I wanted to ask for some good questions people more knowledgeable than I could think of off the top of their head. Didn't know there was a google doc however, so thanks for pointing that out, it makes it much more convenient!
-
So I'm thinking about ordering a personalized copy of Way of Kings. Any good questions I should ask? I'm sure plenty have been asked in this thread, but there is no way I'm searching through 107 pages to find one I like.
