The wedding happened because Shallan thought it should. She wasn't ready but like she created Veil and Radiant to solve issues she didn't want to deal with, she married Adolin for form's sake. I wouldn't surprised if there's a Gollum scene in the next book, maybe complete with a hologram, where Veil is arguing with Shallan about who she married. For the sake of a hypothetical child, I certainly hope Shallan isn't pregnant because almost anyone, upto and including Stephen Leeds hallucinations would be better mothers than Shallan.

Maybe book 5 ends with Cultivation's death and Dalinar or Navani taking up the shard just as odium thinks he's won. Also, Shallan can hardly control herself at the Revel so I doubt she can be tortured for any time. I also wonder when wayne is going to show up, his hat thing with the resulting personality deep dive just screams lightweaver.

Well shallan created Veil to deal with stuff she didn't want to so she would naturally be the best. I think Veil is what shallan wants to be as a person whereas brightness Radiant is the ideal KR percieved by Shallan. Veil is clearly the sanest one of the bunch.

[OB] If Gavilar was alive, who would be the Bondsmith?
Angsos replied to Ashspren's topic in Stormlight Archive
Because Elhokar wasn't a powerful person. -
[OB] If Gavilar was alive, who would be the Bondsmith?

Why would the sibling be of odium? Yes, he's the third god there but the KR and Heralds were built to fight Odium. -
[OB] Will Shallan ever find a good (girl) friend?
Angsos replied to Dreamstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
First someone needs to crack Shallan's walls before she can naturally interact with people and Lift could possibly do that. She's irreverant but can be semi-serious if she tries. Right now Shallan is nuts(midway thru part III) so until she gets semi-sorted, she can't really have anyone. What she really needs is for Veil to throttle her. What see really needs is a therapy session with Stephen Leeds. -
Okay so even though I'm on the forums and spoiler board, I couldn't stay away. I'm only on part 3 but shallan is extremely annoying and needs to be hit with something heavy. She seems to make progress in WoR but then go backwards so far in Oathbringer. Other than her, I liked everyone else, Lift can be a bit irritating and I don't understand how her mind stayed focused long enough to get to the third ideal. Other than those, I'm really liking it so far.

Not saying you're wrong because it probably is for skyward but wouldn't space combat and air combat be different since atmosphere and stuff isn't pulling on you?

I hope the new graphic novel either isn't cosmere or he releases an audio version. I have the prose White Sand so no audio doesn't matter so much. I'm legally-blind so audio would be very good if it was new cosmere stuff.

! of 3 Shallans aren't a wideyed innocent, Shallan prime seems to be regressing and Radiant is just that.

My guess is they don't have things to put there.

They might be private but loose lips sink ships. I could see one of them getting drunk and talking too much. People are overlooking something though; I think the gambler will come to a head before Balat, assuming Jushu is still doing it. I could see Shallan trying to 'help' her brother by getting him spheres she says are for 'radiant practice.' They're not enough and Jushu starts stealing and gets caught. My guess is if it happens it will be the Kholins who won't kill him out of hand because the GBs most certainly would.

Shallan's murders were self-defense or something since her father was eventually going to kill someone. Adolin was just hatred, incidentally, it's interesting to see Dalinar kind of became was Sadeas wanted and then they fell apart.

If there is religious strife, I hope Brandon has a new take on it given religious strife has been done alot in fantasy. Like maybe Dalinar drags all the ardents into his visions and Jasnah just regally ignores them all.

I said in another thread, it might be a Rithmatist novella to give the fans an adventure and reintroduce the characters because that's basically a one-off story to non-fans. I don't think he can just drop the Azlantian down and say hey everyone this is a sequel to a non-cosmere book I wrote 10 years ago, I hope you like it. I still don't understand why it wasn't cosmere.

In a ten book series there have to be politics and other non blazing action parts. In a trilogy or single book you might be able to get away with straight up action but not 10 books.

He isn't saying but shouldn't Stormfather or nightwatcher know about the recreance

Getting back to lashings, I think you press shift before Lashing and that multiplies it

He probably didn't include more Amaram because we already know his character. After all, rather than ask Kaladin for the shards, he just killed everyone except him and took them.

CrazyRioter is right, perfect characters are boring, that's why superman needed Lois Lane or Wonder Woman needed Captain Kirk

Dalinar got married by an avatar or whatever we consider stormfather, cool and I think Renarin does know about Sadeas, just by his reactions. Pattern is cool

[OB] The Fourth Oath, the Oath of Abandoment
Angsos replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
If Kaladin needs to let go of the dead to reach his fourth oath, we may have a long wait. Rand took twelve books to let go and Brandon wrote one of them. -
Eshonai's flashbacks are 2fold I think, to add tragic layers to her story and more importantly give back story to present events
-
Except she clearly hates the robbers in Karbranth and says those Men, instead of people, if she just hated criminals. That could be right or wrong. On the other hand, I do like the idea of child Jasnah telling adults she's seeing things and them surrendering her to ardents for treatment. Torture in the guise of religion would explain why such a prominent person is a heretic since feigned belief would probably be much easier at her level.
