  1. Really...I've be pleased as punch to see either...but I do feel that animation would do Roshar better justice. What with all the spren everywhere, totally alien landscape, weird oceanesque flora and fauna...anyway...my vote is for anime. also upvote to rbn because no one else did...
  2. Well...on the topic of the unmade...during the first of Dalinar's vision's that we get a chance to see...the black monsters he encounters are referred to as Midnight Essence. One of the Unmade is named Midnight Mother... Re-Shephir, the Midnight Mother, giving birth to abominations with her essence so dark, so terrible, so consuming. She is here! She watches me die! This leads me to believe that Re-Shephir is somehow tied to the creation of these monsters.
  3. Thanks for the links Moogle. upvote on me. Also appreciate the correction on terminology. (I've been off shard for a while now) Also appreciate the input Paradox. I also considered that the Unmade may be who the Listeners refer to as gods...but after reading through all of the Listener songs describing the different forms...one of them seems to refer to the gods and the unmade as different things...
  4. So...I'm really just looking to start a fresh discussion about the Unmade. I've got several theories and am very interested in hearing some of yours as well. Many of you are also way better and referencing WoBs and other cannon material than I am so I am eager for your input. By the way...I hate having to do the whole spoiler tag thing so just assume that every post could possibly contain spoilers... To get started, I'm just going to put some stuff out there for you guys to pick at. - The Unmade are slivers of Odium...true or false? - There are 10 Unmade that are the opposite of the 10 heralds...? - The giant figures that Kalidin and Shallan see striding the storm were Unmade. It is my personal theory that the Unmade are somehow fuelled by...created by...tied too...the heralds' torment in damnation between desolations. I've also seen it tossed around that the mysterious Black Sphere may somehow be tied to the presence of one of the unmade. Let me no longer hurt! Let me no longer weep! Dai-gonarthis! The Black Fisher holds my sorrow and consumes it! We know that Moleach causes the Death Rattles. We know that another one (not sure of the name) causes the Thrill. -Are there any other unusual phenomenon that could potentially be attributed to the presence (proximity) of Unmade? GO!
  5. I don't really have anything to base this on aside from supposition...but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a new parshendi form. There are several outlined in their song of secrets that have been so far unobtained. I'm thinking that the group that left, and refused to become stormform, may figure out artform etc, while some of the baddies get mixed up in decayform or smoke form...or something...
  6. Stoneward Stonewards are loyal and dependable, the first to charge and the last to retreat. Stubborn to a fault but fiercely trustworthy, they make for unparalleled allies. They possess the surges of Cohesion and Tension, and their second Ideal is unknown.
  7. I'm digging the whole "something is wrong with the afterlife" idea. I'm loosely formulating some input for this discussion, but it has been a LONG time since I have been seriously active on the shard. I'm going to think about some stuff...then, when my headache goes away, I'll try to contribute something useful... (the cosmere is such a big and confusing fictional place...)
  8. I've often wondered...since burning pewter gives you an abundance of several different physical traits (stronger, faster, healthier, etc) would a twinborn who could burn pewter be able to store up various feruchemal traits faster? IE, " I can burn pewter and store health in gold. I never have to feel sick in order to store health...I just burn a bunch of pewter." Does this work? If so...I would have to say that A-pewter and just about any feruchemal power would be great
  9. I love a good pun...good job.
  10. Anti Lurcher - Standard brass jacketed lead hollow point filled with finely powdered lye. They pull the bullet into their chest plate and immediately get a face full of highly corrosive powder. Anti coinshot - I think Raynette did a pretty good job with her coinshot rounds...but I've got a few other ideas. Silver bullet (it's not just for werewolves anymore), Hollow point bullet with glass capsule containing acid that is then tipped with a small steel pin. While it would only work at close range...coinshot pushes on pin at tip of bullet, pin pushes back through acid capsule spraying acid forward. Anti Pewterarm/bloodmaker - Hollowpoint filled with rattlesnake venom Tin eye - extra loud blanks
  11. You know...something that I just thought of...why doesn't silver get used more often in AoL. It comes up briefly in HoA...then never mentioned again. In AoL they talk a lot about how aluminum is more valuable than gold...but silver is generally much cheaper than gold...it's easy to alloy into something fairly strong...and it's totally allomantically inert. Granted...a silver lined hat wouldn't keep people from messing with your emotions...but it could make great weapons and armor. Shattered logic...while your pessimism toward the cause is not appreciated...your ideas are sound. have an upvote. Also...that's why you have your hemahound...so he can do the dirty work for you! Shard of A...that's pretty weak...I'm sure you can do better...c'mon...pretend that some pewter arm robbed you blind and then went all over town bragging about it...and saying terrible things about your mother...and he ate your lunch...how do you take him down?
  12. Hey...welcome to the forum. Have an upvote for being new...

  14. Hey...welcome to the uber Sanderson fan community! I have to agree with Voidus that no specific order is really required. Besides...it sounds like you have already covered most of the big ones. Alloy of Law is the next step for you in mistborn and the next one in the series is coming around the end of this year. Just mill around on the forum and you'll find all kinds of fun stuff. oh...by the way...have an upvote on the house to get that rep on it's way up there. Hope to see you around

  18. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for...but I really liked it when I found it... Final Empire, kindle location 2366, Chapter 7 - When Vin is training with Kel for the first time... "The nail attacked me!" Did that metal bring objects to life? That would be an incredible power indeed. -I didn't notice this until rereading mistborn for like the 3rd time...but the first time after having read warbreaker...neat huh?
  19. How's it goin? Welcome to the forum. Have an upvote to help get you started and have fun!

  21. Ok...I'll bite...New season is going great. Maybe my one criticism would be that the first two episodes were soooo ssaaaddd...
  22. I like this...we should talk about things like this more often.
  23. hey how's it goin'?...have a welcome to the forum upvote...there...spearman looks a lot better than skaa...anyway...have fun! (by the way...I totally recommend reading warbreaker next...it makes stormlight archive more fun)
  24. Maybe the spitting out of some ruin essence was a reflexive thing that happened not long after he picked up the shards. Now...this splinter has been around long enough that it has gain sentience on it's own and has hijacked trellism in order to facilitate it's ruinous intent...
  25. the more I think about it...the more I actually like the idea of Gary Bucey as Kelsier...he is supposed to be a homicidal maniac after all...
