  1. The way they talk about it, the answers are in the spiritual realm. But why the power didn't become sentient is a complete mystery.
  2. NowI think Honour did a switachroo with Nohadon, and Nohadon got killed.
  3. I forgot he even had a spren even though I’ve read Yumi. I really want her input back! Or to see if she knows Pattern? Maybe she will get pulled into the spiritual realm or something. I’d love that.
  4. We don’t know that at all. No one seems to know why the power didn’t break or didn’t become sentient. Maybe Honour did hide it in “the hearts of men” in the physical realm. Who knows?
  5. If I end up being wrong in my Chana Davar post and wrong about my StormFaker Support Post, at least I will have this.
  6. Rlain being irked at Shallan for not sharing information, followed directly by relain and his spren never getting around to telling people they can overlap their bodies in shadesmaar. ….. Rlain… you could maybe anticipate people’s needs too That’s extremely important information to know Or that enlightened spren are more in the spiritual? No? Not interested in sharing that? We have tuning forks to ring do we? —— I think the one thing really bothering me about Stormlight is this sort of stuff. People don’t share information when it makes sense to in order for Brandon to surprise people in the moment The biggest one is the contest of champions. I cannot believe, at all, that Dalinar would not ask to get details on what that contest actually entails. Odium gets to know it all, while Dalinar just sort of shows up and hopes he packed appropriately? We just show up? What can we bring? Is it mental and physical? Like, what? No details? Could we name a Greatshell as champion? Can we kill the enemy with one of Rabonial’s diseases? Can we bring anti-Stormlight? Swords? Hands? Flutes? Could a spren be champion? Can we bring Fabrials? like, what?
  7. Maybe thats *why* she was given the power. Cultivation maybe wanted an agent to slide in and out... Also, would Lift age/change if she decided to live in the Spiritual Realm? Maybe thats the way of fulfilling her boon?
  8. She did it in an earlier chapter during the Shadesmaar bead fight scene. After she swore/remembered a new Testement ideal, Shallan fought a singer who said something like "Transubstantiation? I thought your kind had forbidden such magic". She also did it a tiny bit in the battle of Theylan City, but she just gave her illusions a touch of mass. It appears that her soulcasting was being stunted by her weird bond with Testament. Now that Shallan is fixing that bond, she is actually getting access to supercharged Soulcasting. This could be a good thing, but may be a bad thing seeing as radiants in the past had banned whatever it is Shallan can do now.
  9. Hoid is okay with Dalinar learning something. He has taken that risk. That doesn't mean Hoid wants to make it as easy as possible for other factions to learn something valuable. In previous books, Hoid has been specifically upset that the Sleepless have infiltrated his private meetings (the cremling pen for example). Hoid believes at last one sleepless is working against Jasnah's team, so Hoid has every reason to try and keep things as secret as possible. The less the Sleepless know about what Dalinar is doing, the more control team Dalinar has. No one knows how this Dalinar thing will go or if it will work. This is uncharted territory for even Hoid. Therefor, other factions might be interested in learning what happens here. Hoid's enemies could gai meaningful intel on how perpendicularity teachers work with Bondsmiths, and this sort of power is one of the only distinct advantages Team Honour has. If I were Hoid, I wouldn't want the enemy knowing the limits and/or abilities of this either. What if it turns out Dalinar could go into thepast and watching a Ghostblood meeting from a year ago if he had the right connection? That would be extremely valuable information to know or to hide from the other side.
  10. Well, Hoid can't be sure. They are experimenting and trying to send Daliar and Navani somewhere controlled. But maybe it doesn't go that way and Dalinar accidentally goes to some point in time that exposes one of Hoid's secrets. Or even the other team getting intel on how well/poorly the experiment goes will be a problem.
  11. Anyone else noticing all the "The Tower makes things too easy" discussion? It seems pretty heavy handed in the last few chapters: Renarin talks about how easy farming is now and the cooperation Rlain gave isn't as meaningful anymore Then we cut to Navani telling Gav that the tower must be good because look at how easy it makes their lives Then we cut to Nohadon saying he left his people because life was made too easy for everyone with him there. Are we trying to set up the fact that living in The Tower makes people too complacent? Or the leaders/radiants there forget about the toil and exploitation that occurs outside the tower? Does Tower-Life lead to excess? Inhumanity? Isolationism?
  12. My mind assumed he was afraid of Sleepless listening in. In this loud room, he can watch for cremlings who get too close to listen.
  13. I was almost wondering if she was being manipulated or soothed or rioted into certain actions. --- Also, anyone else suspicious of the "wind" that was released by the perpendicularity? I wonder if they just accidentally helped The Wind escape whatever prison it has found itself in.
  14. Horneaters and herdazians have singer blood, so it seems like Adonalsium designed these species to be quite compatible. Or perhaps a shard or God Spren stepped in to bridge the gap.
  15. The “freedom” thing to me sounds like “revolution” as in cultivated change based on anger or grievance We know the power behind Odium likes to be questioned or to argue, so question systems makes sense to me for this combination.
  16. Did the Ghostbloods really use a bonded spren to teleport? If So, why didn't Shallan see these spren in the cognitive realm? She specifically says she only saw 3 people on the boat. There should have at least been 4 figures if there really was a True Spren. I know it sure did look like they used a surge, but that specific "3 figures" line is odd. Options: 1. Corrupted/Enlightened Spren don't show up in the same way in Shadesmaar as Regular Truespren 2. One of the three figures is a spren and something happened to 1 of the ghostbloods 3. The Truespren fled after the transportation for some reason. 4. Sja-Anat moved the Ghostbloods to the cognitive realm somehow. 5. The Ghostbloods used off-world magic to mimic the ability (one of the trophies from the case) 6. The ghostbloods didn't really teleport there and it was a ruse somehow. 7. Continuity Error I guess I will need to go read the descriptions of height for these 3 ghostbloods and see if they should all be tall or short Mraize: Mraize is a tall man with jet black hair and light violet eyes Iyatil: Iyatil is a short, tan-skinned woman Lieke: I dont think we get a height (likely short because not Rosharan)
  17. Makes you wonder what Dalinar could do if he also bonded another high-level spren like the Sibling, The Nightwatcher, or an old god like The Wind.
  18. I think we have been given a semi-explanation in that the Odium vessel changed. Odium was repressing the Wind’s ability to speak, so we know that sort of thing is possible and worth doing from Odium’s perspective. Since Ba Ado Mishram tried to be her own mini god, I think it’s plausible that Odium could have been suppressing her as well (he didn’t want a rival).
  19. I hope the secret handshake comes back at some point. Like we are tipped off that Gav has been replaced by a Kandra. Something like that.
  20. And telling Gav it’s okay to bad things sometimes. LIKE SERVE ODIUM
  21. Very unclear how herald bodies work. If a herald is smooshed to death or dissolved in acid, does that herald body get sent to Braize and is healed? Is a new body grown? Do they get different bodies like Fused or did they always return in the same body? It is not clear at all. Brandon has saif that the Heralds originally were going to return just like fused, but that he changed his mind. Apparently, heralds return like how the fused did "in the original draft" but I haven't read the original draft or the prime versions. Anyone know anything?
  22. One thing I forget is that she did take down the Son‘s of Honour over a time period of a year or something like that. She has experience. It’s just all off screen. We didn’t see them grow
  23. My best guesses are: 1. that the “we have spren” was a lie for some reason. If everyone thinks the Ghostbloods can elsecall, maybe they won’t be looking for something else. As far as we know, the teleportation surge doesn’t come easily to that order and I doubt the Ghostbloods have sworn so many oaths so soon (unless oaths aren’t needed in the same way with enlightened spren if you’re not expressly trying to be a radiant) 2. The invested items in the Trophy Case are traps. The Ghostbloods know Navani will want to study them. These items will be taken to Navani in order to start messing some things up. 3. Some counter operative happened against Shallan’s people. Over and over again there are cases of the Court being unexpectedly slow during this mission. 4. [edit] The Ghostbloods want to drop seeds that Mraize may flip over to team Dalinar (in order to pull a double cross)
  24. Which is why I think Shallan was the one who got tricked. The meeting was far too obvious and too large just in order to talk about nothing… The Ghostbloods are more likely to have given away their now useless pieces in order to get closer to their Mishram goal. Seeing how Shallan is always a step behind, I can’t imagine this being the time she wins.
  25. I’m worried that the Sting Operation was a trap. My gut tells me that Shallan will take all those off-world artifacts to Navani, and one of those artifacts will let the Ghostbloods get in.
