  1. In Oathbringer 119, when Dalinar is saying the Third Ideal and opens Honor's Perpendicularity Odium thinks: Who is the "we" mentioned here? As shown in Wind and Truth, Honor's power fled Tanavast after he betrayed BAM, and then Odium killed Tanavast. It really doesn't make sense for more people to be involved, because all Odium does is kill the physical body of Tanavast, he doesn't even Splinter Honor.
  2. Why isn't there an Ars Arcanum in Wind and Truth? All previous Stormlight Archive books had one, and I thought they were really informative.
  3. Another slightly related point is that during the time of TWoK, Alethkar had "some twenty blades" (Ch. 52). This was after they had gotten seven of the eight Parshendi Blades, which implies that around a third of Alethi Blades originated with the Parshendi.
  4. According to the Coppermind, Narak was destroyed during Aharietiam or possibly earlier, which is before the Recreance and the formation of Shards.
  5. In the Stormlight Archive, it is mentioned how there are relatively few Shards and that individual Shards have history and lore associated with them. But in Rythm of War, we learn the the Parshendi had eight full sets of Shardblade and Plate. I have read all the current books, and I don't understand how the Parshendi could have gotten so many Shards.
  6. Thanks for the advice, that is really useful.
  7. That makes sense, and it woud align with this WoB " Um, Splinters, can they be restored to... So it is, that is a yes, but restoring them will not restore Honor, the Vessel of Honor, right. They would restore Honor the Shard if this were to happen, but a new Vessel would have to take it." (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/34/#e5993)
  8. "Was Honor Splintered? Ooh someone's been paying attention, very much. I would say that yes, Honor was Splintered. That is a very important question to be asking, someone knows their stuff." (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/325-google-hangout/#e9810) I know this is an old WoB, but Sanderson typically plans our well in advance. I don't see how this is compatable with the info we learn in Chapter 16 of WaT: "“Some say that Honor was Splintered by Odium when he killed Tanavast—as he did to others before—becoming the spren, as the power of a god left alone will begin to think.” She shook her head. “But they’re wrong. The spren existed before Tanavast’s death. They are of him, but are not the core of his power. It still exists.” She looked him in the eyes. “It is the power and substance of the visions you were shown, starting years ago. It seeks for men to see their heritage, as it searches for a new Vessel to hold it.”" Cultivation could be lying to Dalinar here, but I don't find that likely. Now, we know that Odium has the capability/knowledge to completely splinter Shards, like he does to Devotion and Dominion, why didn't he Splinter Honor?
  9. A tag should be created for Arcanum Unbounded 2 with the WoBs like https://wob.coppermind.net/events/379/#e13554 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/488/#e15391 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/532/#e16497 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/430/#e13975 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/490/#e15436 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/371/#e11912 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/390/#e12727
  10. I know Aronack, who claims to be Oreon (though we know Aronack is his "true name"), doesn't seem very much like Preservation, but the Oreon and Xeth share strong lore parallels with Preservation/Ruin ie Oreon is White and Xeth is Black, just like Preservation and Ruin.
  11. he already agreed that his champion would face dalinar's. Even if he doesn't like Dalinar's champion, he still has to go through with it. Hoid will not be fighting odium, he will be fighting odium's champion. Plus, Odium wasn't able to destroy hoid after he discovered him at the end of RoW, though he was able to take some of his breaths.
  12. I was thinking the other day about the contest of champions and who the champion would be. While I strongly doubt this is going to happen Hoid seems like an obvious choice for champion. The terms specify the contest is a fight for the death, and Hoid is basically immortal. I'm pretty sure the only thing on Roshar that could harm him would be Nightblood, as as long as Odium's champion doesn't have that, Dalinar wins because his champion isn't defeated. EDIT: I know Hoid is incapable of hurting people, but the point is that he can't be defeated.
  13. Something interesting I noticed while rereading Oathbringer is that the Stormfather says "In these millennia none [of the Heralds] have ever died and returned to Damnation" (OB cp 38). As the SF from the prologue senses the death of a Herald, that means if the "Stormfather" from the prologue is really him then he flat out lied to Dalinar in Oathbringer.
  14. I was wondering would Mistborns and Radiants be considered to be highly Invested naturally? My interpretation is that they are not naturally Invested like the Returned but instead used lots of Investiture. However, in Mistborn: Secret History Kelsier is able to stay in the cognitive realm longer becuase he was invested. This doesn't make sense to be because he wasn't actually Invested, he just used Investiture from the metals when he burned them.
