Over in "Buy or Sell" somebody theorized Pattern's death. As Brandon likes to keep it interesting, I don't think that Pattern would die in the same way Syl "died" in Words of Radiance. Today at Comic Con, I asked him if a splinter could use up its mind like Leras did when he imprisoned Ati. Brandon said yes, but that a splinter couldn't achieve something so powerful with it. So whatever splinter you love (Pattern, Syl, Nightblood, Ashe, Zahel's soul) could expend its mind in a burst of power. Do you think that any of these tiny pieces of god will ever be pushed to the point of using this ability? Zahel's soul's mind? Weird.

I suppose that a female kandra could still take the form of a male human, but I agree that it is more likely to be a female character. I posted this new information over in Where's WalDo as well.

Brandon also confirmed that the kandra worldhopper is female. (Yay for pronouns!) I asked Brandon what planet we saw the kandra on. He said "You have seen her before" I asked Brandon if the kandra was an agent of Sazed. He said yes.

Yeah I knew Lightsong and Blushweaver didn't really count, but they did both love each other. Their constant teasing and hanging out is just as much of a relationship as many of those among my real life friends. And Kaladin and Laral... I just kind of felt bad for Kaladin. Kaladin+Shallan is the obvious choice, but that is clearly just shipping, and at that point I would have to add Shallan+Renarin too, and then things are getting out of hand. Plus, we all know that Jasnoid would win.

Funny story: I was originally considering a google doc for each room, so people could talk to each other and try to figure out who was in the room with them. Then I realized that I was a madman. Assigning people to 12 different google docs, every single day? hahahahahha It will definitely take some work on spreadsheets to get the nights right. The gap between the action deadline and the write-up will be longer than it has been before. But it's still doable if I have it worked into my schedule. Since I'm still #5 on the waiting list, I've got plenty of time to sort things out in preparation. For a 12-room map, I would want at least 16 people to sign up. If we had even more than that, well that would be just awesome. More work, but a better experience. If less than 16 join, I would shrink the map down to 9 rooms. When you use an atium spike, you can specify which power you want to take. If the person who used the atium spike didn't specify, I would remind them to specify after the initial deadline, when I tell atium and electrum users whether they died or failed. If the spike-user doesn't get back to me before the final deadline, I will assign a random ability. To everybody: If I wanted to co-GM this game, would anyone be interested in helping? Good point. I think I'll have to change the map, because that would really stink for somebody to get locked into a room alone. And hahaha yeah I didn't realize the similarities to Clue until you pointed that out. Hmm... I like your idea for atium mistings with lerasium becoming full feruchemists. I think that the main problem with that is how powerful a full feruchemist would be (you can store multiple attributes at once), but I think that a full mistborn would also be outrageously powerful. I'll have to think about that one. And are you talking about using Hazecrusher to knock down a roof once, like to use it up? Or are you talking about a reusable roof-knocking ability? Because Hazecrusher is already uncanny.

Alright. Even though the previous game I played was very difficult to stay active in, I still plan on GM'ing a game. I am soon returning to school which is much more structured and predictable, and I will make sure I have enough time to moderate before I begin. I still have a ways to go on the waiting list anyway. Here's my game. It has a lot of rules and is very detailed and complicated. Please give me your opinions on which powers could be improved, whether they are too powerful and will cause an imbalance, or will just cause too much work for the GM to be worth it. I'd like to know the parts of these rules you like, the parts you find funny, and the parts you think will only cause problems. Edit: funny business with the spoiler tags.

If Rithmatists gain their powers from Shadowblazes, it's likely that the reason their numbers are limited is that Shadowblazes are basically an endangered species. Are they rare because so many of them are trapped as wild chalklings? Can a non-rithmatist be turned into a wild chalkling? Perhaps as the forces of good kill more Forgotten, they will free ancient Native American rithmatists from Zona Arida. That would be cool. (Also rather disorienting for the Native American) Since deaths in Nebrask are so rare, and we know that the real Nalizar died the previous year, it could be that Joel encountered Nalizar's Shadowblaze. Theory: Nalizar was killed because he could not be possessed by a Forgotten while he was bound to a Shadowblaze. Dark Nalizar was more intelligent than Dark Harding because the Forgotten in Nalizar has free reign inside a dead husk, while the one in Harding had to constantly fight off Harding's mind. Perhaps Nalizar's Shadowblaze was too afraid to bind itself to Joel because it knew Joel was fighting Forgottens. It had only escaped being trapped as a wild chalkling because the Forgotten had decided to kill Nalizar. However, this theory doesn't seem as likely to me. Shadowblazes seem too noble and majestic to be held back by petty fear. More likely, we haven't seen the last of that Shadowblaze. For some reason, the situation wasn't right, yet it still chose to show itself to Joel. I think it will be back to help Joel, even if it never binds itself to him.

Hi guys. I just want to apologize for the struggles I had staying active in this game. I hope I didn't let anyone down. I'll definitely be waiting until my life calms down before joining another game of Elimination. I hate it when people go inactive, and I really tried to keep from drowning in all the words, but I fear that the skaa might have done better if I had been more involved. I hope you all forgive me, and know that in future games I will do better.

Once I have my own laptop again in the fall, I will be much better at this stuff, but that won't be until September. I have no explanation I can give other than what I have already said. I'm back! Sorry I have been so busy this week. I want to be as involved as I was the last two games, but at the moment I'm struggling to stay active. Every time I manage to get back on, I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on. I really want to do great big posts with charts and stuff, but at the moment I'm just skimming what everyone says. Also, I'd like to say that monitoring when people are on the site is pretty dang annoying. It almost never produces anything useful. There are so many reasons that somebody might look at the thread but not post (they looked at it on mobile, they were about to post but had to leave, they didn't have anything revelatory to add to the current discussion, etc) that when you condemn people for looking without posting, it makes me want to not look at all unless I have an hour to read up on everything, think of something useful to say, and find a nice way to say it. I want to stay active in this game, and the best way to do that is to keep reading posts when I have a chance. That way, when I actually have time to sit down at a computer, I can go straight to posting rather than having to read everything first. tl;dr when you guys say "he looked at the thread but didn't post" it makes me not look at the thread, meaning I post even less. edit:color So for now on, I will look at the thread without posting WHENEVER I GOSHDANG PLEASE, thankyouverymuch.

Hi guys. My work just got more intense and my best friend just got home from school, so I've been really busy. I've been checking in, reading the posts, but I didn't want to say anything until I had time to sit down and do some hardcore analysis with charts and stuff. I wanted to have something to add to the discussion. Unfortunately, unexpected situations have arisen for the third time in three days, and I will not have the chance this cycle.
