I think that each of the Heralds is "getting worse" in his or her own special way. Jezrien is a drooling drunk, Nalan is cold-hearted and evil, Shallash is destroying artistic renderings of herself, and this guy is getting super paranoid. I could accept him as Kalak because it is obvious that these people have changed a lot in the last few thousand years. Also, there are only 5 male heralds. He's obviously not Nalan, Jezrien or Taln, so he must be Kalak or Ishar. Edit: but I like your theory that Kalak/Ishar is guilty about the assassination. That would make more sense, seeing as he immediately then talks about Szeth possessing Jezrien's honorblade. Nin probably helped lead Szeth to the Parshendi. He wants to prevent the desolations from returning by killing possible Knights Radiant. The Parshendi wanted to assassinate Gavilar to stop him from returning the Old Gods. It seems that they had the same goal. I was wondering how Darkness managed to find Szeth after his showdown with Kaladin. It makes sense that he would have already known about Szeth and maybe even kept tabs on him through the years.

I think storing maturity should be a thing, because I'm pretty sure I do that the majority of the time.

The biggest problem I can see is with conservation of momentum. Momentum is mass times velocity, so that means whenever you increased your weight, you would slow down. Here's how we would like it: Push on a chunk of metal while light. Fly into the air. Get heavy so pulling on the metal doesn't slow you down much. Pull the metal back up to you. Get light again, then push off of it and repeat. Here's how it would go. Push on the chunk of metal while light. Fly into the air. Get heavy and slow down a lot.%2

Oh wow. I can't believe I forgot about that! It looks like the skittish alethi-looking guy is also probably a herald too, since he refers to breaking the oathpact and knows Shallash by her nickname. Which herald might he be? He's not Jezrien, unless Jezrien refers to himself in third person as "my lord". My guess: Kalak. Even when breaking the oathpact, he knew it was wrong.

So I was rereading the prologue to Way of Kings, and I saw this: A dark-skinned Azish man with a patch of pale skin on his cheek? Is that Darkness?!? Here's how Lift described him: "Surely she’d escaped Darkness, the man in the black and silver with the pale crescent birthmark on his cheek. ... The tall Azish man with the white mark on his cheek, like a crescent." And here's Ym's description: "The shadow separated itself from the darkness, resolving into a man with dark Makabaki skin, all save a pale crescent on his cheek."

I thought the summer movie season was fantastic. Sure, it had its bad moments. Michael Bay's Soulcasters: Age of Extinction and Teenage Mutant Ninja Greatshells were just as bad as we all expected. Into the Highstorm was a flop as a disaster movie, and The Endower turned out to be exactly like every other teen dystopian movie these days. There were some comedic failures as well. Bloody Tammy was boring, and A Million Ways to Die in the Roughs just wasn't that funny. Then there were some surprises. Lots of people were disappointed by The Amazing Cremling-Man 2 and Shardzilla, but I don't think anyone expected The Surge: Anarchy and Edgedancer of Tomorrow to do as well as they did. Some movies were good enough to transcend their genres. The Fault in our Shards even brought non-teenage girls to tears, and you can't say that the climax of How to Train Your Chasmfiend 2 didn't have you giggling like a child. Fun, beautifully designed, and surprisingly poignant, my favorites of the summer were Guardians of the Cosmere and Dawnshard of the Planet of the Apes. Thoughts?

Next time they do one of these hunts, they should put GPS trackers with the codes. That way if somebody forgets to type their code in we can hunt them down. (kidding)

We still don't know everything about how Nightblood was created. Some people believe that at least one divine breath was used. Maybe it was just one divine breath (along with a bunch of normal breaths) but that divine breath came from a dude.

Brandon is so swamped with Reckoners, Wax and Wayne, Rithmatist, and Stormlight Archive that he has no time to write the sequel to Warbreaker. So I figure, we being dedicated fans and all, we might as well write it for him! That's why they call it a for'im. Write whatever you want! It can be as ludicrous as you want! Navani invades Nalthis in an awesome steampunk fabrial airship? Go for it. Denth re-returns and wields an awakened Stick against Vasher? Fair game. Also, it doesn't have to be entirely in novel form. You can write it like a screenplay if you prefer, or you can include gifs or a soundtrack or anything that occurs to you. ANYTHING GOES. Be courteous, however. If somebody spends a lot of time creating a character, send them a PM to ask their permission if you want to kill that character off. Nightblood Not By Brandon Sanderson Chapter 0 Jewel, Clod, and Tonk Fah walked along the path to Huth. "Jewel, when can we raise the rabbits?" asked Tonk Fah. "I love the rabbits." "For the last time, I am not opening a rabbit farm with you!" screamed Jewel. "Will you stop following me? I'm going to find Yesteel so he can give my reanimated boyfriend a personality. I don't plan on going into business with any psychopaths in the near future." Tonk Fah opened his mouth to protest, but he was distracted by a strange feeling. Jewel and Clod didn't wait for him as he walked away from the path into the trees. It was like somebody was calling him from a distance. Why didn't Jewel hear it? The large man walked for a ways, then entered a grassy clearing. Lying there, glimmering in the sun, was a sword with a silvery sheath. "Hey, guy," the sword said in Tonk Fah's mind, "Pull my finger." Chapter 0, episode 2 Tonk Fah was so totally dead. He was deader than a Jewel's boyfriend, and that was saying something. He floated around for a moment, then somebody floated up to him. "Hi Tonk Fah. I'm Endowment. You're dead." said the shard. "Yeah, I figured that out," said Tonk Fah. "Can I Return, please?" "LOL" said Endowment, then floated away. Tonk Fah frowned. What could he do now? Who was he supposed to kill here? "Psst, hey you!" whispered a shadowy figure who was hiding behind a strange pile of beads. Tonk Fah approached the shadowy figure. "Who are you?" "I am Brodium, shard of the the Sinister Bros." "Huh?" said Tonk Fah. Brodium rolled his eyes. "Dude, it's a long story, ok? I was on Sel when Odium came to splinter Devotion and Dominion, and I ended up getting a chunk of each. Just don't tell Endowment I'm here. I can return you, but you have to do my bidding and whatever." "Do I get to kill people?" asked Tonk Fah. "Yeah," said Brodium, "but you also have to wear a snapback." Tonk Fah considered for a moment, then thought about all the innocent creatures that weren't dead yet and decided it would be worth it. "When can I start?"

If Other Authors Wrote the Cosmere Novels
Newan replied to Fatebreaker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
17th Shard writes the Cosmere? I like this idea! I think we should write Nightblood. Mostly just so Hoid can steal Vivenna at the end and Vasher can chase him to Roshar.- 163 replies

Whenever I finish watching Return of the Kings, I love how there are so many names of fans in the credits. A thought just occurred to me: Do you think our names will ever end up in the credits of a Brandon Sanderson movie?

My guess is that an impure metalmind would hold less charge. I like the leaking idea, and I expect that holds true for hemalurgy, but since feruchemy is all about balance, I think it would make sense for the charge to hold.

Yeah I know. I love how Mistborn subverts all the tropes, so that even when an evil emperor acts like an evil emperor, there is a deeper meaning to it. That's why my favorite of these is #186 applying to Ruin.

Rashek should have read Peter's Evil Overlord List. Edit: Not our Peter. Some other Peter. At least... I think so. *GASP!* New conspiracy theory! For those of you who haven't read it, why? Read it. Read it now. http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html And now I will be listing the rules that the Lord Ruler broke. Feel free to join in if I missed any. 6. I will not gloat over my enemies' predicament before killing them. 12. One of my advisors will be an average five-year-old child. Any flaws in my plan that he is able to spot will be corrected before implementation. 22. No matter how tempted I am with the prospect of unlimited power, I will not consume any energy field [shardpool] bigger than my head. 24. I will maintain a realistic assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Even though this takes some of the fun out of the job, at least I will never utter the line "No, this cannot be! I AM INVINCIBLE!!!" ["God cannot be killed! God cannot be overthrown!"] (After that, death is usually instantaneous.) 29. I will dress in bright and cheery colors, and so throw my enemies into confusion. 36. I will not imprison members of the same party in the same cell block, let alone the same cell. If they are important prisoners, I will keep the only key to the cell door on my person instead of handing out copies to every bottom-rung guard in the prison. 74. When I create a multimedia presentation of my plan designed so that my five-year-old advisor can easily understand the details [or my old rival's journal that documents my origin story], I will not label the disk "Project Overlord" and leave it lying on top of my desk. 98. If an attractive young couple enters my realm, I will carefully monitor their activities. If I find they are happy and affectionate, I will ignore them. However if circumstance have forced them together against their will and they spend all their time bickering and criticizing each other except during the intermittent occasions when they are saving each others' lives at which point there are hints of sexual tension, I will immediately order their execution. 132. Before appointing someone as my trusted lieutenant, I will conduct a thorough background investigation and security clearance. 137. Before spending available funds on giant gargoyles, gothic arches, or other cosmetically intimidating pieces of architecture, I will see if there are any valid military expenditures that could use the extra budget. 151. I will not set myself up as a god. That perilous position is reserved for my trusted lieutenant. 158. I will exchange the labels on my folder of top-secret plans and my folder of family recipes. Imagine the hero's surprise when he decodes the stolen plans and finds instructions for Grandma's [Alendi's] Potato Salad. 170. I will be an equal-opportunity despot and make sure that terror and oppression is distributed fairly, not just against one particular group that will form the core of a rebellion. 186. I will not devise any scheme in which Part A consists of tricking the hero into unwittingly helping me and Part B consists of laughing at him then leaving him to his own devices. [Oops, that was Ruin.] 187. I will not hold lavish banquets in the middle of a famine. The good PR among the guests doesn't make up for the bad PR among the masses. 188. I will funnel some of my ill-gotten gains into urban renewal projects. Although slums add a quaint and picturesque quality to any city, they too often contain unexpected allies for heroes. 208. Members of my Legion of Terror will attend seminars on Sensitivity Training. It's good public relations for them to be kind and courteous to the general population when not actively engaged in sowing chaos and destruction. 220. Whatever my one vulnerability is, I will fake a different one. For example, ordering all mirrors removed from the palace, screaming and flinching whenever someone accidentally holds up a mirror, etc. In the climax when the hero whips out a mirror and thrusts it at my face, my reaction will be "Hmm...I think I need a shave."

Whenever I watch The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, I imagine Legolas and Tauriel are both using atium. It makes it a lot more believable. Seriously, watch any fight scene with the elves in it, imagine atium, and it instantly becomes a lot more awesome.

It was Raoden's seon, not Ashe. And it wasn't the same thing. A seon can use itself up in a burst of power that fulfills its inscribed aon. A divine breath can be given up to heal someone. This isn't the same as expending your mind. Remember how Leras used up his mind to trap Ati? The power of Preservation remained whole, but Leras lost his cleverness. He had been a genius who came up with a convoluted scheme to trick Ruin, but he became a pretty dumb mist spirit who really sucked at charades. If Pattern used up his mind, he would still exist. Shallan could probably still use her bond with him to surgebind. But he would be permanently stunted cognitively.

Anyone? ANYONE?! Even a character you hate? Theory: Zahel is actually on Roshar because Hoid stole Vivenna from him.

Buy. I wonder what it would think about? Through this interlude we will realize that some of the shellbeasts are far more intelligent than we expected.

Sell. We love them too much. At least one of them is going to die. By the end of book 5, Navani will have progressed in the use of fabrials and become totally BA. (Fabrial steampunk, anyone?)

The Most OP Thing in the Cosmere (besides Shards)

If he is going to Roshar, he might as well go to Future Roshar and ride in an awesome Fabrial Steampunk Zeppelin. -
Sell. Hemalurgy is too dark and useful. At some point in the series, we will see a FLYING CHASMFIEND
